And comparing Hinata to Bella Swan is still insulting to the latter. Bella did not "destroy her franchise just to "become a couple with Edward" now did she? the couple was set from the start and no retcon was needed for the entire plot to get the love birds together.
Hinata is a VIRUS to to the entire Naruto series because her god-damned worshiper cult would not STFU about making her the oh- so important trophy wife of the main character and needed her to be more relevant and prominent than she actually was in the story

It's like I keep saying for so many years. I don't hate Hinata but her fans made me hate her.
Exactly. I have no problem with her character. I HATE her (unreasonable) fans. I hate how they react to her. I know I seem overly harsh on her character at times but that has nothing to do with her character, it has to do with everyone that deludes them selves that she is and is suppose to be Naruto's "goddess wife"

There are many characters who are very similar to Hinata that are better in every way compared to her and yet still have that shy personality.
Take a look at Aoi Futaba from Cat Planet Cuties.
She is shy like Hinata and often expressed great love for the main character, but as well she is not afraid to put up a gun (literally) if need be and doesn't revolve around Kio. She is her own person and does things not only for herself, but for others and at times for Kio when she wants to impress him.
It shows how a character like Hinata can be written properly and yet still retain some of the good aspect of said character. Unlike Hinata who seems to be stagnant and pathetic from the time she is born to the time she is in her 40s.

Or as I brought up in the other thread...
"Much better shows that tell a much better story and character development at that.
As I brought up before, look at the anime, New Game!. Two seasons of 12 episodes and you got a character, Hifumi Takimoto, who starts off arguably WORSE than Hinatatas in the shy department (unable to vocally communicate with others; does so via the company's instant messenger instead) who goes from that to, while not turning a 180 into an extrovert, is not only vocally speaking to others without any problem, but is even seen as good enough to lead a team for new video game projects by the managers and such. And all this takes place over maybe a little over a couple years or so.
Even now, as an "adult", I still can't see how anyone could possibly trust Hinatatas to lead anything much less entrust their lives to her. Heck, the way the spawn walk all over her shows that she couldn't even be an Academy teacher leading children."
Any decent action figure or collectible is. It's why I could never imagine collecting stuff like that. You've got to have a lot of disposable income to afford it.

Let me give you guys an example:
This is Sophitia Alexandra from Soul Calibur VI. I purchased the Collector's Edition when it came out and let me tell you guys, it was worth paying $160 including the game because of the extreme details of the statue (And yes, they even gave her panties underneath the skirt, though its plastic, for you pervs!) I was never the type of collecting statues or over-the-top figurines because of my opinions and plus finance. But the reason I purchased this edition instead of the other versions was I wanted the art book and it gave me a steel case with announcer clips and a soundtrack. (My only disappointment was it should had added the Season Pass so I don't have to worry about paying $30 extra but alas).
What's Happening with the Naruto series as of now!

Pics not working for me, Rock. I'll throw one up of the collectors edition from Google.
I think the only collectors edition I ever bought was for Batman: Arkham Asylum. I felt like it was a rip-off for what you got and quickly realized it was just gonna take up space, so I never did it again. The advertised batarang was a sticking point; I don't remember what I expected, but I didn't think it would be a hard plastic thing grafted to a stand it couldn't be removed from. I kinda felt silly after that.
Soul Caliber's such a weird series to me. I played a couple and I remember being unable to make heads or tails of whatever the plot was supposed to be in the last one I screwed around with. It was IV, I think. The one with the Star Wars guest fighters.

Yeah, I hadn't played 4 completely. I tried it and Broken Destiny for the PSP... hated it. It was worse than 3, gameplay-wise. I don't know what the hell I was doing. Plot wise:
Soul Calibur 4 and 5
Conclusion was just all over the place and it gotten worse when 5 came out. Most of the characters were missing or changed: Sophitia killed herself and aligned herself in evil, just to save her daughter Pyrrha from Tira's grasp. Cassandra suddenly got lost in the Astral Chaos. Ivy and Maxi suddenly became immortal. Kilik and Xianghua got together and she had a child but had to abandon it and married someone else and had more kids... (I'll get to that in a minute). Mitsurugi fought Argol but their battle were "interrupted". Raphael suddenly became the next Nightmare. Cervantes became human again after escaping the Astral Chaos.
Now, 5... I played it but didn't go to the story because the Soul team was on a budget and the plot became the worse of the worse in the franchise, quite similar to Naruto's, however the latter's damage was worse The game was trying to pull off a similar attempt like Street Fighter III or Tekken 3 with the "New Generation" situation.
...it didn't work. So the plotline was focused on Patroklos, Sophitia's son, but it was primarily focused on him and Pyrrha with some... "incestuous" tone. Yet the team said they left out about 75% of the entire story because of the deadline. Many characters weren't resolved or wasn't even shown. Taki went missing so her student, Natsu (with a Naruto-like storyline, having a demon inside her) went to find her, she teamed up with Leixia, Xianghua's daughter, met Maxi and Xiba (who is get this: the child of Kilik and Xianghua, not knowing on both sides that he and Leixia are siblings!) That went nowhere. Then, we have Viola, nothing about her but somehow there were hints that she's actually AMY, the girl Raphael adopted, who went missing and may have amnesia. Then there weren't any info about other characters and their fates such as Zasalamel, Talim, Seong Mina and others.
The game became the "eyesore".
6 is going back to Soul Calibur 1's storyline (since that became the pinnacle of the series) with some "changes".
6 Plot
And by changes, I mean a brand new timeline that events that occurred in 2 beyond may or may not happened.
What's Happening with the Naruto series as of now!
At least Bella was the main heroine of her respective franchise. Hinata was not, was never intended to be, and IF she was, Kishimoto sure went about a strange way representing her as such.
Exactly. I have no problem with her character. I HATE her (unreasonable) fans. I hate how they react to her. I know I seem overly harsh on her character at times but that has nothing to do with her character, it has to do with everyone that deludes them selves that she is and is suppose to be Naruto's "goddess wife"
As I said, I just felt nothing about Hinata before the ending. I hate how her fans praise her for nothing, refuse to see her as anything less than perfect and attack any of us who feel differently about her (shippers or not). Fans can do a lot to damage their favorite characters
Spoiler warning: Take a guess who I am in the comments.
That's a pretty nice figurine, kudos to whomever made it.

I generally don't get my proverbial panties tied in a knot too much over the plots of fighting games (I'm used to them being pretty crap), but yikes, sounds like something really went wrong with Soul Calibur in that department. Mortal Kombat is at least providing a comprehensible (if not good) story for their reboot games, and DOA fixed the story of their first four games with Dimensions.
I just got myself Soul Calibur 6. I need to play it, but DAMN do I love web-slinging.

I know. I got Spider-Man and Spyro Reignited Trilogy on Christmas. I can't put the controller down. But do play Soul Calibur VI. Its gameplay is so much better but couldn't compete with 1 and 2's. Although, be prepare to look out on Reverse Edge mechanic, its spammable but easily to avoid by either sidestepping or using break attacks (A+B) for guarantee lethal hits.
What's Happening with the Naruto series as of now!
So while searching through some Naruto boards filled with Hinatards and Sakutards as they call them. Yes, we have Sakutards too and I was reading all these posts about them and I noticed a pattern.
(For those who don't know, a "-tard" are usually people who are so obsessed with a character that the character can do no wrong to them regardless of what they do. I am stating this to establish my foundation for what I am going to type)
Both Hinatards and Sakutards constantly attack the other character in an ongoing war of who is better "Sakura or Hinata." While we here do think Sakura is better than Hinata, we don't feel Sakura is flawless. Some of the arguments they make are...I don't want to say are false, but not telling the whole story or missing a point that comes with the concept.
"Sakura was a b**ch to Naruto in beginning"
While this is not false, it didn't remain true. They forget she changed and respected Naruto later. She understood. They also forget they were kids in the beginning and most kids don't have much sense of understanding unless they go through traumatic things. This occurs in real life. It mostly has to do with kids not understanding most things in life. They forget that Sakura developed into a better person and in the words of Paarthunax, "What is better? To be born good or to overcome your evil nature through great effort?" Not saying Sakura is evil, but that being a better person despite bad things in the past makes better people.
"Hinata was the only one who loved Naruto in the beginning while Sakura hated him."
Okay, again, while not untrue they are forgetting so many details. Hinata may have had a crush in Naruto in the beginning, but she was not open or supportive of him when he was alone and wanted someone. Hinata did NOT fill Naruto's loneliness. She wasn't there next to him on the swing, when standing by himself, or crying in the corner. The whole "she was shy" is not an excuse for her not at least being a friend. Look at other anime where a character was shunned by others and at least one other person was willing to be there for them regardless what other said. Yes Sakura was mean to Naruto, but so was everyone else. Kiba, Shikamaru, Ino, Neji,...his entire class shunned him because they saw him as "the loser." I could argue Sasuke was too, but he was more apathetic than mean. Sasuke wasn't exactly comforting and support of Naruto either until he knew what Naruto's life was. If Sasuke wasn't an orphan like Naruto, would he have a connection with him? Probably not. Sasuke would be just the same. Heck, even in Road to Ninja which Kishimoto said is basically a what if story, Sasuke was more concerned with womanizing than comforting Naruto's pain. Over time everyone changed. Later everyone started to respect Naruto. First it was Sasuke, then it was Sakura, then it was Kiba, Neji, Shikamaru. The more they understood the more they stopped being mean to him and soon they began to respect Naruto for who he is. You know what they call that? "Development."
This argument is just silly because they completely ignore contexts and the story itself. Both "fans" are taking a few points within the story and then extrapolating it like it was their entire characters. Meanwhile, they only point out the flaws of the other. If you put out the flaws of their characters they push back by saying things like "Well, at least didn't do this thing YOUR character did" and on and on and on.
While all of this is going on, they forgot one of the biggest details of all. The writers of this manga screwed up the entire thing up and destroyed every single character. That all of the problems they have with these characters is a direct cause of the editors messing with the story and changing the focus of the story.
Going to an example:
They want Sakura to not be obsessive over Sasuke, but then downright rage if you suggest she get over Sasuke and be with Naruto. They want it both ways and they can't have it. She is either obsessed with Sasuke or she gets over him. At the later point in the story, the middle option was not feasible because they never gave indication to Sasuke giving a care about Sakura.
Another one I see is Sakura's confession and the fact that "she lied and that is wrong."
Again, they wanted SS canon. If they made NS canon, then that scene changes context to Sakura being the one to tell the truth and Naruto be the Sasuke obsessed dumbass. You either make Sakura the bad guy or Naruto the bad guy in this context and seeing how they don't want Naruto to be seen as the bad guy....hindsight 20/20.
Hinata is no different.
"Hinata's entire character is satelliting Naruto."
Easy solution. Make her doing things that have nothing to do with Naruto. If they gave her a mindset where she can prioritize things that have nothing to do with Naruto like...oh I don't know...THE HYUGA CIVIL WAR then maybe Hinata wouldn't be so bland. She may be a side-character or background character, but considering how they wasted all potential development and screentime on her to push her "Naruto-kun" agenda...then the fault is on the writers who decided that he only defining trait is her love for Naruto. Work to get stronger? No. Work to solve her clan's problems? No. Work to prove her father wrong that she is not weak? Not only did she fail this, but she proved him right. Again, you are writing a world where you can do anything you want....and they do...this. You can just tell where their prioritize lie.
Yes, I understand she is a background characters, but they pushed her to the front on purpose and they still failed to give her any relevance beyond "Naruto-kun."
Out of all the arguments I have seen between these two "fans," they forget to realize that a lot of these problems they point out, all the negative aspects of both characters, could have been solved by making NS canon. Yes, a lot of other problems need more work than just this, but making NS canon still would have solve so many issues.
NS becomes canon:
Sakura no longer becomes Sasuke obsessed, showed she has truly grown, and actually shows she can be herself when Naruto is around and not like now where she turns into Hinata when Sasuke makes the scene. Alot of people would have been happy with this Sakura as shown where smart Naruto fans depict Sakura being more independent being with Naruto than being with Sasuke.
Hinata would be seen as a stronger female for letting Naruto be happy and have focus on something other than how she can get this man to notice her. She could become a leader of her people, make the differences, and Neji might have not have died. She could be more than just Naruto's slave and housewife. I say she is a slave as she is willing to literally drop everything to go to Naruto. "Kids are danger? Not right now, Naruto needs a new scarf."
(Remembers the hand drinking scene from the Last and cringes realizing that this is just...disgusting. Not because of not being hygenic, but just how despite the scene is to get that ooey gooey factor)
Yeah, I hadn't played 4 completely. I tried it and Broken Destiny for the PSP... hated it. It was worse than 3, gameplay-wise. I don't know what the hell I was doing. Plot wise:

Me to any and all "-tards" in the this fandom.
Well for Sakura, it was not so much that they were ignoring context as much as they were ignoring how the context changed from the beginning. Sakura changed her feelings regarding Naruto quite early. as we see but does her hate cult see or care about that? NOPE. She willl always be that squeaky, Sasuke fan-girl b***h that they saw at the beginning. forget all the times that she has been doing what Naruto's actual bewbelicious "waifu" Hinata should have been doing like encouraging him, comforting him spending time with him off the clock, etc. That either doesn't matter or it is only platonic. But guess what? We got the last laugh because Apparently any Hinata developments didn't mean $#&% either
With Hinata, they were definitely ignoring context. She always had a crush on Naruto, but so what ? she never talked to him, never comforted him when he was alone or miserable, or did anything that a love interest SHOULD DO in that scenario. she was no different than an apathetic bystander truth be told, but because she LOVES the village pariah Hinatatheists praise as a "pure hearted goddess" and is therefore entitled to "her man". But "Naruto The Last" needed the brain washing and jealousy card for Nardo to even look in her direction. so much for "Naruto loved Hinata for all of the manga"
It's nothing surprising for me because I always had an a feeling of that sort narrow minded view on the characters them selves because how else would someone have such little mental capacity and gall to argue such things?
