In the mangastream translation he says that once Naruto becomes hokage they should drink together from a sake cup

 

 

If you read One Piece you will realize this ritual makes them brothers, it is symbolic it is not Gaara asking Naruto to go out and tie one on with him lol

 

 

Do you guys think the manga will end by chapter 700?

We still have a lot of ground to cover and 3 major antagonists left (Madara, Kaguya and Sasuke)as well as how Naruto plans to go about making world peace that he's been pushing to do since the Pain arc

I think it will end in the 720 to 740 ish area

which is pretty close to what he said in the raw from what I hear (that they should drink together and have a toast)

If memory serves me right one of Kushina's last requests was that Naruto not drink until he's 20, and as we know he's about to turn 17. Meaning this foreshadowed moment will likely take place in a few years

This thing about some eventual 3 years jump before Naruto would be Hokage is not that silly.

It's true what Gaara talked about is more of a ritual, but they will actually drink those Sake cups.

Drinking alcohol should be only after majority, and I think this is important in Japan.

So it's not so foolish to believe that it will happen in 3 years because of Kushina statement.

If this is taken as "religion" it's because Kishimoto wants it IMO.

It's just a shônen for teenagers. It's logical that people will believe those kind of things.

If Kishimoto made her (Kushina) say all this, it's not just words without meaning. It is obviously to foreshadow things.

I think that the manga will definitely go on to around ~750. Ever since the beginning of Shippuden this was my guess. I think it was because of something Kishimoto said.

The only thing was confirmed from Kishimoto is the series won't reach to 1000th chapter like One Piece and Hajime no Ippo is currently reaching towards.

So from what we gather the epilogue will probably be in a 3 year timeskip as oppose to 5-10 year timeskip

and it will likely try to tie a bunch of things up like Naruto becoming hokage then sharing some brewskies with his drinkin buddy and likely make the MinaKushi parallel go full circle with a baby or pregnant Sakura or something.

I don't know if I missed anyone, but these seem to be missing in action at the moment although the Alliance and Team Not 7 we saw them recently so they are probably just standing around.

I apologise if it comes across as rude or anything, but really. They are assassins. Does it matter when they drink? Would Naruto even care? I haven't seen him eating vegetables or going to bed early. Hell, didn't he spend the whole night awake?

Not that I support it or anything, but if we're going by that logic, underage drinking once in a blue moon is also okay.

I was thinking - it doesn't seem like Obito is able to move. After all, he needs Sakura to destroy the rinnengan. If he could move himself, why wouldn't he just destroy it himself? And also take notice of the lines around Obito, as if he's struggling. Doesn't seem like he can move to me :/

He can move its just really stressful on him and he doesn't want to risk BZ taking over.

We know he can move his body since he's able to turn his head and talk and stuff its just stressful on him because of all the kitten he's been through.
