i am not an expert of these kinda shounen with love triangle as part of the plot, you know....but you must think that a such love triangle (a girl divided between 2 boys or viceversa) is rare in the canonical schedule of shounen of WSJ. I have read a lot of shounen with harem being involved into but never a triangle love like Girl/Boy+Boy. That sounds so...shoujo? Maybe the most near to this thing I have ever read was Ichigo100%, which was a harem shounen on WSJ yes, but in the end it was just a triangle love with a boy divided between 2 girls, but it isnt this case. There are Suzuka and Kimi no iru machi too, but the triangle love are pretty non existent there. In shounen genre (in a short, with boys as audience), love triangles are avoided since they aren't interested for it. At most they put harem situations with a lot of *censured*, just like Ichigo100% did. Or to love ru too.

From my observation reading shonen manga so far.
Two boy one girl love triangle rarely happen in shonen manga.
The common love triangle in shonen manga happen between two girls one boy triangle who could easily become a harem if you put a girl or more as love interest.

The shonen manga who has (clearly) love triangle between two boy and one girl are slamdunk, school rumble, and naruto.
There's some manga who has love triangle but resolve earlier or in the middle of the manga, ex : love hina and some adachi mitsuru work.

Slam dunk, school rumble, and naruto have similiarity.
All of it has one side love triangle. And the girl is in love with the dark boy.
Slam dunk end with open ending.
School rumble op, but in one volume sequel it imply that the nice guy didn't end with the girl he love.
Naruto, well you know, asspull.

And then I read a manga with subplot like naruto. And at the end of the day the nice guy doesn't get the girl. It seem like even in shonen manga, girl love seem like a big deal, and for some reason they will not change it. And since the nice guy who love the girl, it's okay if they don't get girl.
I don't say that nice guy = get the girl.

Various guy movies where the hero wins over the hot chick from the jerk

The good guy getting his love interest isn't actually rare in fiction and indeed it is the way things should go if the alternative is an abusive stereotypical bad boy relationship.
It's only in Naruto that the hero's love interest chooses the bad guy. It doesn't happen very often.

Well, the problem is, it's offter borring and obvious. In Naruto it took one - 15 years to develope that, and 2 chapters to ruin it, not even ruin it, just avoid anything that involves both Naruto and Sakura.

This goes to show how unusual THE LAST's sales are. The sales for the movie tickets of THE LAST has decreased unusually when they should have earned a lot more for a movie whose earned five hundred million yen in their first sales.

Let's compare to other anime.
One Piece final sales 6.8 billion yen
Evangelion 510 million yen/ 4 billion yen

Also, their profit doesn't seem promising either.
THE LAST shown in 273 theaters sales 1.75 billion yen
Gintama shown in 128 theaters sales 1.68 billion yen

And Gintama has barely done much advertising......
THE LAST's profitability is laughable at this point.

This is what happened in Digimon. The producer thought Tai/Sora was "cliche" which is why he randomly stuck Sora with Matt to counter the norm. God who gives a kitten if it's "cliche"? If it's the couple that makes the most sense then it should be canon regardless of what people will think about it! Love triangles should be avoided all together. They are corny cheesy and cause shipping drama.

Love is irrational and you don't reason to love. I could agree with that.
But I disagree when ss doesn't need a reason but you need a reason for naruto love and to kill NS and a movie to explain the reason why and how naruto fall in love with Hinata. Double standard at the best.

Well, it's something that "too good to be true", I didn't saw Digimon (well, back it my childhood, and I don't remember ending), but fot Naruto it didn't mean anything, "clishe" or not, NS was not only "pairing" as it is, is was a prot relevant part of story, more then "MC love intrest" it was connected to generations (Jiraiya, Obito, Minato), it was characters development for both. But where it all went? Nowhere, Naruto retconed to retard, Sakura retconet to 0 point.

That kitten, doesn't do anything to NS, only justify NH/SS, but problem is that you either love person for some reason, or despite some reason. Love is based on something, or it's not love, but something other. Sakura loved Sasuke for some reason? No, he was just a simbol, "cool guy" and she had rivaly game with Ino. She knew nothing of him.
We already saw Naruto's reason.
Hinata - another case, she worshiped every Naruto move, she didn't give 2 kittens about why Naruto did what he did, or what was his goal, she just saw her version of "cool guy" and stick to it.
Karin, as fangirl as she could be seen - had solid reason to fall for Sasuke, he saved her life back in part 1. That's more then "cool guy".
But oh well, it's us salty fans, who cared for story, not true fans who are happy with this ending.
