Red Dead Redemption (PS3)— 10/10

I love this game! The graphics are absolutely gorgeous and the game-play is so fluent. I legimately think this is one of the best games ever.
Guns— My personal favorite is the Buffalo Rifle! I loved getting new guns and getting to test them out. I also enjoy the High Powered Pistol. The game always seems to find a use for every gun- including th sniper, which I did not expect to use, seeing as most enemies would be pretty direct. The aiming is also good, its kind like auto-targeting and it's fun to shoot peoples hats off (which is actually a sharpshooter rank mission!) Dead Eye is cool also! Very, very useful with tons of enemies **spoiler** and key to the ending mission.
Enemies— The point is to hunt down the former members of (Main Character: John Marston's) gang. They all are actual pretty unique characters, with all individual characteristics and personalities. Dutch (Gang Leader) being the craziest! I know John being being **spoiler** betrayed by the Mexican Army was cliché, but I didn't expect it. Also, Edger Ross, my gosh he is a sick man! Key to the entire game though.
Environments— It's so big! There is tons of different places to go; from snowy mountains to cactus-filled deserts. I, personally, enjoy Tall Tree, which is the place where the Bears and giant trees (ironic) are. I also like the little towns they have, where you can buy things like Guns and Medicine. It's widely expanded so it might take a bit to get from one place to another, UNLESS you use a stagecoach or that travel option you get from camping. Some roads are a bit, oh, treacherous. I have died from falling off cliffs tons of times XD! Mexico is pretty flat when it comes to roads, that is unless you're near a fort, then it can get a bit rocky.
Horses— Lots of them. The one I use is the Black American Standardbred (the fastest in the game). You can catch them in the wild, but it can be tough if your new at the game. The stamina they have depends on the breed- they are rated as a One star (Mule, skinny Horse), Two star (Common: Quarter Horse, Paint, etc), Three star (Rare: War Horse (not available unless you preordered the game), American Standerbred (Fastest), White Horse (forgot name), Gold Horse (forgot name). Makes travelling a heck of a lot easier, but I suggest buying a deed, my Standardbred gets killed by cougars a lot.

Overall: The story is great! I absolutely fell in love with John Marston; turning from the life as a gang member to a farm/family man. The gameplay is amazing and I don't think there will be a better game for a long, long time. It truly does have the most memorable ending, too :,)

Dragon Age II 6/10

Wow... Huge disappointment. I'm not ashamed to say I loved the first game. This... yikes! It has nothing to do with the fact that the structure is "different" from every other Bioware game out there (other than their MMOs). I don't know how it is on the other consoles, but my Xbox 360 version is glitched to the max! Things disappear at a change of a camera angle. People get distorted. Dialogue from different scenes will overlap. Changing characters suddenly requires loading time. Was this game not tested before release? It can't be. They had tons of people test it out. ... I wonder if none of the testers had a 360. Yesh. My other big disappointment is with the first third of the game, where you have to do what felt like a gazillion mini quests to move on to the next point in the plot. I don't hate mini quests, but when you make an abundance of them a requirement for moving on with the plot, you may as well shot yourself in the foot! Story-wise, my biggest problem is the fact that you seem to skirt you way around the main threats presented in the final act. So you never feel like you play an active role in things. It always feels like things just happen to you and you have to just have to deal with it. Where as in ME2 and DA1 you have a main goal to accomplish. And that's the real problem. Your main goal is just to survive from day to day and you just happen to be the baddest mofo on the block. And while it makes for nice gameplay in an open world game like Red Dead Redemption, where it's as much about exploring the vast landscape as it is the story, it doesn't work well here. I mean, there are 12 areas you can explore and they're all small spaces. Voice work and characterization is usually Bioware's strong point and they don't disappoint in this area. Also, the choices made in the first game don't really effect anything here as it does between ME1 and ME2, so that was also a huge disappointment. Overall review: A disappointment.

Dragon Age II 9/10

Not only was there a graphic overhaul, the gameplay mechanics were greatly improved. Like the fact that the game is fully voice acted which seems to be the direction games are going these days. Love all the additionally promotional items that was given for free.

The plot, I know many people were upset that the game deviated from the larger scale that the first game held and everything was based within the walls of one city. I was actually intrigued to see how events would unfold because the city was literally a hotbed of political tension. You could see faint traces of it during the beginning. It stemmed to grow during the middle, till at the end there were a complete explosion forcing you to take sides and ride to the end.

The characters, the game has a lot of characters that I loved. And even ones that weren't my favorite, I still respected. Except Carver. Carver was a little bastard. But besides that I loved the selection of characters they had in this game. And I loved seeing how their individual stories progressed as you moved through the game.

My only complaint after spending 32 hours playing the game, was that I couldn't play more. I literally can't wait till they produce an expansion.

Dragon Age II: 3.5/5

I love this game, I love it. The combat was impressive, especially Mage, considering you didn't have to switch weapons to cast certain spells. I also loved the fully voiced Hawke and the story was great. To be honest though, I liked the characters in DA:O much more than I do in DA2, but I still grew to like them, just not as much as the DA:O companions. There were moments that actually made me react strongly, the big one being what happens in the very last quest...you know the one. However, what ruined the game for me was Isabela's damn bug. Game subtracted my attack speed so much, I had to put in a one-of-a-kind speed boosting rune in a weapon that wasn't ideal in the final Act. Of course, I still love the game and the 3.5 was just because of the bug.

I am playing Star Ocean the last hope international version right now.

While the game itself is fun the voice acting has to be the worst ever, it is so bad I switched the audio to Japanese sure I can't understand all of it but it isn't annoying.

so far 8/10 (without the voices)

Homefront: 9.5/10 Simply amazing. Probably one of the best Realistic Shooters you will EVER play. I think that the running is so much smoother than black ops, not only that but you sprint much longer and more realistically. Graphics are great, it's also got a bit of a sci fi feel to it. I love how they have a class system (customizable by the way) that's not too complicated, but not overly simple either. The large scale multiplayer is great, I just wish they had a capture the flag type game. That would be awesome, especially with a 32 player full house.

Mortal Kombat (2011/MK9) - 360: 9/10; PS3: 9.5/10

I will be honest: back in the day, I liked Mortal Kombat, but it wasn't near my high-praised fighting titles like Street Fighter and Tekken. I owned Mortal Kombat II for the Sega Genesis, my first game of the series. Unlike other fighting titles I played, MK was hard to play for me due to its control schemes. (And was also the time when Genesis had the 3-button controllers; you definitely needed to buy the 6-button controller for Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat). Not only that, when it comes to finishing moves like fatalities, the move lists were very incomplete on the instruction manuals. You have to rely on the word of mouth or cheat magazines to find the finishing moves. It wasn't until when the internet was getting popular that we see full movelists for the characters.

Then came another hit of the MK series: Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. While I didn't play it fully until later years, players were around the arcades back in the day, playing this game like crazy (I actually remembered a big crowd around a UMK3 machine). Then came the down time, when MK first entered 3D with 4, things started to drain. It was hard for me to get back into the series which it was about to die. While certain titles like Deadly Alliance and Deception looks promising, it didn't have that certain factor that make me feel interested. And then, Midway did a crossover, MK Vs. DC... I didn't want to expect or see that. I felt that we were ready to say goodbye to Kombat because they went bankrupted.

But then, rumors and news of coming back surfaced! Returning back to a M-Rating game with full-fleshed fatalities and iconic characters. Under a new studios owned by Warner Bros., it was beginning to look good. And the hype keeps on coming and coming until we saw the gameplay videos! Iconic characters returning, brutal and gory moves and the fatalities... I will say this: MK is back with a vengeance! biggrin.gif

They went all out with this title! First thing is that the game takes place right after Armaggedon, with Shao Khan and Raiden have a final bout, with Khan dominating the whole scene. Every one was killed off in the most grusome ways as possible and to make sure that this wasn't going to happen again, Raiden sent a message to his past self to stop Khan's reign from happening. So, basically we are having a reboot of the storyline of Mortal Kombat 1 to 3 following the good and neutral characters' perspectives, with some interesting and shocking events happening. You gonna be surprised what's going to happen about the time you get to finish MK3.

Now, I did say the gameplay was very difficult to understand due to limitations back in the day, but now the controls are so-much better and casual-friendly so to speak. Instead of following blows based of highs and lows with 2 blocks or a run button, the blow buttons are based on limbs. The special moves, though look the same in previous games, are very easy to learn and also been Enhanced ala SF. New to this is the brand moves, X-Ray moves. These moves, when press both bumpers on the 360 and the back buttons on PS3, makes characters perform devestating and gory moves on their opponents and let the player see the organs, muscles and bones being ripped, broken, tear apart, etc. There is also a tag-team mode, though it was introduced in certain ports in previous titles.

What most interesting are the graphics itself. The stages look gorgeous as hell and all of them came from the MK Trilogy. When getting hit, characters will get damaged, very badly until the end of the match to the point that you can tell they just went to Hell and back, literally. Did I just said that the developers went full out on this game? And let's not talk about the fatalities, talk about killing in a realistic vision... Sliced, chopped, organs ripped off...

Going back to their roots (with the secret battles and messages) and plus a bunch of bonus content with the returning of the Krypt where you buy and dug up graves and bodies to unlock collectibles and secret content. And there is alot of online stuff, which is much better than other fighters (looking at you MVC3).

There are some DLC coming, such as other Klassic costumes and new characters. This is the best Mortal Kombat yet! And I know many years later we will be talking about this game for a very long time.

Portal 2 - 9/10

Gotta say, the first Portal was mostly a borefest. But I love this one so much more. The gameplay remains pretty much the same but the characters in the game are just hysterical and lively. The single player only took me 6 or 7 hours to beat and I haven't touched the co-op yet but I hear it's just as long.

Dead Space 2 9/10 - I was never really a fan of the first Dead Space game, but I finished the game because I wanted to see the ending, but with Dead Space 2 I actually started to like the series, the story is much better than the first game and I'm glad that Issac actually talks in this game instead of being a death mute. The combat was much improved over the first one, but sometimes the story caved in towards the middle, but thankfully it picked up towards the end, the multiplayer isn't bad, but I felt it was tacked on.

Fallout New Vegas 9/10 - Was a big fan of Fallout 3 and this game has great graphics for a open world game. The guns are great and I really like how its in the future but you get the feeling your in the wild west. Great game all around exept for when your just walking down the road raiders come from no where and try to kill you also it freezes from time to time.

Alpha Protocol 9/10

A great action and adventure RPG that really immerses you in the life of a super spy. Fun and pretty easy to learn and master, with nearly infinite options for game play and interactions AP offers a total experience. Everything from romance to fighting to espionage.

Want to take your time and sneak through unseen? Shoot it out with every single eprson until you run out of ammo? beat the living snot out of anyone with martial arts? talk or schmooze your way through. you can doit all.

AP offers a fairly unique dialouge system that gives numerous options for interactions. You cna be a smooth talker ala james bond or a hyper agressive Jack Baur type or a solid professional, or all of the above. Even morality is flexible, you can go the route of a stand up hero and patriot, a mercenary, even a cold blooded assassin.

As APs motto goes your weapon is choice.

highly reccomend this game to anyone who ever enjoyed the Splinter Cell series or Assassins creed games for its wide variety of ways and means to complete the missions.

Only major failings are that the play can be a teensey bit clunky at times, attempts to stealth missions seem incredibly difficult no matter how hard you try ((and believe me I tried enemies always seemed to spot me and raise an alarm)) but beyond that the over all story is a good one and ripe for a sequel. lots of fun.

Bulletstorm: 9.5/10

This is an great FPS, it brings a lot of inovation regarding the gameplay, and the settings are just gorgeous, with some amusing character coming along. The leach system never gets old, and is aways fun to find new ways to obliterate your enemies. The plot is quite cliched with some overdramatic moments, but it's actually funny, because it was made on pourpose, there is an scene I aways remember, were the main character is stuck on an enemy ship and when all hope seems to be lost, the main chick (who was supposed to be dead) appears out of nowere to save our hero, while he screams: "Holy mother of all Deus Exs, I can't believe you still alive!!" Man, I aways laugh. The only short coming really is that sometimes the game is extremely hard. My first playthrough was on Medium, and sometimes I would still get my ass kicked, anyway, it's an great game, and I totally recomend.

Call Of Duty: Black Ops -- 6/10

Meh, weak campaign. Story was lame. Main character was pretty damn bad-ass though! Ahaha, my favorite mission has to be Redemption and that one where your fighting gorilla's (is that what they're called?) in Vietnam.

Best part of the game: Zombies.

Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack In Time 9/10 - A great game and a great way to finish off the Future trilogy. I felt as though this was the strongest of the Future trilogy because the weapons almost had that Up Your Arsenal feel to them and using the Chimp-O-Matic never gets old, I just wonder if All 4 One will be as good?
