There is no ambiguity about Sakura's feelings for Sasuke. We know full well that she still has some romantic feelings for him (for example, chapters 474 and 540, on top of my head, I think). The only question is whether Sakura will get over her feelings for him during the course of this manga. I agree that there will be closure for SS. Personally, though, I have a hard time seeing what could possibly make Sakura abandon Sasuke now. She has witnessed him bragging about killing people, expressing desire to kill more, been asked by him to kill Karin. And as you are fond of reminding everyone, Sasuke tried to kill Sakura. Twice. Thrice, really, if you count their first reunion. Sasuke tried to kill Naruto and Kakashi, too. All this kitten from Sasuke, and Sakura still has feelings for him (chapter 540). I wonder myself what could make her get over him, if his almost murdering her does not? Karin get over Sasuke the moment he tries to kill her. Why did not Sakura? What possible event could be worse than Sasuke trying to kill her and her friends? Does Sasuke actually have to murder one of her friends for her to stop loving him? Because Sasuke could kill someone she did not like (Danzou) and that seemed to be still a-okay, as far as her feelings go. Any theories?

Sakura realizing that it was Naruto who complimented her in chapter 3 might make her realize her feelings for Naruto. I fail to see how it will make her feelings for Sasuke go away. She never remembers the forehead scene when thinking and reminiscening Sasuke. It doesn't seem that Sakura loves Sasuke because of the forehead compliment at all. So any theories?

Further thoughts. Kishi could have had Sakura gradually loose all hope on getting Sasuke back. He did just this, driving Sakura to such desperation that she was willing to kill Sasuke. Why not continue this by having Sakura get over Sasuke after he tried to kill her in the summit arc? Why instead have Sakura reaffirm her faith in getting Sasuke back (and promise to stay out of the way when the boys have their fight)? Where is Kishi trying to go with this all if his intention is NS? It would have been so easy to have Sakura gradually loose all hope on Sasuke, make her do "Karin". Why not? Why not have Hinata get over Naruto after 450? Why continue to show she still has feelings for him? Why make her be by Naruto's side in this chapter 614? Why have Kiba and Neji both mention her to Naruto? Where is Kishi going with that, if the intention is NS?

What I'm trying to say is: Kishi had his chance to sink both SS and NH for good and leave the road open for NS. Why not do this already? Just for the sake of mystery?

I absolutely love this post. Iv'e said this before about how Kishi has given Sakura so many huge opportunities to stop loving Sasuke. I'm extremely curious as to how he's going to go about it now. And it better be damn good!

I personally wouldn't want Sakura to be loving Naruto with part of her reasoning being that Sasuke is evil and therefore not an option. That would make it look as if Sakura would only be with Naruto because she couldn't get Sasuke as she wanted. Her confession to Naruto even left that impression.

That would establish Naruto as the silver medal. It would also leave people under the impression that if Sasuke had never become bad that Naruto would've never had a chance with Sakura. Proof of it is people's reactions to the Road to Ninja AU Sasuke being a flirt around Sakura and her liking it, some people joked about how Naruto now didn't have a chance against this charming Sasuke.

For Sakura to show that she loves Naruto beyond all doubt it need to be understood that he's the one she loves the most regardless of what she thought she could have. It needs to be established that she prefers Naruto for how he is more so than any ideal she has of what Sasuke could be.

Like Naruto, Sakura also knows that before Sasuke became dark he was able to care for people. If it can be shown that while Sakura still cares for Sasuke like Naruto does but now understands that what she feels for Naruto is true love then that would be it.

As for how on earth can Kishi manage all of that, only time can tell.

This post sums up how I feel about it, the last thing I want is for naruto to seem like the silver medal, I just hope that kishi can make it not seem like this.

And like people already said, if they're comparing that scene to Minakushi then it's obviously going to lean in the direction of Nejihina, not Naruhina. I mean come on, that would mean Kushina loved her baby romantically. Eww!

Indeed it would go NejiHina's side, however, when have I met a sane NaruHina shipper? Never... Not to be mean, but that's my experience.

Technically it would. Since Hinata loves Naruto and people are using NH when paralleling that particular scene to Minakushi, then consequentely that would mean Kushina loved Naruto the same way Hinata currently loves Naruto.

The difference between comparing Sakura to Kushina and Hinata to Kushina is their relevance to their actual partner, not the love Kushina has for Naruto.

When you compare Sakura to Kushina, you compare her attitude and thoughts she had of Minato and parallel them to what Sakura's attitude and thoughts are of Naruto. The comparison of Sakura and Kushina are their personalities and actions towards the one they love romantically.

When people compare Kushina to Hinata, they never relate their personalities or actions towards their romantic lover because they don't have anything in common. They have to compare Kushina's undying motherly love towards Naruto and Hinata's romantic love towards Naruto because Hinata's romantic love towards Naruto is nothing like Kushina's romantic love towards Minato.

That is why the NaruHina and MinaKushi parallel doesn't work. Their relationships are nothing at all compared to NaruSaku and MinaKushi. They have tried and failed to relate Hinata to Minato even, but that's WAY out of the water.

If that scene reminds them at all of MinaKushi, then it would be a NejiHina parallel. It still differs of course because Hinata was too far away to be pierced with Neji, but if she had, then it would have been a NejiHina / MinaKushi death parallel for sure. If some people want to make the argument that Hinata's love is in fact not romantic and is more of an.... extreme admiration/idol type of love, I guess that could be close to a motherly love? Eh....
