Anyway, if you think about it, this does prove that they target at the west more so than their home territory. In what ways does the series feel like a usual Japanese stories?

I'm not trying to say Japan does this all the time, but they don't usually break the norm and usually up the ante by doing it more clever and more diverse. Like AoT, I can't speak for everyone, but I have heard it's because it's dark and matured that does thing similar but good in a way is what caused the popularity rise up. Not because it's acting like it's trying to be edgy by doing something that new. That's the funny thing because SJ did ask for a dark series. They got it and it got cancelled quickly. It's like they don't learn. They should be lucky their sports and One Piece are doing well, but the magazine might as well call it Sports Jump at this rate.

As for the West, we're the same as well. Or at least family picture. Oddly enough, the one with characters that aren't bland and more like comedy duo with the heroine being the tough one or adventurous while the hero get the beating comedy from environment or from the heroine are the one that get highly praised. Go figure. Lately, I'm seeing family picture that focus on love being the average and below ones.

This is part of my reason why The Last being actually about romantic love was going to ask for bad news. And that trend continues.

Ironically, the opposite is true for a number of fans, including much of the Japanese fanbase. Personally, I don't care for any of the spawn except maybe Kurenai's daughter because she's not just a replicate of one parent or a cheap device used to prolong the series that only appeared at the very end of the original manga.

I know I am in the minority. SS might bother me more than NH.

So long Sasuke don't do too much DBZ feel, I guess that's a way to keep it old school base. Anyway, I feel like Sasuke being there sounds like a new plan but maybe that's just me. I mean they announced Bolt first, then say both of them are there. But who knows. It's still bad enough that Naruto is going to end with Sasuke being main once more. I don't care if Naruto shows up in the last second, that's just stupid. This series lost identity.
