I brought up hinata smiling when sakura hugged naruto to a naruhina shipper and she said that it wasn't in hinata's nature to get pissed off and I quote "even if the man she loves is being hugged by another woman."

Now I have a mental image of Naruto and Sakura having a little private time on a real date , when they both raise their heads to see Hinata watching them with byakugan eyes and a smile on her face.

(I'm reminded of Naruto's reaction to a similar situation. He faked a not convincing smile, and walked out of the hospital room, rather than watch with a sincere smile on his face.)

I actually like having opposing shipping opinions on this thread, it gives us something to talk about, and usually helps keep us positive through debunking them. Although, based on the first line or two of sonicsucks' comment, I'm guessing his/her intentions were less trying to have a friendly argument and more in the realm of trolling. But I don't know, maybe I misread their intentions.

Actually, I can understand where he's coming from. So far, NS has been pushed by 3rd parties. It's those 3rd parties that end up taking the initiative instead of those two. Which is frustrating in its own right. So far, we've seen their relationship from 3rd person POV's, not from 1st person POV's. If you're going to pursue a relationship, don't wait out and have people kicking your ass towards her/him. You've gotta take the initiative.

That's a good point, but for some reason, it doesn't have me worried. I can't think of any good examples, since it's such a broad idea, but I feel like it's much more common in manga/anime story-telling for the characters' feelings to be pointed out through outside sources than through the characters themselves. From what I've seen, the couples really don't take initiative themselves until the final battle, or just a battle one of the characters think they might not come back from. I'm guessing that's what we're going to see here.
The thing that does bother me is that, in most of those cases, the couples' feelings are pretty obvious to the viewer for the duration of the series, while in Naruto the OTP doesn't seem as obvious in the early chapters, at least IMO. But I guess I like it better that way, it's more enjoyable seeing the relationship build up, rather than seem obvious the entire time.

*sigh* I hope chapter 540 actually has some purpose.

I'm pretty sure it will, it wouldn't sense to bring it up just to reinforce an previously established one-sided pairing. It really doesn't seem like Kishi's MO to me. I'm guessing it will tie into Sakura making her final romantic decision. I think you said it on another thread, but her romantic decison between Naruto and Sasuke has been foreshadowed since very early in the series. So I think that panel will weigh into that decision.

I guess it really isn't in her nature to get mad, but the scene showed she was definitely reacting to Sakura's hug, not Naruto's return. We see Hinata's reaction to Naruto being safe right here (before Sakura's hug), but then we see her again right here (during Sakura's hug). So her second reaction, her happy smile with an ellipse drawn next to her, is most likely a reaction to Naruto and Sakura hugging. I also feel like Kishi is making a point of showing that ellipse next to her. She's smiling, but she's also taking note of the current situation. At least that's how I see it.
In any case, her reaction to Naruto and Sakura together is obviously a happy one, while Sakura's reaction to finding out Hinata loves Naruto doesn't seem positive at all. Funny, since I've heard so many NH fans claim that Sakura will play the NaruHina cupid someday. Hardly seems that way to me.

Didn't anyone in this thread said at one point that Hinata would play cupid for narusaku and yeah, Sakura's reaction to the confession was like probably "oh boy, Hinata likes Naruto either I do something big for my relationship with him so that I won't lose him as a friend or I'm screwed, emotionally, or, the least popular opinion here, well she likes him, maybe I can sway Naruto into loving her though I may not like it for my case."

Face it people, NaruSaku ain't happening. Kishimoto and even the main lead confirms that Sakura's love is for Sasuke. And that won't change. Tell me this, does anyone have any proof Naruto still holds strongly to Sakura as a love interest without a third parties vague opinion or he does love Sakura as much as he loves Sasuke as a brother?

I haven't seen any, and he has yet to bring up Sakura in a romantic context on his own statement and words without SAI. Okay, so it's inconclusive, but we do know Sakura harbors feelings for Sasuke, and I believe her resolve and opinion on him will never change despite her sad expression which is also vauge.

Hinata will never change her feelings for Naruto due to her absolute devotion to Naruto.

Naruto well, he said he would die with Sasuke if he came right down to it, so he obviously considers Sasuke more important than Sakura as a person he cares about and wants to be with, otherwise he'd would make a suicide pact with Sasuke if it came down to him going all out on Sasuke if Sasuke could not be saved. He choose death with his best friend over love with his most precious friend.

That says alot.

At least you guys have the most hentai and fanfiction lemons.

3) He's told and shown readers again and again that the type pairing that he thinks is the right one is one where the woman is strong willed and not impressed by the boy at first- it's only as the boy dramatically improves himself and shows her that he's become a better person that she starts to develop feelings for him.

That's a good point, but for some reason, it doesn't have me worried. Some good examples of writing a romance subplot would be Kekkaishi, Hajimete no Aku, Kimi no Iru Machi, and some others I can't think of from the top of my head.

What these series have in common is that the romance is told from a 1st-person POV. THAT's how you write romance.

But he wasn't giving a contrary opinion He said blatantly it wasn't happening. He wasn't debating just giving negativity don't you think? I'm not saying He's not welcome, only pointing out that if he's commenting he should do it more constructively and not put down any shipping especially with a cynical outlook. That's against the rules

To be honest i dont mind people who have constructive critic on there opinion about the ship.

I mean being all negative about everything about the ship and characters that are involved isnt right. You should at least be a bit respectful to the people who like that ship. Or at least be neutral which is ok also its better than being negative all the time.

Unless Kishi's intentions are for the pairings to be unclear. I suppose if that is his goal, and I personally think it is, he is doing a pretty good job at it. I'd say if he meant for us to have no doubts about NS he would have clearly made it canon by now. Since he hasn't, it seems likely he is waiting for a certain moment to put all doubts to rest. Hopefully he does this without further ruining the credibility of his chosen pairing. Dragging things out too long can hurt more than help, in some cases.

Agreed with everything, especially the bolded.

As clear as it does seem sometimes that he's definitely going a certain way, it's mostly for the sake of debating with others that a scene with indisputable proof would be nice. I'm confident that NS is the end pairing of this manga, I'm just impatient to see it unfold.
