This has been bothering me for a long time, but I still don't know whether to ship ShikaIno or ShikaTema. Both?

Yeah, ChouIno has followed much the same path as Narusaku. We knew way back in part 1 that Chouji had feelings for Ino, Shikamaru knew he did, and encouraged Chouji. Shikamaru doesn't have an interest in Ino that way. Another point I've never seen any evidence that Ino had any interest in Shikamaru. Where even in part 1 when Chouji was hurt she was concerned and visited him regularly, including one time we see her with a big basket of fruit.

I prefer ChoujiIno aswell, its the whole ''girl is not impressed by boy at first'' thing all over again (though the same could be said about ShikaIno to some degree aswell i guess), it would be a big improvement to Ino's character, also there have been slight hints of ChoIno being quite possible.

Might be Bias from me though, because i really like Chouji and specifically the Akimichi clan's techniques, they kick ass , also Shikamaru already ''has'' Temari and a fangirl in the decoding department.

ChoIno is actually the only pairing that i care (slightly) about, next to NaruSaku.

I guess I agree that Shika/Tema and Cho/Ino have been hinted more than Shika/Ino, and are more likely to happen, but I guess I still prefer the latter. As far as supporting character romances go, I generally don't care much about canonicity, I just lean towards whichever characters I like better. I liked Shika/Tema for a while, but there's so few interactions between those two anymore, I just lost interest. Temari's awesome, but being a nin from another village, she almost rivals Hinata in lack of panel-time. I do like Cho/Ino as well, but I like Shikamaru a little more than Chouji, so I tend to ship him with their female partner. I guess I have a tough time shipping a couple when the ship doesn't really interest me.

But I really don't care what Kishi does as far as supporting characters go. He could make Shikamaru marry Chouji and Ino marry Kiba, and I wouldn't care as long as N/S happens.

On the topic of supporting character romances, who do most of you like to ship Hinata with? We see Hinata so little, I can never really decide which Hinata ship I prefer. Keep going with the Team 10 discussion if you want, I'm just curious.

^^ Well, either she's going to be alone or she's going to be with Kiba, but that thought was due to me reading a good amount of fics with kibahina and, for the most part, it seems to be ok. But Kishi might go another direction with her.

I definitely won't deny that there are more ShikaTema moments. It seems more likely than ShikaIno. Maybe I missed something, but to me saying that Chouji definitely likes(or liked) Ino is pure speculation. But I'm curious to know where it hints at it in the manga if it does?
Hmm...KibaHina seems like the most likely Hinata pairing. Some people like ShinoHina but ehhhh

Cho/Ino also redeems Ino more than a Shika/Ino pairing. By her accepting Chouji, it shows that Ino as moved on from the surface level attention of her youth (fixing Sakura's hair, the fixation on Sasuke, etc.). With Shikamaru, there is no change or development that has to take place for her to recognize the value of his worth. But she has to have character development (even if it's only hinted at or taken as happening completely behind the scenes) before she can be with Chouji.

As for Hinata, I feel strongly that she's going to pair with another Hyuuga, specifically that one who protected her during the Pain invasion. He was a very specific character with a very specific interaction with her. I think it's too significant to be overlooked. Hinata has had no development, and there has been not bar set for her to cross. She just is. So I think her marriage will follow suit. She won't break any traditions with it.

In comparison, Neji has strived to change his life, his fate. He has had character development. I think this will play out in his marriage choice as well. Probably TenTen, in my book. I can't imagine him turning around and "toeing the party line" by choosing someone within his clan and being trapped into that way of life. I think he will still be supportive of his clan in the future, but he will do it on his own terms.

That also goes for the thought of Neji pairing with Hinata. It may be more accepted in Japan and feudal clans to marry cousins, but for Neji to do so would be to unravel all of his development. And Hinata would only gain a little bump from accepting Neji and his new thoughts on the clan.

^^ I agree. However the problem with most side-pairings, there's little interactions between the two of them, but that's due to that part is really irrelevant to the story that is being told. But like everything else, it would be nice.

They should have heavily build the fillers and omakes more into moments like those, instead of two pairings that has no shot of happening, and they could keep the positive narusaku filler moments.

Well, to be fair, I could not care less on who Sasuke ends up with, but if he somehow stays alive and redeemed in the end, then I guess he would end up with Karin and it probably would not be that bad. Wasn't there this crazy omake scene, where Karin tried to be seductive and all of that towards Sasuke in the hot springs?

Never gonna happen. Sasuke is a demented psychopath incapable of love and compassion which is why Naruto should get over his past "friendship" with Sasuke and put that bastard out of his misery already. Any pairing with Sasuke in it is completely unlikely at this point in time no matter how hard you try to convince someone otherwise. That includes sasukarin as well. Besides, didn't she decide to not be involved with Sasuke anymore at the end of the Five Kage Summit Arc? Because from my understanding she explicitly said that she was done with Sasuke and it wouldn't be a smart thing to still cling to an a**hole who doesn't give a crap about you and has tried to kill you in order to kill someone responsible for his clans destruction despite the fact that you have been taken hostage by this man.


Besides, Sasuke has always stricken me as either an asexual or a deeply subconscious closet homosexual. Though I think the former assumption is more likely. :True:

^^ Hmmmmm, I see and pretty much agree to that, but what if there's like a 5%, chance glimmer of chance that he's able to somehow, someway, get his own head out of his ass, and see clearly and then he could be able to somehow see the light, and can think clearly again. Then maybe he could find love, not Sakura of course, she will figuretivley blow him off, nicely and gently and probably a bit agressivley.

Wouldn't there be a chance that he could find, oh who am i kidding myself, he's asexual, don't know why people make pairings with him other than his personality alone and not his actions.

So people are willing to dismiss SasuSaku because he tried to kill her three times, but people are able to ship SasuKarin? Smh. Sasuke has two options for romance. The first, and the one he's currently flirting with, is his own revenge. The second would be intimate knowledge of a kunai. If Karin were to somehow come back to loving Sasuke I would hate her just as much as I hated the Uchiha fangirls in Part 1.

I could also get into Kiba/Hina, if they hinted at it more. Other than having a similar personality to Naruto, only more abrasive, the only hint(s) I've seen for that pairing was during the Chuunin Exams. He seemed genuinely concerned about Hinata, telling her not to fight Neji or Gaara. It seemed like Hinata cared about Kiba too, since she wouldn't even root for Naruto during their fight (though that might just have been her being afraid of Kiba). They also seemed pretty close during the final round, going together to see Shino's fight.

The only thing that really bothers me about Hinata being paired with Neji, Kiba, or Shino is that, based on their conversation at the end of Part I, all three seem to be aware of her feelings for Naruto and not be fazed by it. I guess I got the impression that they were pushing her to go say goodbye to him before he left.

Hinata/Ko definitely seems like an interesting idea though. Like tricksie said, Kishi went through the trouble of giving his character a name and personality (sort of), so he could very well be Hinata's husband in the future. At least, there's a definite possibility of him returning to plot in some way, shape, or form.

Also, what are your guys' thoughts about SasuKarin?

I'm sort of iffy about Sasu/Karin. I don't really care for any Sasuke pairing (I guess I sort of like Sasu/Sai, but that's more just because they'd look like a funny couple, if Kishi were to take that route). However, I've sort of come to terms with the fact that Sasuke's going to be redeemed in the end. He might gain redemption through death, but I feel like Naruto wouldn't really accept that after everything he's gone though to save him. But if he is redeemed, he'll have to apologize to Naruto and Sakura, so why not Karin too? If Sakura is capable of forgiving Sasuke after trying to kill her (she still believes in a happy ending for Team 7), then I'd like to think Karin is also capable of that. I guess my stance is, if Sasuke is paired with anyone, Karin is the most likely choice. But that's assuming he is paired with anyone, since there's always the chance he dies post-redemption, or just as a hermit, letting his 'cursed clan' die out. But we'll see.
