Yes! I do have
a fantasy an interest in seeing Kakashi and Shizune get together.

I wish I had time to write the story that's in my head, but between NS and Gaara all my free writing time is taken.
I like your reasoning for a Kakashi/Shizune relationship. Besides what you've mentioned, another aspect I like is their shared experience of being killed and resurrected by Pain. I imagine that sort of common ground could lead to a deep and natural bond.
And Shizune may soon find her life a lot... emptier. She may need a strong shoulder to cry on.

I'd say Naruto already has saved him. I think that point was settled during Kakashi's meeting with his father. Kakashi will be shaken by Obito's return, no question, but I'm not sold on the idea that he's going to crumble into a million pieces that only Naruto can glue back together.
Don't get me wrong; I understand that Naruto is the story's savior. But he lacks practical life experience. His power of persuasion and hope lies in his boundless energy and naïveté. What perspective can he share that Kakashi doesn't already know? What intense, never-give-up speech can he give that Kakashi hasn't already heard and taken to heart before? How many times can Kishimoto rely purely on Naruto's simple logic and bravado to convert people or restore their faith? I wonder.
Depending on how the details turn out, it could be that Kakashi and Obito's story will have an equal if not greater affect on Naruto's perspective -- including his love for Sakura and his friendship with Sasuke -- than his reaction will have on either of them. Just a thought.
No offense, and I don't wanna be obnoxious, but.... your other reasoning for KakaShizu sounds weak compared to mine. If that was the reasoning they should get together, shouldn't Kakashi just hook up with a random person that died during Pain invasion??
On the other part of your post, I agree. I think, that this time Naruto's talk no jutsu won't be as effective as the other times he's done it. He may be able to nudge him a little, but that's it. This is because they don't have much in common that Naruto can use to help him. This way, Kakashi's character development will be much more meaningful because Kakashi character would grow on his own merits. Not by the help of others.
Lastly, while I sort of ship KakaShizu, I kind of hope that Kishi will make that filler girl, Hanare from Shippuden 191 canon.
I never count on her to have a plot armor. Sorry to say it that way. The reason why I said Kakashi will live is two things:
1) He is part of Team 7 and main character.
2) It will ruin Naruto's character in terms of surpassing.
I do take Jiraiya's words seriously, because it's obvious to be seen as a compare/contrast with Naruto. If Naruto loses Kakashi, then he fails to go against the odd that Jiraiya already failed. If that happens, then start worrying for him not being with Sakura. I will bet you that Kakashi will survive this. Mark my word.
Actually, he did save him once. So, that technically counts, right??
But don't you think it's possible Naruto took care of all that already, during the Team 7 reunion? As you point out, Kakashi (and Sakura and everyone else) was ready to kill Sasuke because it was an expedient solution to their immediate problem. But Naruto basically squashed that entire line of reasoning by rising above it all, by affirming his intention to remain Sasuke's friend to the end, and take on all of Sasuke's hate while defending the village. I can't imagine Naruto could convey a stronger message to Kakashi than that one, and I doubt Kakashi has forgotten it already. If anything he's about to get the opportunity to apply the concept in his own life.
Interesting you'd say this. I was thinking earlier today, about the possibility that Kishimoto might rekill a character that he's already killed once. It doesn't really seem Kishi's style, but you never know.
To be honest, I have considered the possibility that Kakashi will be the one to die again. There was something about the description of how Kamui works... it made me wonder if he and Obito might fight and use Kamui on each other, and end up marooned together in the dead zone or something -- cancel each other out and be unable to get back. Sort of like that classic Star Trek episode where the two versions of Dr. Lazarus had to enter the corridor between the matter and antimatter universes at the same time, and then would be stuck there forever. Having got the idea from Naruto -- to take on all the misery of your best friend and die with him -- it might be something Kakashi would do.
I don't know. I'm probably just being paranoid.
I very much agree. That would probably be the most likely option Kakashi will go with. I've thought that Kakashi might likely use the Shiki Fuujin on Obito and Madara, but if that happens, that kinda defeats the build-up of Madara vs Naruto. So, your theory with Kamui might be the most likely option Kishi will go with. It would also fit very well with Kakashi's character. In order to atone for all of his "sins", Kakashi will likely pull a suicide murder with Obito.
I could see him telling the Kages that, in order to make up for all of his mistakes that he made to the world, he would sacrifice his life to make up for it. It'd be tragic, and I'm dreading it as well
