I have a question for those among us who are shipping veterans.
 
Was Avatar ever this bad? How bad was the reception from the Zutara fans after Kataang became canon?
 
On that note I hope NS has a better way of becoming canon than Kataang I mean not that it wasn't good, but it seemed kind of rushed especially after the previous episode. I just hope is that NS gets more than a kiss at the end.

I wouldn't say it was as bad, but it definitely wasn't good. For months after Kataang was official detractors brought up constant arguments about how Katara was confused between Zuko and Aang and that Katara was simply a trophy to Aang to achieve. Even worse, they believed that Zuko was initially the love interest for Katara. All the arguments they brought up were 1,000% false.

And I disagree about the Kataang being rushed. It was steadily being built up ever since Aang emerged from the iceberg, and the creators of the show said that Aang & Katara was the dna of the series. It had many strong hints from the very beginning. Sokka claiming Aang was her boyfriend in the second episode. The constant kisses on the cheek from Katara, the blushes exhibited from both characters, the supposed kiss that happened in the cave, the arguments, the jealousy, and most importantly the support and care they had for each other. And have you notice that Katara was the only one in the series to bring Aang out of the avatar state? Pretty cool.

I'm still confused by this chapter, why didn't he respond the same way he did in 631? Is he not aware that Sakura is like Kushina? is that why Sakura's hair is like that in the new movie? So Naruto can make  Sakura/Kushina parallel like with what happened in Trigun?

 

I don't think Sakura would have hit him (especielly considering the serious tone of the conversation and that she was like 15 feet away) but he could have just responded with "Yeah i found someone like mom" and Sakura wouldn't know he was talking about her and even if she did "finding someone" doesn't mean you are in a relationship with them.

 

 

Yeah i also heard that the voice actor for Zuko was a Zutara fan.

That's like saying why doesn't Kishi just make NS canon now because basically what you'd be asking is him telling and making it clear NS is the end canon pairing if he had Naruto make such a statement.  I think the whole convo makes perfect sense and is quite natural at this moment in time, because it's all still a work in progress with Sakura.  He's not yet her boyfriend, nor has he confessed to her.

I thought so to but that didn't stop him from introducing Sakura as his sort of girlfriend. Its Naruto's constant shift in confidence that makes this somewhat confusing. 

Of course he won't introduce as his sort of girlfriend. That way too obvious for Kishi to write something like this.

 

And, yeah, Naruto doesn't know what to do in these kind of things, so he doubts and you get this.

Terrible and weak reasons why Zutara should have happened. It's funny how the creators of the show mocked Zutara!

I didn't mean the relationship was rushed (after all it was one of the main subplots of the story) just the conclusion of it was. She said she was still confused about her feelings, but (much like with Sakura) we had no transition point or see her have any time to think over about those feelings she had. It felt rushed in the same way EdxWinry felt rushed by stuffing everything in the second half of the last chapter.

He won't say he found someone like his mom. Kishi, and I think most any other author, won't say it directly that way. Naruto is having some difficulty to understand the emotions of Sakura which is why he said I don't know about girls much.

 

Kishi just didn't want to make it in an obvious way.

I think that he didn't want to make it obvious bc he wants Naruto's confession to come as surprise  the ending pretty much tells you that he's gonna men up and do it .

Hopefully not. I'm worried that he will drag it to the very end. I'd much prefer it if he didn't continuously stall NS because of Naruto and his sudden lack of confidence.

Because then ns would be indirectly yet officially canon. We readers,at least those who read properly, can tell with who naruto will end up with. There have been enough hints. But why would you let naruto confirm his ultimate feelings for sakura and the fact that he wants to be with her just by the way when the focus is on nnaruto's relationship to his dad and mom. Ns is very well developed. The scene of canon will be just as perfectly plotted and will be focused on them. AND of course we are not at the end by this chapter. As a writer you still need to rouse the readers interest till the end.

Yeah, there's going to be a surprise how NS is going to happen. The confession may very well be the primary reason in making starting with NS's canonizing.

Maybe we should wait for this volume set to say otherwise? Really it's make or break for others, not really for NS. Here's the thing. I asked "Did this arc help SS?" The answer is no. Hell no. My point is that if you can't rebuild and supposedly part 3 is next, then there's no point. Think as this image in your head. Remember the comparison with Naruto and Gaara from kid to teenagers? The one with Naruto grows friends while Gaara stays alone and grows sadness. Think of that in NS and SS comparison. That's how I see it. NH and SS need to say something NOW.

Exactly when NS goes canon it needs to be when Naruto confesses or Sakura or both of them  not the other way around .
