I read two chapters, not bad but I read so much and my attention span Dx I really like the art and it seems Erina is the perfect example of woman his dad described but I won't think too much on it because I've been cheated before...

That's Satoshi Isshiki!!! He's one of the funniest characters XD When it comes to the dialogue, I just skimmed through (and later on sometimes skipped) all the food descriptions...

Him running around naked becomes a running gag later on XD (he changes clothes in light speed, no kidding).

Jouchirou and Dojima really look young for their age XD I mean, even Alice's mom looks like she's in her late twenties, lol.

I've always wondered why Soma's father changed his surname. When the time comes that we'll finally find out what is up with it, I hope maybe it'll be a mini arc, or spinoff like you suggested. There's literally no hint about Soma's mom. All we know is that her last name is Yukihira. I remember that Jouichiro once said though that Soma doesn't know his grandparents: Does his Jouichirou mean his own parents or those of his wife? And what reason is there that Soma doesn't know them? Maybe Jouichiro doesn't get along with them?

 

Yeah I remember that, that's why I wondered if Souma's grandparents on his mothers side did not agree with their daughters choice as a partner. We know his mother was with them the first few years of their lives as we were shown the family picture at the end of chapter 1, but nothing more, also in typical fashion her hace was hidden by light beams. So did she leave or die we don't know.

In those two pics, Souma and Erina look around the same age, maybe a couple of years difference, but look at Jouchiro, he looks like he's aged a decade? not the goutee but the age lines. He looks so young and carefree with his family but the one with Erina he's got wrinkles under the eyes, he looks even older than he does right now, I wonder if that was deliberate from the mangaka, or they made a mistake and forgot about the previous picture of him when the same age. Though him working for Nakira is also something that is confusing, why did he leave his shop to work as a chef?

 

I really liked this weeks chapter, it was good to see how enemies from the past became friends and comrades of the current, but at the same time their involvement did not come after it was proven that Souma's recipe was the reason the crowds were attracted to them, so it was due to his friends help that they could meet the demand to reach number one, and not because of the friends he got to number one...if that makes sense.

 

It was also good to see how each of their friends contributed in a way that we saw they were skilled in previously, so it didn't feel like an arsepull.

 

I can't wait to see how the number eight seat will react to this humiliation, (I wonder why he challenged number eight and not number 9? probably knew that the nine seat would need to be challeneged in a way unrelated to cooking.) Shame it's Golden Week so we'll have to wait two weeks for the next chapter.

 

I have to say, the best battle mangas are sometimes the ones where the battle does not involve actual violence

This chapter is one of my faves, without a doubt!

Ikumi, Takumi, Isami and Subaru helping Megumi and Soma was so great to see!

And I loved this high five panel

I don't mind it either but I can't see it happening though if it does, it won't change the story. I am at 31 right now xD Took a break but slowly getting there
