A bit out of topic but can it also mean that kishi had a bad romantic life which may lead into why he may be a bit bad at developing romance?

Don't when he was young, but he's been happily married for several years to a woman, (one that Oda- manga creator of One Piece, is said to have said resembles Sakura and that Kishimoto himself stated he asked for her insights on writing Kushina. They have two young children and the older is a known to be a girl.

CRAP!!!!!!!! I JUST THOUGHT OF SOMETHING!!!!!! Okay so I'm guessing that obsessed NH fans who are also Tales fans will use the "VESPERIA"(Tales of Vesperia) argument against us! They will GO ON about how Estelle who has pink hair and green eyes did not like Flynn who has blonde hair and blue eyes but Yuri who has black hair AND black eyes! S***!!!!!!!
OH we'll never hear the end of it IF they discover this! Okay if you don't understand what I'm talking about that's okay but I know Gravenimage and Boom...Winning will know, and trust me this will be very IRRITATING to hear!!!! okay so BE PREPARED for that argument coming from NH fans IF they are also tales fans! OH and NEVER mention Vesperia to NH fandoms!!! NO NO NO!!!

as to the debate were not so much discussing crack pairings as choosing 1 pairing with either Sakura or Naruto in it, and then for a page or so discussing the pairing as opposed to NaruSaku.

Dude chill. That's not really proof of NH by using characters from other stories who look the same. There's no reason to panic at all. If you're going to panic at every desperate attempt of them making NH justifiable then you might just die of heart attack.

I know that a lot of Japanese mangakas/seiyuus/singers etc. have their of personal blogs (like Junko Takeuchi - Naruto's voice), Kubo Tite has his official twitter page. They usually post their pictures with friends/sometimes family... but seems like Kishimoto doesn't like this king of stuff (i've only seen just 1 single pic of Kishi so far). I guess we'll never get to see his family, unless we'll become obsessed stalkers like Hinata, lol.

I know, But I'm not talking about it being valid proof I'm saying IF they catch wind of it they will get SOME sense of false hope and start abusing it as an argument, Saying repeatedly about How Estelle is like Sakura, Flynn is like Naruto, and Yuri is Like Sasuke So Naruto WILL wind up with Hinata because Sakura will Still like Sasuke like how Estelle likes Yuri over and over Like those useless NH filler moments and we'll ALL get headaches and stress overload! They must NEVER FIND OUT because they try to pair EVERY couple they can to comare to NH and we all face palm and head bang until our foreheads turn crimson due the the infinite insanity of how silly it is. Not to mention we can't reason with them that it is pointless and useless for proof That's what I'm worried about; the way they use any senseless and "nothing to do with" evidence rabidly as an argument as though it was relevent and comparable can REALLY get an a sane person's d*** nerves! Oh and I hear the game IS good but the PS3 port is only in Japanese unless you don't mind shipping it your house and playing it with out translation the still have the 360 those

Seriously, you need to quit panicking over this. You are going nuts over an argument they might make that's rooted in the superficial appearance of the characters based on a series that has no connection to Naruto? That's a little overboard, dood.

One thing to always keep in mind about comparisons and pairing debates: it's nothing more than an intellectual exercise unless the person making them can provide evidence that one influences the other and does so in the manner that the person asserts. If they can't, it doesn't mean anything.

Sakura-Gai.....Gai would driver her nuts. I have trouble finding any girl in the series he wouldn't drive crazy. He's a cool character and good person, but he has some weird tendencies that will probably turn a lot of potential romantic interests off.

@Phantom: LOL, don't worry about it. I've seen several romantic subplots, in both Western and Japanese works, that seem pretty darn similar to the romance in Naruto. Sometimes the Naruto/Sakura pairing wins, sometimes the Naruto/Hinata, Sasuke/Sakura pairing wins. From what I've seen, we have a lot more on our side, the comparisons that hurt us just seem more disconcerting I guess.

It's also important to note that pairing comparisons are very rarely perfect (if ever). I'm sure you could find plenty of plenty of parallels to NaruSaku in the ToV pairings if you tried hard enough. It's one of the reasons why it's sort of pointless to use that sort of thing as evidence.
For example, a lot of people like to compare the Harry Potter pairings to Naruto. Here's my problem with that. Between Harry and Ron, which one starts with plenty of talent (Sasuke), and which one has to work hard to improve himself (Naruto)? This is why I never try to draw parallels between unrelated series, there's always two sides to it.

This is key right here. Unless Kishi says he used at as an inspiration, we can't assume anything. The only inspiration he claimed to have for the romantic subplot, to the best of my knowledge, was Slam Dunk, and I believe the pairings were unresolved in the end. Hopefully that's not the case here.

On a side note, I've never actually played Vesperia. I don't personally own an Xbox, and I don't care for fan-translations. But pairing-wise, Symphonia was my favorite. I love how you can basically pick your pairing (even if it's still a little open-ended). One of my favorite favorite parts of the spin-off/sequel was the Flanoir 'follow-up' scene for Lloyd's partner. I watched Lloyd hug Sheena like five times.

I wasn't going to say anything, but since you seem to insist on this line of conversation I'm going to stop lurking for a second.

Comparing Naruto, Sakura, and Sasuke to Flynn, Estelle, and Yuri, is simply absurd on any level. The only resemblance between any of them is hair color. Their personalities, situations, facial structures, and just about anything else I could care to mention, are completely different. Frankly, I think you need to replay ToV. If you'd actually like to talk specifics as to why they are so different, PM me. It really has nothing to do with NaruSaku or otherwise.

And in the future, if someone brings up a totally unrelated manga or video game in a pairing debate... ignore them. They're obviously grasping at straws and actually have no intelligent argument. Or they're trolling. Either way, it's best not to respond at all.

I've never played Vesperia but I have a friend who is very into the Tales series (I've only played Symphonia myself, which was awesome btw). But, as far as I remember, isn't Estelle the main female and Yuri the main male character? Wouldn't that better coincide with NaruSaku than another pairing anyways? Most people don't judge pairings by appearances, or definitely shouldn't if they do. There is nothing to argue as to appearances, but people do argue personality. So yeah, just another reason why it would be ridiculous to claim all pink haired/green eyed girls have to be with all blue eyed/blonde haired boys to make us feel better :/


Anways, what do people think of Gaara/Sakura, since Gaara is a character who has traveled a path very much like Naruto, but whose major difference is personality.
