Very close. My dad has been making me take that crap since I was three and I'm still not used to the taste of it. LOL. I should send you some in the mail so that you can get some first-hand experience with it.

I know - time sure does fly. Before I know it, my VISA will expire and the U.S. government will be hauling my ass back to Canada.  I actually have no idea what he's planning to do. He said to leave it all to him, so I'm in for a surprise. I just hope he's not taking me anywhere fancy. I don't want to spray snot all over the place.

I'm sure he's gonna make the night uber special for sure and I have a feeling you're gonna feel some what or a lot better when you two go out for the special date. ;)

Despite feeling like I'm about to die, I managed to doll myself up. We haven't even left the house and I've already been promised dessert! Tonight is going to be marvelous~

I was so spoiled last night! We went out to eat at a local Italian restaurant, then Andy took me to Vintage Stock and bought more of the cards I needed to complete my Base Set 1 Pokemon collection. We also picked out a few cards for some friends of ours. I want to make them each their own album with cards of their favorite Pokemon. I found a lot for my friend, but not so much for her boyfriend... I'll have to go back and take another look!

Anyway, we also picked up a starter kit for Magic. It looks like an interesting game. I don't know much about it, but Andy said he would teach me how to play tonight. I'm not much of a strategist, so he'll probably beat me every time, but that's okay. We were going to go to the river afterwards, but it was raining, so instead we came back to the house and exchanged gifts. He bought me a Meganium tin, (my favorite Gen 2 starter), and a special Pokemon book that I had when I was young, but lost. It's so cool to have another copy of it, and in mint condition!

I bought him an Entei promo box. It came with a few packs and a cute figurine that he can keep on his desk. He got some awesome pulls from it, which I was really happy about, because packs can be a gamble. We also had a booster box of the regular HGSS series, and the HGSS Unleashed series to share, along with a Ho-Oh promo box and a Lugia promo box.

We were up until about 1:00am opening pack after pack of Pokemon cards. There were so many, we ran out of sleeves to keep them in. I think I may need a new binder to hold all of them. It was a lot of fun though! I've never opened that many packs before in my life. LOL. I have some pictures of all our pulls that I might upload later. We each got some pretty sweet cards~

(He pulled a shiny Gyarados. I couldn't believe it. :argh: )

There were lots of kisses and hugs too. All in all, it was a perfect night for a dorky couple.

I hope you feel better soon, being sick is never fun. Especially awful when all you want is a good night's sleep but your sinuses are so clogged you can't even breathe, ugh.

Thanks.

I'm feeling a lot better now than I was two days ago. No more fever, and I'm breathing a little easier. My sleep schedule is still out-of-whack though. Like you said, it's near impossible to get a good night's rest with clogged sinuses. I had a sore throat too, so breathing out of my mouth hurt. I think I'll try some melatonin and hot tea tonight. Hopefully then I'll actually fall asleep.

Well, I don't spend time in H&E as much so is no wonder. However, there's always the PM system and skype. :D

As for my side of the world... I live in the US so I'm not that upside-down, hahahaha. :P

That's true. I've been really busy with school, so I haven't had much time for Skype.

LOL. I meant in your personal world.

Sickness, you're supposed to go away after a few days, not get worse.

If it got worse, I think it's better to get a day off from university to rest especially if you have a fever.

Let's hope that the law of attraction will work for me.

I really can't afford to skip classes...The good news is that it's Sunday, so I don't have anywhere to go today. The bad news is that I have a really big paper to write and a math test to study for, so I have to force myself out of bed. If I can get it done early today, then I can rest for the night, and I'm free on Monday morning too. Maybe I'll skip my night class...

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll have to pick up some supplements sometime today.

So, I have a paper that I need to write tonight, and I don't know where to start. I'm just going to brainstorm some ideas right here:

Nonverbal Communication

  • "The primary vehicle of human communication is language, and speech is the primary means of language expression for most individuals", but what would happen if humans lost their ability to communicate through spoken language? How would we be able to exchange and receive our ideas? ....Did you know that most of our communication already happens without us even thinking about it?

What are some ways that we can successfully communicate our ideas to a receiver without relying on spoken language?

1. Written Language:

  • Sharing our ideas on paper through written language or drawings.
  • Understanding someone's ideas through reading
  • Arbitrary signs and language barriers may create roadblocks in understanding each other through written communication.

2. Body Language, (Kinesics):

  • Tactiles - touching behaviors. Who you touch, how you touch, and where you touch can reveal a great deal about your personality, your mood, and your relationship with the receiver.
  • Proxemics - the physical distance between people as it affects communication. Reflects the relationship between people, and is influenced by age and culture.
  • Gestures and facial expression. What does your expression say about how you are feeling? Smile vs scowl, hug vs hand shake. Includes American Sign Language.

3. Deaf Community

  • In depth American Sign Language
  • Struggles outside of their community.

4. Voice Quality

  • Voice can reveal things about the speaker as well as about the message, (ex. A person with a soft, high-pitched voice might be communicating youth or immaturity.)
  • Pitch - a listener's perception of how high or low a sound is
  • Volume - how loud or soft a person speaks.
  • Rate of Speech - how fast or slow a person speaks can reveal information about where they grew up, (ex. People from New York tend to speak at a more rapid rate than those from Georgia.)

5. Cultural Differences

  • Some gestures have different meaning depending on where and how they are used. (ex. Burping after a meal, taking your shoes off at the door, etc...)
  • What does your image say about you? (ex. A person wearing old, worn-out clothes might give the impression that they're slobby or lazy compared to someone that wears a suit.)

I need to think on this some more, but this is what I've come up with for now. It doesn't help that my mind is all foggy from being sick, but I'll work through it.

I'm trying to figure out what degree you're pursuing. I'm guessing psychology but then you said you had a math test. Unless its stats then it makes sense. Am I wrong?

Oh as for your paper, you could add voice quality. Pitch, volume, rhythm and rate of speech. You could even write about clothing. What kind clothes you wear could convey your intentions and personality and in turn affect the interaction you have with other people.
