You have to ask why he would go to that much effort when he could just have sex with Karin and then give the baby to Sakura... It's not like the Sakura that they created has the spine to demand any more involvement than that

That would probably be the only thing within her character to actually do, too. I always pictured Sakura and Naruto adopting one or two orphans, but that might be from reading too many fanfics back in the day. Hell, even my story I was working on a while back had Sakura take in a kid who lost his family when bandits raided his village.

And nobody can ever convince me Salad is Sakura's kid. Nope. Uh-uh. Not gonna happen. Ever. In fact, she's living breath proof Kishimoto is lying through his teeth that SS and NH were supposed to be end pairings.

Doesn't want to lose her figure or her womb isn't strong enough to hold a child.

SAO does have it's own problems. I am not going to say the anime is gold that people are not getting because I do see the issues it has. I am not sure about the time skips because Kirito and the characters never really made much headway in development in some time skips, so why show it if it adds nothing? (It is much different from one minute the character is alone to the next he is 20 years olds with wife and kids with characters they had no interaction with.) The characters that did, Kirito wasn't there for it. He was a loner so obviously he is not keeping up with every person. People forget that SAO takes place from Kirito's perspective so characters developing when Kirito is not around is expected. Just like how Asuna wasn't around Kirito either. It is basically complaining about "Well, how did Asuna develop her cooking skills when we don't see it on screen." Did we really need to see that?

It's like watching a "let's play" where the person playing an RPG skips them grinding. Do you really want to watch them fight every creature, fight every monster, and show how he goes from lvl 20 to 100 grinding in the same area for 6 hours? No, that would be ridiculous. So some of it is warranted, some of it not. I don't see to see everything Kirito does. Just focus on the major aspects.

That is what is remaining of the Naruto fandom. For the rest of the anime fandom in general, I don't hear much about Naruto or Boruto. If they do say anything they are like you "Is that what is happening? I wouldn't know, I have not been paying attention."

And I think that kind of shows how bland Naruto is now. People rather talk about SAO, no matter how bad they say it is, than anything Boruto anymore.

It's hard to keep excusing issues by saying "well, it is a shounen." Might as well say "Why should I watch it? It is only a shounen" and I don't think some people would have a problem with people saying that. Regardless, even if it is a shounen, it doesn't mean they can just lackluster on the writing.  We kept making excuses and now they think they can write anything and people will eat it up. This is why we are getting dumber and dumber stories.

I am reminded of the south park episode where everyone was into stupid stuff and Honey Boo Boo and James Cameron came about to "raise the bar." How far is the bar going to go before we say? "This is stupid. Naruto is stupid. It needs to be written better."

I had to for the sake of the podcast, but I was giving up on the series itself since the Kage Summit Arc. For a while I thought "Kishimoto could make it all up by make NS canon and at least giving us a good ending," but I was a fool then. I am no fool now. That's why I now just wait look at dumb Boruto stuff to see how far they could make it worse....and so far I have not been disappointed. Every time I think "they can't get any lower" they pull something else to just ruin it. Funny enough, it is not the series that pisses me off so much as it is some fans who still think this series is awesome. People who still believe that SS is a "happy couple" despite obvious signs of misery, who think Sasuke is a good and loyal father who is always there for his children despite even Naruto saying he is never home enough, who think Naruto is an amazing father who just so happens to be busy all the time, but constantly shown that he just lays about feeling sorry for himself and Shikamaru mentioned his home life being miserable (and yet seems to always have time for everyone else's kid)

So far, there are three big groups in this world that live in the biggest denial in the entire world....two I will not mention because of political reasons, but the third is the still remaining proender-Naruto fans. They deny everything even if the manga/anime/whatever specifically says they are wrong. Not even interpretation wrong, but literally wrong.

ex:

Denial: "Sasuke and Sakura been on many dates and they love each other."
Reality: "Sakura literally says she and Sasuke have on been on one "date," if you can call it that, and it only lasted 2 and half minutes."

And yet, I rather have all of that....than whatever Boruto is doing in terms of what it calls a "plot."

@Yyubie

That scene has more romance in it than ANY SS scene and most of NH scenes.

And to SAO's credit, at last the author TRIES to improve and even sometimes directly addresses people's grief over parts of it (like the ALO arc). The attempted improvements may not always work, but at least the effort is shown whereas Kishi just gave up.

Sarada which is Japanese for Salad. Boruto is Japanese for Bolt. Mitsuki is a Sake Cup. Kawaki is dryness from what I recall, but I think Nail works better.

It's not the latter because Karin is an Uzumaki, so that would mean inheritor of Tsunade's medical techniques is gonna suffer for 9 months because a former Oto ninja doesn't want to get fat. That makes loads of sense.

But admittedly that is still a more believable scenario than Sasuke wanting to touch Sakura in any kind of intimate way.

You missed my "sudden" retirement statement when the names first came out. Here's the reason why the names were chosen for Boruto and Sarada: 1) Boruto was named because of Neji's "sacrifice" and said to tied NH together. AKA the editors claimed Neji was Cupid... and 2) Sarada was named because of some sort of "mixture" (obviously, Masashi initially wanted her as a SK child because she looks EXACTLY like Sasuke and Karin when she debuted but because of the NH ending and Sakura needed to be involved somehow, well we gotten this result).

Remember, he is the BOLT that hold them together.

Read the mitsuki one shot if you want to find out Orochimaru's reasons for his kid's name, and get even more confused.

Oh yeah, that silly ass statement. The analogy is so stupid.

Probaly just me, but I think that analogy carried the dual implication that if Hinata didn't become pregnant with Naruto's brat, he would've left her ass years ago.

That also part of the implication of BOLT; that if he didn't come so early into their relationship they probably would have broken up years ago.

It is made abundantly clear that Naruto and Hinata got hitched very quickly after the Last. Like, they fell in love in winter got married early spring. Then its implied that Boruto was born very quickly after, of course SP would never let their goddess have sex before marriage though, but still they could have been together (even dating) less than a year by the time Bolt was born. Everything revolves Boruto makes it clear because they got married and had a kid almost immediately; that they didn't really know each other. Even from what I saw in Boruto -manga and anime- there is very little love or a even a bond between them. They are more or less "Husband" and "Wife" to each other not lovers.

I missed a lot of things dude. But those are pretty stupid reasons. Was that implied, though? That Sarada was supposed to be Sasuke and Karins kid originally? Or is that just speculation based on her appearance?

That's the first thing that comes to mind for me. A kid holding the parents together does not imply a healthy marriage, as if everything else didn't already do that. Which makes it doubly sad. He seems to hang around because of the kid, but isn't even a good father.

I said it before, but dude turned out to be someone I thought he wasn't.

After chapter 700 the end there was a special volume called Gaiden where the plot of it and I'm not kidding, was "Who's the mommy".

For 10 chapters readers were led to believe that Salad was indeed Karin's daughter, there was even a DNA test to tell the reader that, only to reveal at the very end that it's actually Sakura who's the mother but still she isn't really. It was so poorly done.

They did a test on Salad and the umbilical cord that was with Karin the whole time, the test showed it's a match. And then at the end they said that Sakura gave Karin that cord because some reason that I can't recall. It's just stupid.

Which I've told you - time and time again - is dangerous! There will never be consensus, son, among those you have helped to ascend. They will all differ in their views of what it means to be free. The peace you so desperately seek does not exist.

These men are united now by a common cause. But when this battle is finished they will fall to fighting amongst themselves about how best to ensure control. In time it will lead to war. You will see.

That's legitimately funny. Sounds like someone watched too much Maury and made a manga volume out of it. How the hell did they get ten chapters out of that? Because I'm pretty sure the plot could be ended within ten pages by sitting both women down and asking which one of them had a kid. Or, hell, just one of them, even. Who needs both? We're not talking about men here. I'm pretty sure they'd remember giving birth to a kid.

Also. Also. Is hanging on to umbilical cords a thing and I just don't know about it?

Yup. In Japanese culture, the parents typically hold on to the umbilical cord.
