Wolf Children- 9.5/10
This movie is such an emotional ride, I'm done right now:
crying-waterfalls.gif
EDIT: Btw, the movie was directed by Mamoru Hosoda, one of Japan's most talented Japanese film directors in my eyes. He also directed the movies The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (2007) and Summer Wars (2009), both of which got awards (similar to the Oscar in the US). He also directed the first two Digimon Adventure Movies.

The Girl who Leapt through Time and Summer Wars are two really good-ass movies. :)

I watched The Girl who Leapt through Time a few years ago. It was also a great movie. Gotta watch Summer Wars soon. Already looking forward to the director's next movie coming out this year called The Boy and The Beast.

Wanna hear some Summer Wars spoilers? Just kidding. But basically it's about the internet and how one person can kitten it up. XD

Serial Experiments Lain: N/A- It's hard to give a rating for an anime when you barely understand the plot, but that was the intention of this anime. Or it might just be that I'm too dumb to understand what is going on XD Anyways, I feel I just don't fully comprehend what is going on in there. I'll watch this anime again sometime in the future.

Just watched FMA: Conquerer of Shamballa. It sucks major ass. I give it a 3/10. The only good part was at the end when Scar and Lust were sitting next to eachother in a truck lol.

Did you finish FMAB already?

Imao, I won't watch that movie until I've watched the original series.

Yeah finished Brotherhood already and it was damn good!! I give it a 9/10. Who do you think is cute in that series? I think Envy's kinda hot but everyone keeps saying he's a girl but that's BS damn it!! I also like the Kimblee x Winry pairing cuz I'm a sicko like that hehehe.

Well, I'm the number one Roy Mustang fan XD I ship RoyxRiza a lot- prob my favorite ship in that series. Also cute was Jean Havoc (yes, even when he was in the wheelchair) XD Lust was the sexiest lady for me in that series. Kimblee was one of the few characters I really disliked for some reason b/c I almost liked everyone in that series (even Envy and Scar).

While the movie's not really the best, there are some definite good things about it.

For instance

Also, did you finish 2003 before watching Shamballa? That's kinda really important. 2003 stands on its own without Shamballa, but Shamballa doesn't work at all without 2003 before it. Shamballa was made as a direct sequel, after all.

I've seen clips of the original series and it looks really boring.  For instance, Envy is actually some waify-looking blond dude instead of a giant lizard and Wrath is some girly-looking Envy knock off.  I also thought it was kinda corny had the Wrath kid went to his mother all glowy and kitten in the afterlife lol.  I don't like movies that can't stand alone and need prequel background.

Also I like King Bradley as Wrath better, he's badass. xD

You really shouldn't be seeing or judging Shamballa, then, since you know none of the context or character development it's building off of. It's not the movie's fault that you didn't go in with the knowledge and background you were intended to go in with. Payoff without proper buildup is meaningless.

Those are some really superficial reasons to dismiss the original, but whatever floats your boat I guess.

Hey buddy! Are you gonna rewatch FMA 2003 in a marathon? I plan to. I have all the subbed dvds although the translations were a little wacky in and inaccurate with some terms

I wouldn't say it's perfect at all, but it is absolutely a damn good show.

True nothing is Perfect but Its the best I've Ever seen personally and really nothing tops it as my Favorite. So yeah 10/10 :D  along with the 2003 series.

The thing about the 2003 series though is that as amazing as it is some of the plot points make more sense to me at least with Brotherhood in context with the how the story was established in the beginning although it still did a fantastic job considering the writers for it were on there own at the dividing point right?

I'd have to give it a 9.5 out of 10.

However if it came to Nostalgia sake then defintely it would be a full 10/10.

Are you SERIOUS?? XD I give it a 7/10 at best and that's WITH the nostalgia bias. Are you talking about the Yugioh manga or anime?

No offense meant dude. XD I'll get around to watching FMA, maybe then I'll appreciate Shamballa better. I still think the alternate universe plot was kinda dumb though.

Out of context, yeah the alternate universe seems kinda weird and needless. The thematic reason for it being there in the context of the original series is what's important.

Could you please spoiler tag that? That's a super late-game plot point. But yes, that is true.

The best characters from the original, I'd say, are Ed, Greed (though he's a supporting character here; doesn't become a main character like in Brotherhood), Lust, and the main villain who I won't name for spoiler's sakes.
