Exactly thank you if Sakura was still part 1 Sasuke fan girl she would have beat up all those girls he flirted and would have claim him all to herself. Instead she was only concern for Naruto as always shown throughout the entire manga.

SasuSaku: Views On Road To Ninja Moments

What with so many SasuSaku fans feeling cheated, angry or upset about the so-called lack of moments in Road To Ninja, I had to get this out. It seems I’m one of the only SS fans still looking forward to the film and feeling excited about the scenes our couple has. At least we know for sure SasuSaku gets at least one hint! That is more than enough for me. I am sorry for all those other SS fans who are not satisfied with that despite the severe lack of SasuSaku in movies since the very first one. You can’t please everyone, I suppose.

Sasuke comes on to every girl in Konoha in Road To Ninja. So what? Besides the fact this is primarily filler with canon elements, Sakura took it to mean something romantic so there is your SasuSaku moment, however one-sided you think it is and I beg to differ on that view (I will explain why a little further down). I’m happy this couple even got one, considering there haven’t been any since the very first film.

Sasuke flirted with Sakura alone, which I find interesting. It seems he usually flirts with several girls at a time and even if it’s one he’s currently talking to, there’s normally a whole group oogling him nearby or gathered around him from what I can see in clips of Road To Ninja. The fact that he met her with no other fangirls watching him or hanging about (at least, this is how it appears from the trailers and clips) says a lot. It suggests he singled her out in order to speak to her specifically. I doubt he does that with the rest of his fan club.

As for whether he uses the same (or a similar) line with his adoring fans as one he said to Sakura when he presented her with the rose, I don’t know. I would have to see more clips (if any new ones to do with this are released) to find out. But something tells me that he doesn’t, despite the fact he gives girls roses when he makes advances on them because of the way he talked to her in private (or so it seems from the trailers).

Even if he does use the same line with them and in spite of Sakura thinking their moment meant nothing (indicated when she runs away, upset, upon discovering him giving other girls roses and flirting with them - according to a review of the film on Youtube) the way in which he approached her was different and implies that there was something more than superficial coquetry beyond his actions.

Maybe, just maybe, his flirtation was the real deal. Perhaps he meant what he told her. The rose may have actually been a genuine gesture of affection. Sakura just might not have picked any of that up. It’s possible, right? Don’t count SasuSaku moments out until you have seen the movie.

Look, I don't like to bash, but come on. This is clear as day: Sasuke don't care for Sakura. Kishi is not making this too complex. It's very straightforward. Unless Sasuke said, "Thank you, girls, but Sakura is the only one that stoles my heart," then it's pure anti SS. Actually, he shouldn't be flirting at all. No matter what, it's anti SS moment and that's all there to it. It's one of the moment that Sakura was foolish enough to believe he cares for her. She is now matured and rely on Naruto to cheer her up.

Btw, something caught my attention. Maybe it was a guess, but I heard Sakura told Menma that only a true hero will save us, before she gets captured. Gee, I wonder who......

@dovahkiin: Again, part of her selfish act. She was so lost due to being home alone, which she wished to have. She was hoping for Sasuke to cheer her up or something, but nope, turns out he doesn't care at all. Naruto is the best option. Regardless of him being a pervert, he is dedicated to Sakura and won't shift to anyone else.

Funny, I always picture a redemption from AU! Sasuke before they leave, but nope, it's clear as day. Kishi is just letting us that SS is not going to work at all. It's not healthy, it's shallow back to interview 1. There, I am done from here.

Eh, that sasusaku post doesn't really bother me. I just feel sorry for them really, they are in for a big disappointment, both from the movie, but especially from the manga, where Sakura hates herself over the fact she still hasn't eliminated the residuals of her bond to Sasuke.

Sakura thinks that makes her a horrible person. Poor Sakura, she doesn't realize she doesn't have to beat herself up over this, feel ashamed and depressed... It's not actually romantic feelings she has left, even though she's sickened and believes it is, but it's a fragment of memory of her naive crush, but most of it is actually the happiness she felt just being the observer of Naruto and Sasuke's intense bond (before things went bad. Look at what motivates her from the time she sees Naruto in the hospital at the end of part 1 onward when it comes to Sasuke- there's absolutely nothing about any kind of romantic bond to Sasuke, it's 100% about Naruto and Sasuke's bond.) plus just the plain old team mate bond- (something not even Tsunade was able to sever to Orochimaru, even though she had years and years to let go of it and believed she had, plus uinlike Sakura with Sasuke, Tsunade was never burdened with the memory of a romantic attraction to Orochimaru. Yet still the team mate bond was still there all those years later.) And as someone so aptly pointed out- it's the unresolved wish that Sasuke would acknowledge her, not in a romantic way, but as a ninja and as a member of Team 7. Not even as his equal like what Naruto craved from Sasuke, just an acknowledgement that she wasn't "useless", etc...

That's why I know her feelings left about Sasuke aren't in anyway the "selfish" thing I see thrown around here, it's from her still low self-esteem. Much less overwhelmingly low than in part 1, but when she fails at something it comes back like a tidal wave, crushing her hard fought increases in self-worth. This is also why she blushes whenever anyone compliments her looks or skills- someone is acknowledging her worth in some fashion.

I think deep down many women can relate the to last in some way. Women are sadly still socialized to hate themselves- just because they are female, and see being female as being something negative (I really see this in a highly overt way amongst the most extreme yaoi or western slash shippers- they express outright hatred at anything female. And this is not just in the fandoms of anime/manga of western popular fiction either, I know other women who collect Asian Ball Jointed Dolls (you may know them by the name "Dollfie" after the name of the doll by first company's [Volks- a Japanese company] version of them) who express outright hatred at female dolls and angrily vow that they "will never have a girl doll! They make up stories about their male dolls that sound straight out of a yaoi manga or a slash fanfiction... (yaoi or slash holds no interest for me. If a woman isn't in it and even in hetro romances if the woman is submissive or worshipping of the male I have zero interest in it. The woman has to have a mind of her own and the guy has to really be in love with her and respect her as the person she is. Don't like yuri either, it's just as bad as yaoi. But a sensitive and positive romantic lesbian relationship, that I can ship- ala Haruka and Michiru in Sailor Moon.)

But I know I still struggled with self-esteem issues as a child- but unlike Sakura, I grew up in a cultural time period when the self-esteem movement was starting, and back then it hadn't been corrupted and was all about being compassionate to others and being compassionate with yourself- (not the bad corrupted "I'm more special than anyone else" that it became later) don't let anyone tell you you don't have as much worth as anyone else, and stand up for someone else getting bullied and being told they aren't worth as much as anyone else)

But what was even more helpful in my later teens I found a book about women and self-esteem that had good self-worth exercises in it- designed specifically to fight the self-worth crushing messages young women then and still do get in our culture.

I don't suffer from semi conscious self hatred like most women do because I pushed back very hard against that nasty messaging I had taken in. (Do I still get upset and even depressed when I get the grown up version of bullying from others? Yes, but what they do doesn't touch what I know about myself. I will fight back fiercely when I am bullied.

But there's scars from the childhood still in my psyche- Being the target of the adult version of bullying makes me feel a bit physically ill ( essentially it's a Post Traumatic Stress reaction.) and even being the center of attention positively makes me feel a bit uncomfortable- it's embarrassing at the same time it feels good inside. It can feel a bit overwhelming inside if I've just been through an adult bullying episode- my eyes will actually well up with tears if someone praises me in some fashion.

It surprised me on some level that Kishimoto was so aware of the self-esteem issues women struggle with, you almost never see this done seriously in a shonen manga, unless a woman writes it... (Rumiko Takahashi does it overtly with Akane Tendo in Ranma 1/2, and often not in a comedic sense, or with a serious tone under the humor.). While you definitely see it in lots of shoujo manga- especially the shoujo version of the tsundere type character struggles with it. As far back as Machiko Satonaka's "Tomorrow Will Shine" and Riyoko Ikeda's "Rose of Versailles" in the early 1970's it's a strong theme.

Now, somebody here must remember the conversation between them. That said remember the first thing Hinata said to Sakura? It was "What is your relationship with Menma?" Could be her reaction to that question? I remember the before scene was her looking at her specious and then she talks. It can't be flat chested comment, because in the video, she continues to talk while leaning forward and then there was an image of Sakura all upset closeup, which could be the scene when she said, "Hinata is really mean..."

I got my question answered by sashun08 about the bath scene between Naruto and Sakura.

My question was: When Hinata ask Sakura about her & Memma(Naruto) were up to. What was Sakura response.

sasuhun08 answer was: All i remember that sakura didn't response, she felt humiliated when hinata also said to her that she has small boobs. It's like, how come Menma likes you if your boobs are so small.

On the SS topic, I just had a thought:

What if Kishi made this movie for the anime-only viewers so that they'd understand the lover-nin scene better?? think about it, the lover-nin scene/episode is coming up soon, so making and releasing this movie serves as a nice prelude to the lover-nin episode so that Kishi makes sure his anime-only audience gets what he intended with that scene.

This is a stroke of genius on Kishi's part, IMO. By doing this, this would make the impact a lot less harmful to Sakura's character. I also wouldn't be surprised if Kishi specifically asked the team working on that episode to tweak it a little to suit his views.

If Kishimoto wanted to show Sasuke "singling" Sakura out, I don't think he would have shown Sakura being hurt by him in the next scene Sasuke is in. If it was meant to be something more between Sasuke and his love for Sakura, he wouldn't go about handing and holding girls the way he is. I don't know about you but if a guy I really liked came to my back porch and gave me a rose, yeah, I would be happy but if I saw him do the same exact thing towards other girls, I would have been heartbroken and pissed. If Sakura was "that" important in the movie, he wouldn't keep flirting as much as he did.

If anything, I think Sasuke was more of a "is this the Sasuke that you really want?" kind of deal. A lesson to be learned, like her parents. She's upset at her parents at first and then tells Naruto that Sasuke would understand her situation. Well, guess what...her parents are only thinking of the best for her and Sasuke doesn't understand her. He doesn't even try....but Naruto does. Sakura learns this later.

NaruHina fans keep pointing out that is is just a movie and that some of it may not have been written or created by Kishimoto and just added to fill in spots. If you ask me, that part about her parents, Sasuke and understanding Narutos pain a little bit more is from Kishimoto. Though, this is my own speculation. I try to think of this movie from a storyboard position. I got a degree in art and I now look at things differently since taking Stoaryboarding, Illustration I and II, Computer Illustration and classes based on storytelling.

I like all the stuff Naruto does since it's like a big struggle to the end, much like stamina wins the match, but Sakura's fights are fun and can be great too. Now, in this movie, they team up to defeat Tobi/Menma. Imagine the epicness surrounding that. Lots of people said that the fight is huge and it's epic.
