I don't know to be honest. Kids read Naruto too, what kind of message is this sending to them. Part 1 was dear to me because watching it as a kid, it taught me to believe and never give up. Kids, heck even adults, are influenced by what they see and hear. This manga had a negative portrayal of women in general. I mean look at Sasuke, he tried to kill Sakura multiple times and didn't have any hesitation when he had to go through Karin to get to Danzo. In the end, all was forgiven, he got with the girl he tried to kill and treated like she was nothing and no one seemed to care at all. Sure, it does teach redemption, but what about consequences.
 
These are things that the author needs to be aware of, he needs to be aware of his audience and the message he sends to them. If this was a more mature manga, then it still wouldn't be good, it's not exactly something catered to kids.
 
Naruto is different.

Yeah I agree, thats why I think his potrayal at romance sucks and he should have thought more thoroughly on the way he wanted his relationships to interact because like any other author, you have to be aware of what kind of message you are sending to your readers.

After lurking this thread for two days, I'm feeling a lot less frustrated and more amused, hah.

 

What's up with with all the OOC and de-development going on with my favourite heroines lately though. First Clara in Dark Water and now Sakura. 

 

And don't get me started on Lenalee.

Two year hiatus what two year hiatus

I will forever be amused that the Harry Potter fandom came to us on Tumblr and offered us their "Epilogue What Epilogue" tag, though.

Yeah I read some moron who said that they're glad Naruto got with Hinata because at least Hinata had feelings for him. I responded with well if this manga was called "Hinata" then I would agree her feelings are relevant, However since this series is called "Naruto" and Naruto never showed any moment at all where he cared for Hinata romantically, he was focused on Sakura for 699 chapters, I tend to think his feelings for Sakura are much more important then his feelings for a non-existent entity that true may have feelings for him but those feelings are irrelevant in the scope of Naruto's story.

 

Of course that was before this asspull of a movie. The fact that people are saying oh don't worry the movie will clear up the manga. I pretty much called them out and say do you not see anything wrong with that.

 

A MOVIE SHOULD NOT BE WHAT TELLS YOUR STORY FOR YOU! A MOVIE IS FILLER IN AN ANIME SERIES, IT HAS NO RELEVANCE TO THE MANGA! THE FACT THAT YOU THINK IT'S OKAY FOR KISHI TO SAVE STUFF FOR THE MOVIE IS SO SCREWED UP! PEOPLE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO WATCH A MOVIE TO UNDERSTAND A MANGA, PERIOD! IT JUST REEKS OF GREED AND TRYING TO MAKE A QUICK BUCK WHICH IS WHY NOBODY SHOULD SUPPORT IT.

 

Then they said something along the lines of well Kishi is doing the movie because the manga would have gone off for 50 more chapters to show the development.

 

I basically ended the argument there by saying thank you for stating exactly what I was thinking. That Kishi was forced into doing this ending. Why because he had 700 chapters to develop a relationship between Hinata and Naruto or at the very least show Naruto is interested in her. He did no such thing whatsoever so thank you for confirming that it was indeed a huge asspull.

 

Suffice to say I won the argument. Oh but of course they got the canon yeah at the tarnishment and character assassination of all the characters.

However, that Sakura wasn't the same one that Kishi had been developing all these years. He merely made her like that so people would be more accepting of NH tbh

Naruto's the one who said he would never give up, yet he gave up. Thats not maturity, its regression.

Agreed. Naruto doesn't deserve Sakura. But the fact that he didn't even confess to her after he brought Sasuke back is completely illogical and OOC. From a fictional standpoint however, NS sends a much better message and resolution than NH. NH's not bad, just not as developed for a Main Character pairing.
