Hey guys, long time lover of the pairing and of this forum. I begrudgingly tolerate what happened, but the problems don't seem to stop. On most of the recent narusaku fanfic and amvs, the other pairings fans keep giving put downs to ns and it's fans, like they're trying to shame us for liking it. They keep saying things like it was obvious Sakura would never love naruto and would only love sasuke or how because hinata loved naruto first, she deserves him. So I'm trying to rationalize what happened. I won't deny naruhina had its moments, but I saw narusaku always meet them or beat them. Hinata willing to show naruto her test, Sakura is willing to throw the exams for him, hinata offers ointment, Sakura is narutos medic. Naruto motivates hinata in a fight, he does the same for Sakura and Sakura believes in him fighting Lina before hinata. Hinata gives naruto a pep talk before fighting neji, Sakura does the same before fighting kiba and thanking him. Naruto says he likes people like hinata, thinks about how he likes Sakura before leaving to find tsunade. Hinata fights to save him from pain, he does the same for Sakura fighting gaara and sakura risks her life trying to revive him. Hinata gives naruto a pep talk during the war, Sakura gives a pep talk about how naruto is the worlds hope to the army and to naruto.This isn't even counting most of the narusaku moments in part 2. And sausaku... I can't begin to explain all of what's Wrong with that pairing. Plus, Sakura gives naruto the same treatment she gives sasuke in part one, if not better. So please, someone tell me where we went wrong with this pairing. Was it hinata a intent, our moments not being as meaningful, how sasuke was a motivation for naruto and Sakura working closer together? A combination of it? What went wrong?
Well first of all, hello and nice to see another NS fan. 
Don't accept this ending. NH and SS were always one sided. Up until the very end, we had never seen Naruto show any romantic interest in Hinata. Likewise, Sasuke was never shown to care about Sakura as anything more than a teammate. Meanwhile, it was obvious that Naruto was in love with Sakura and there were multiple instances that could be interpreted as Sakura having romantic feelings for Naruto.
Now I can only speak for myself, but if I had to choose between these pairings, I would choose the one with mutual romantic development. It's true that it was always ambiguous from Sakura's side, but it was still more than what NH and SS had.
And really, that's why I became an NS shipper. It's true that I liked Naruto and Sakura's relationship, but I only liked their relationship because of how well developed it was.
That's why I will never buy into the idea that NS was merely a "red herring" for NH and SS.
