Off-topic: does anyone knows a good site to have collection of writings in your storage and what not. I would like to write stuff and share here such as thoughts on this and that.

The Hinata part is confirmed in databook. As for the first one, I will put in rumor. Ask the person for proof. If true, er why are we worrying again?

TheSage: It was a special edition DVD compilation of interviews Kishimoto had done at Jump Fiesta's, NaruSaku conventions, TV spots and such released in Japan. Select Jump subscribers got it in their subscriptions and limited numbers were released at select conventions as prizes. Given that the DVD was never released anywhere outside of Japan and even then, not commercially, it is difficult to tell you exactly where to find it as those who do own it would probably not be willing to part with it.

If you know anyone in Japan who either has it or knows a person who does, see if they will either burn you a copy and send it over or convert it into a torrent file for you.

To sum up what led to that response from Kishimoto, he had been taking questions at a convention and many were centered on real life people as basis for his characters. A follow-up question was centered on a remark from another famous manga writer/illustrator and personal friend of Kishimoto's who had said Kishimoto's wife is very Sakura-like which prompted a query into who Naruto might end up with.

Kishimoto chuckled, admitted his wife is indeed very much like Sakura and in large part, the basis of her character then gave the aforementioned response.

The another famous manga writer and friend of Kishi is Tite Kubo. A long time ago, in another NS debate thread that was before, I remember someone has posted a link about Tite Kubo saying that Kishi's wife looks like Sakura when he met her.

I wIsh I know! D: It's seems kinda weird for something like that to just be in Japan without anyone giving at least information about that. But on the other point, he sounds so sure and I guess stuff from japan is kinda hard to get? (at least that's why I'm always wondering why we never get really much information about the Naruto movies or whatsoever if they are realisied)

it's strange...from the little I've read on 2ch, I didn't found any hint about this interview where Kishimoto talked about his life....

 

But we're talking about the dvd out the lust summer together with the volume of Road to Ninja where there was that special chapter ? Or it's just the RTN DVD out on April?

As far as I understand that, it doesn't have to do with Road tion ninja, at least he doesn't mentioned it. Just that the DVDs were given to some subscribers of (Shonen) Jump with is full with interviews of Kishimoto released in Japan. (Also he mentioned that Kishimoto was on the NaruSaku convention.) But more I dunno and I could also misunderstand that.

Um, I don't think I have ever heard of Kishi going to a NaruSaku con. I don't think theSage seems like one to spread something false, but this DVD doesn't seem like anything official. It was Oda who said Sakura and Kishi's wife were similar, and the point about Hinata's character design is true, but until I see a real source I can't say for sure. Probably bad information.

Edit: Oda's statement was made a long time ago when Kishi got married. I'm not sure if it was a part of an interview.

There are many reasons people ship what they ship, I mean one reason some people ship NH and SS is to get that "Hollywood everyone is happy ending" but not all stories want to follow this, I mean some people just want it to happen because they want it too regardless of the story. But when you listen to reasons from creators of other series like Avatar, why Aang ended up with Katara and not Zuko as originally conceived, they said its mainly because they didn't want Aangs merits to be for nothing or that the intial love planned for Zuko and Katara, just sounded harder to believe and make effective towards the audience, the creators just couldn't agree with the plot route that would have taken them, instead they focused on making Zuko struggle with his choice on betraying Iroh and focused the romance on Aang and Katara during the events leading up to the invasion and later the final battle. Even then there have been more stories where the hero or heroines efforts, when there is a romance subplot involved for them, they usually have to get something rewarded in the end. I mean in the legend of korra, Mako and Korra as of right now, is the canon pairing (I don't ship anything in avatar again but Mako is awesome) but this is virtually the successor to zutara. But the series has 3 seasons to go, obviously more tricks and drama will come their way and shake things up again. But hey again, just going by season 1, Korra's efforts didn't go unmerited now did they? Same with Mako. But theres a lot more to go for a series that just started.

 

Just in a series running almost 15 years, Naruto has been loving Sakura for the longest time, Sakura has grown and matured and thinks highly of Naruto this late in the series. For NS its not only simply about Naruto's merits, trails, or becoming capable to confess. Its not simply about Sakura maturing and realizing real love vs idealistic. Its about both of their growth towards each other. Its not insane to think that the dynamics between Naruto and Sakura which started as her viewing him as a loser or annoying would end the exact opposite now would it? Especially after all that's transpired. Romance in Naruto isn't as big as other series, but its still highly noticeable to the point you see Naruto and Sakura's struggles highly involving the other and being concerned for the other. You see this much more than the times Hinata thinks about Naruto. Yes Sakura may cry a lot, yes she may be unsure or over worry about him, but its because she was concerned about all those after Naruto. She knew for the longest time the deal with kurama and how bad people were targeting him. Heck the 4 tails event impacted Naruto and Sakura both emotionally, Sakura was sad to see this was what naruto had been carrying and Naruto was sad to have hurt Sakura. This repeated again in 457 when Sai told Sakura and again we see Naruto saying why he cannot just confess to Sakura. Even the land of iron was hurtful to both of them. Sakura didn't like having to lie to him and Naruto didn't understand why she would do that, but its still just what Sai said, she was thinking of his feelings, Sakura didn't know what to do, she was desperate and concerned for him but she still tried and with stuff like 631 showing that he still practically loves her, maybe it could stand to reason that he just forgave her for her actions or just moved forward from her action, loving her but not letting her actions have a negative effect on him. Maybe there will be a revisit and wrap up to what Sakura did in the land of iron, maybe she will apologize maybe it will not be revisited and Naruto simply forgave her, but because this moment had no clear answer, there was never any evidence he gave up on loving Sakura or turned to Hinata in the manga. The anime least gave us a notion of him still loving Sakura from ep 235, even as a filler, after the land of iron, he said plain out he loves her. Then came 631, he practically confirms it. Even if it was a joke, with the kushina stuff its still closer than NH and SS in both the manga and anime. Besides if he really thinks of Sakura as his GF or would be psyched at that idea, that should be a notion of how he feels about her.

That was beautiful

I personally ship things if I find a relationship particularly interesting and unique, or if I love how the two characters interact with each other (with the exception of karezi from Homestuck because no matter how well they interact with each other, I just can't bring myself to like it. And believe me. I've tried. I guess I don't find their relationship all that interesting or endearing for that matter).

 

Also, I too hope the confession is revisited. How Naruto and Sakura both go about discussing the confession would be interesting and could even help patch up that bump in the road they had. I don't want Sakura's confession to be left as a loose end. Even though I know that Naruto still blatantly loves Sakura, I want closure on the confession and I think both Naruto and Sakura need closure concerning her confession as well. 

 

I think I'm the only person in Heaven&Earth that has never watched Legend of Korra or ATLA...

 

Edit: I just realized, why people ship a certain ship can follow the same reasons as to why people like a particular character. People like characters that are interesting and endearing. Same goes for ships. People like characters who they can relate to. Same goes for ships. People like characters who are cute. Same goes for ships. It's kind of amazing on how reasons for liking a character can be applied to pairings.

It may already have been implied that Naruto is still thinking about Sakura's confession in 631. And don't worry, neither have I.
