I think the reason why people say Hinata won, is because she has been so one dimensional for so long, that they only expected a resolution of her feelings. I agree that at the end of part one, Hinata had things going for her, like working to gain back her title, coming out of her shell, and getting stronger. But all that just disappeared and she just seemed to not care about anything other than Naruto.

 

Kishi really did a crappy job at fleshing out all his characters, tbh.

 

Naruto's clan got zero importance, while we know all about Sasuke's. Besides a very rough outline, we know nothing of the other clans of Konoha. What the hell happened to the Senjus? We all know how bad Sakura was treated, considering not only did we barely get anything on her relationship with Tsunade, but her parents never even appeared in the freaking manga. K12 were shafted to the side and just appeared when they had something that could relate to Naruto, so that he could appear. And nearly all the other villages are a mystery.

 

Even when Kishi gave the characters some development, he left lots of questions for pretty much all his characters.

So here is rating on the Naruto series divided from Part 1 to Part 2. 

 

Part 1 was amazing, and the set up it left for Part 2's potential was more then you can ask for. However now that I'm reflecting back on it I still love Part 1 to this day (to a point where I can exclude Part 2's existence). I won't say that Part 1's perfect but I think it truly deserves a 4/5.

 

Part 2 started out amazing to a point where I thought aspects of it where better then Part 1 I mean it was dark in certain aspects. You got to see what exact not just Naruto and Sakura, but also for Team 10 as well. Pain was another great example too sure the execution was questionable, but he was still a good villain in my eyes. It wasn't until The Five Kage Summit where things started to fall apart slowly but surely, and then we had the Kushina Flashback Arc which was really really good. Finally came the war arc which we all know how that turned out, and then came the disappointing most hyped fina fight that was built up since Part 1 ended, and finally came the ending of not just Part 2 but for the Era of Naruto of Uzumaki. All the development that every character gained was ripped out of them and they all regressed back to where they were in the beginning.  So Part 2 oddly enough deserves a 2/5. 

 

 

it's like I said before Kishi knew what he was doing in Part 1 but clearly didn't know what to do with Part 2. That is something I find extremely sad for an Author. If you don't have everything planned out take the time you need until you have every single thread to tell a story even if it's a sequel. I mean look at Spider-Man 2 or The Dark Knight that's a perfect example of surpassing the predecessor.

 

So overall the series gets a 1.5/5, mediocre at best.

Excellent post. For a mC, Naruto gets shafted. His clan was very important, but God forbid they get explored. Can't take time away from the Uchiha.

Really? You think Ino has more potential at the end of Part I? Or Choji? Or Lee? Hinata had every bit the potential of any other rookie before the time skip.

Really, and what part of her potential she developed in part 2? Because Ino and Choji did grow up as characters, Hinata's hyuga problems dropped even before chunin fight of Naruto and Neji.

Lee already fully grown up character at the end of part 1.
