What was it? Too busy on how to kittening lie to us on NS? I'm convinced. All good intentions ended after Pain.
The only jutsu Naruto showed after that was the Odama Rasengan but it wasn't something deadly or dangerous for him to be classified as "kinjutsu" so yeah plot hole it was misleading just like NS & MK Oh and you can put Sakura's Genjutsu ability in here
