I think I can understand that. Here in my country, it seems that the reason the last is just released by one cinema company is because anime isn't really a big thing. So releasing movie to more than one cinema comp might be a wrong step.

Forgive me for saying this, but I don't think those standards would apply to The Philippines. Do you have any proof that shows SM Cinema being the only organisation to acquire broadcasting rights for The Last?

That's alright. Tbh, I don't really know about standard. But I've read it somewhere that "The last in Philippines is released by SM Cinema" so I take it that SM Cinema will be the only one that will release the movie.

That's how it is here in the states too, I think it's just one cinema company that is not really popular because anime isn't that big, only anime movie that had been on the big theatres are 3 of the Pokemon movies and the Miyazaki films

I think here is popular, the cinema company I mean, but it is only on big cities. It doesn't spread everywhere.

I'm still waiting for When Marnie was there from Studio Ghilbli. You're gonna tell me that a kitten movie like the Last gets released before a movie from the best Japanese animation studio in the world?!

Yeah, plus Fairy Tail has a good array of female characters. Another manga sometimes that don't treat women well,e ven if it can do better than Naruto did, is One Piece.

Well apparently it's been delayed in at least in some cinemas. Don't know it if pertains to all of The Phillipines. 

 

 

It's only being delayed in SM cinema. I would imagine that since there has been no word on what other film organisations are reacting that the film is still set to premiere in their theatres.

That's probably how it is. It's still strange though. I mean why bother at all then? By the time the movie finally premieres in SM cinema, everyone else will already have seen it, either via other cinema chains or via piracy.

and yup it's true. kishi and SP are losing money with this huge delay. and considering how long the delay is, i'm sure the hype will have long faded and people will lose interest. i hope "technical difficulties" reaches all the places the last is expected to screen. 

I still find it hilarious that they're pushing it so hard for a western audience. They seem rather confident that this movie will be able to compete on the big screen. What if the movie is not succesful enough? Won't it be taken off the program? I still think this is a huge gamble. 

 

Oh yes! Just read it too! For a second I thought the delayed would make the ending different, like, waiting for rewrite? But that's what I was thinking. Go back to sane-self, it's not gonna happened. 

Nah. SP would rather smother themselves to death with their own body pillows than alter their magnum opus. 

 

I actually don't mind otaku's, as long as they keep to themselves. There are already plenty of series out there that caters specifically to them. All I asked was for Naruto to have a decent ending and then I could die happy, but they just couldn't leave it alone...

SM Cinema is the only one who will premiere the The Last movie. Just like the Road to Ninja. They are the only ones who acquire the rights to premiere it. SM cinema is the largest cinema here in the Philippines, it has branches in almost every cities in the county

Not that I heard of. He already retired and the studio shut down T_T

I've seen most of his movies, except for Ponyo and Porco Rosso. Will watch them soon. Oh, and Grave of the Fireflies and The Tale of Princess Kaguya from Isao Takahata, too.
