Unfortunately of all the Rookie-9 groups team 8 is the least developed team. Shino is pretty much in the background almost all the time and doesn't have any conflict with himself or anybody besides being forgotten (makes me sad). I really like Kiba, he acts like the hero of his own story. If there was ever another spin-off I would like to see the Kiba&Shino show. This is how I really like to see characters...like, what would their spin-off spotlight manga be like? haha okay back to point.

 

I'm pretty lukewarm about Hinata's character. I never liked her or disliked her. She could have been a pretty interesting character, seeing her position in the Hyuuga house and how her character did effect Neji's character in the beginning. She had more potentially interesting story than Kiba and Shino because it was set up like that! However her character is hung on Naruto. So I am upset that she hasn't paid so much attention to her clan and Neji to solidify her character as someone more than 'the girl who loves Naruto' because I hardly see her as a leader. 

 

I begin to think - how will Hinata's character be resolved? I doubt that it would end when Naruto and Sakura get together. The thing is we have never really gotten Hinata's thoughts about anything besides Naruto. Sure we saw her smile, but unlike how there was an inner dialogue with Sakura with her thinking "Hinata really loves Naruto". I think her character will have to end once she has a real conversation with Naruto, but I myself have no idea how it will go.

I have a secret crush on Shino. Then I remember he's full of bugs (literally) then I barf in my mouth a little.

 

I would watch a spin off with that team. Not like a full blown Naruto length manga but like 10-20 eps maybe. Especially if it gave Hinata a little more clarity and she stopped being Naruto's stalker/meatshield.

Shino really likes Hinata too it's soooo obvious. Hinata is JUST like Sakura in that way she's so focused on the guy far away that she can't see the awesome one right next to her.

I guess that's how a lot of people here think about her character. Interesting backstory, but that's just it. This chapter should be about her believing in herself, not others.

Well, I doubt Hinata will see herself in Naruto and encourage him to be with Sakura, and thereby sacrificing her own feelings. I hope she will find a way to believe in herself and find someone who loves her.

both are shy cute long hair big boob character who in love with the main hero.

the difference between sakura mato and hinata is the depth of their story.

while hinata is sympathetic, sakura is tragic. and that make sakura mato more interesting character as a heroine than hinata.

 

 

so whatever happen to her is not important. she can love naruto even after this manga end and it will not hurt this manga because

that is her trait as a character.

Even this chapter emphasized how, in some ways, Kiba is similar to Naruto in determination and personality. The difference is that Naruto is the main character, so he's given more personality depth and power.

 

Kiba is trying to one up Naruto to the point of even using his signature shadow clones, even if it's just one. Chances are that nothing will come out of it but if Hinata were to like someone it could be Kiba since he also has the type of determinant personality she seems to fancy.

That's kind of a bad interpretation on models. A good amount of them have very healthy bodies which are properly toned by good eating and working out. They have good meat in their bones, as you've said.

 

Thinking model type bodies are just skin and bones is just an unfortunate stereotype.

Let her be a character that's influenced by the protagonist.

 

Hinata gets a little more panel attention because she's the one secondary/side character who has been completely focused on and influenced by the title character from the beginning.  Plus she's a nice, underdog sort of character, and Kishimoto knows she's very popular.

 

Lately I've had the distinct impression he's trying to satisfy her fans as best he can without bowing to the pressure to pair her with Naruto when that was never his intention.

And that's the thing.  As far as I'm concerned, Kishimoto has never trolled his fanbase about NH.  Hinata has been the same character from Day 1 -- a timid girl whose interest in the hero has motivated her to get stronger and not give up.  Naruto has likewise been willing to serve as her role model, but not as her boyfriend; he never misled her or showed even the slightest hint that things could ever be different between them.

Kishimoto allowed Naruto to fulfill one of Hinata's personal dreams -- to be capable of standing by his side and hold his hand -- but her dream was achieved by strictly platonic means, an act that was later shared with other characters.  That's not a troll.  If Naruto had given any thought, any signal, that his actions were romantic toward Hinata and then he had turned back to Sakura, that would have made it a troll. 

 

Kishimoto tried to keep it interesting, sure, but he didn't deliberately trick anyone.  It's all right there in black and white.  Literally pages of it.  If part of the fanbase allowed themselves to be misled by the realization of Hinata's private dream, and other parts of the fanbase chose to perceive it as a serious threat to NS, that's really theirs to own.

Naruto has always been obvious and clear about who he loves.  Always.

I admit there have been times when Hinata has really annoyed me, but if I take a step back and look at her objectively I know it's not really her but what she represents to her fans that irritates me.  Hinata never acted like a goddess, or elevated herself to unrealistic heights, nor has she ever acted as if she thought she was owed Naruto's attention.  That's her fans doing all that stuff.  So no, I don't hate her.

In the end, I think one of the nicest purposes Hinata's character has served all along is to show that Naruto wasn't just a "hero" but a young man who was loveable and worthy of respect and admiration -- as a person and love interest -- and that if one girl could see him that way, another girl -- the one he wanted -- eventually would too.  I always believed it was Kishimoto's way of balancing out all the fangirling lavished on Sasuke by giving Naruto a fangirl as well.

I'd like to think Hinata would be happy about that.
