I'm just going to leave this here.

Let's see the current movie ranking.
*1 **5474 劇場版
*2 **1699 96 hours requiem
*3 **1515 Baymax
*4 **1106 Morning sun of Vancouver
*5 **1048 Youkai Watch
*6 ***809 96 hours/requiem
*7 ***447 Hobbit
*8 ***335 Gone girl
*9 ***260 海月姫
10 ***253 Aoharaide
The sales are 1.75 billion yen. Their sales for the first week was a grand 5 hundred million yen, which you've got to admit was impressive. Now, let's compare to the other movies which had earned 5 hundred million yen in their first week, showing in Japan in 2014.
Forever 0(2013年末公開) First sales 540 million yen/ Final sales 8.5 billion(15.7倍推移)
GODZILLA ゴジラ 510 million yen/ 3.14 billion yen (6.2倍推移)
テルマエ・ロマエⅡ 490 million yen / 4.31 billion yen(8.8倍推移)
Transformer Lost Age 480 million yen/2.96 billion yen(6.1倍推移)
Even the famous kitten movie
Lupin the third 440 million yen/ 2.4 billion yen(5.5倍推移)
This goes to show how unusual THE LAST's sales are. The sales for the movie tickets of THE LAST has decreased unusually when they should have earned a lot more for a movie whose earned five hundred million yen in their first sales.
Let's compare to other anime.
One Piece final sales 6.8 billion yen
Evangelion 510 million yen/ 4 billion yen
Also, their profit doesn't seem promising either.
THE LAST shown in 273 theaters sales 1.75 billion yen
Gintama shown in 128 theaters sales 1.68 billion yen
And Gintama has barely done much advertising......
THE LAST's profitability is laughable at this point.
