Sorry to temporarily switch the topic back to Kakashi, but I wanted to reply to
Codus and didn't get it done before pages of bad spoilers and troll watch got posted.
I don't think it's obnoxious to have a different opinion. However, I do want to answer the charge that my reasoning is weak.
First of all, I
agreed with your reasoning and said so. You covered a lot of really good elements. I simply
added the dimension that Kakashi and Shizune shared similar death/resurrection experiences to your list of elements -- not as a replacement of it.
In my opinion Shizune rises way above "a random person that died during the Pain invasion" precisely because she is not random. She's an established character in the story, one with whom Kakashi has worked and interacted frequently in a professional capacity. They know each other, they are both very close to and knowledgeable about Konoha's current command structure, both are in high-level positions and implicitly trusted by Tsunade, and both have trained and influenced the story's hero and heroine. Point being, they have a lot in common and a lot of shared experience.
With respect to their deaths during the Pain invasion, specifically, what caught my attention was the fact that Shizune was essentially captured and interrogated by the Human Path -- it read her mind, forcing her to give up information including Naruto's location -- and then tore out her soul. It's similar (only much worse) to what happened to Rin during the Kannabi Bridge mission. It seemed to me that Kakashi would be sensitive to that on a number of levels, and that it might draw him more to Shizune than a random victim of Pain's. Not 1:1 emotional transference, exactly, but maybe some blurring of the lines, opening the door to second chances -- or at least the chance for Kakashi to make a different emotional choice.
I'll stand by what I said. I think being killed by the same enemy and having your souls leave your bodies only to be returned by the same power seems like a pretty compelling bond between two people who already have a lot in common.
It's difficult for me to understand how you can think shipping Kakashi with Shizune because of their shared death/resurrection experience is weak, but shipping him with a one-episode filler girl isn't? Talk about a random hook up....
I know this may sound funny considering I ship Gaara/Matsuri, but I generally don't care for shipping canon characters with fillers -- especially if the filler character isn't a shinobi. Hanare was supposed to be some sort of spy, wasn't she? So that's something, at least. But people ship Kakashi with Ayame too. It's just personal opinion, but I can't imagine Kakashi having a deep, meaningful, understanding relationship between equals with a ramen slinger. Just... no.

As for Hanare, what I'm hoping for is the same scenario Kishi did with Matsuri. At first, she was just a background character in the manga, but the anime expanded on her character before Shippuden came out. And then, Kishi released the databooks and made her canon.
This time, it's reversed. Hanare appears first in the anime, but she later appears in the manga. Some people who hasn't seen the episode may be confused with her appearance and how she seems close to Kakashi, but for those who's seen the episode would know who she is. This is probably a problem. Unless Kishi adds her short backstory later.....
