I might as well add this in:
Lovers and haters talking about Sakura's "vanishing act" may have forgotten that all the main characters have had portions of being offscreen for other plot development.
Naruto being the main character and all, he was sidelined a few times for other characters, mainly team 10 in the hidan and kakuzu arc. That arc was more about the team, Naruto and Sakura were sidelined for training and other stuff. Kakashi got time in the battle but this was over not being in the Sasuke and Sai arc. This occured during the training session with Bee, he could not fight in the war so soon so we focused on other battles even with minor characters like Duari and those who counted for more like Gaara.
Sakura has been sidelined before, namely the serach for Tsunade and Sasuke Pursuit. Like Naruto she was also sidelined in the hunt for Itachi, that arc was all Sasuke.
Sasuke has the least screentime out of the main characters, hard to believe given his role but yeah he does. He literally vanished at the end of the Sasuke and Sai arc, only rose up again at the end of the Hidan and Kakazu. His role has been pop up then go away for a bit.
kakashi as well, yes he has had time and then away time. Sakura is still present but she is reacting to something, if it was Hinata's speech, it could have been an attitude towards Naruto she may have realized, hinata did say how everyone is working together, thats what Sakura said to herself but its not necessarily taking her words. Or she could have been called from Tsundae, it is possible she was called to fix the kage and say farewell.
Sai is not around either but he is a devoted fighter, we don't see any sudden giant chakra enhanced paint beasts now do we?
As far as moments go, Neji kicked this off with his death, hinata's passed, Shikamaru's passed, Ino's passed, choji's passed, and now lee's passed. It makes sense for these moments to occur right now because its an entire mob battle, let the majority of characters get their smaller moments. Save the big time for when team 7 finally reunites and does something against Obito, Madara, and Sasuke, that is when we get Sakura, Kakashi, and maybe Sai getting their defiant moments (don't know about sai but Sakura and Kakshi defintely) get their defiant moments for the climax of the series.
Watch as Sakura gets a big moment which completely outshines Hinata's hand moment, I can bet that is what will happen, it will take a while but she is going to have that one moment and have her time to shine, its always best to do minor characters first, finish them, then end with the main cast. Sakura is part of team 7 and she will have a part with Naruto in this end. Hinata will be kept far away when this moment comes, she is not part of team 7 and nothing no matter what character attitudes come into play, this will be it.
While I agree with this SOMEWHAT, out of all of the main characters, Sakura's had the least about of fighting time. I find it funny that she's the only female in this whole scenario. Kakashi's had more fight scenes, and of course Naruto and Sasuke as well. Compared to Naruto and Sasuke, she hasn't had any super significant development. We haven't seen her parents on panel. She's the most normal out of the lot, and he doesn't give her as much focus as she deserves as a main character. It's pretty sad because it comes off as Kishimoto being sexist in a way... I mean, how can he not have time to add in her parents to the actual manga but you can throw in Shikamaru's mom who isn't even a ninja.
