Ive talked to some of you about some new ideas for next season. These ideas are just that, ideas. Nothing set in stone. But they are:
.Divisions, creating a couple of divisions and leaving open a wildcard spot or two.
.Pre-determining the draft order. Either in reverse order like the NFL, or a lottery situation.
.Make this a money league. Setting up a paypal account that everyone throws five bucks into and the League Winner gets the cash. We can up the ante if everyone is cool with this.
.Extend the season to a full 17 weeks. Only problem being, greater chance of losing players to injuries, or plays sitting in wake of the NFL playoffs.
If anyone else has anything to add, please do.
Heres to an even better season next year.

We outta change a WR spot to make it a WR/RB slot so there would be 2 WR, 2 RB, and 1 that could be either. That's how it was in my other league this season and I preferred it.

I don't like making it a money league. It was be hard for me to justify that considering I'm trying to save every cent to buy a house. I do like the WR/RB idea. One issue that was chronic for a lot of teams is the third WR. So many receivers were necessary it became really slim pickings.

Draft order - Maybe... if we keep the majority of the players from last year. I'd be wary of people trying to tank if their season isn't going well (as opposed to just not paying attention), so leaning no here as well.
Money league - I don't mind a small one but if there are those saying 'no,' then no.
Extend the Season to Week 17 - NO. Do you really want the championship to be determined by the likes of Joe Webb?
Changing the third WR spot to a flex WR/RB - I like this change, it allows for less rigid strategies.

Secondly, and on to next year.
Division-I'm not against having divisions, would make things more interesting.
Draft Order-I'd like to stay away from draft order just giving my position for this season, or past season depending on how you wanna look at it. Would like to have a chance at some of my past prospects.
Money League- Depending on the amount for the pot, I'm in favor.
Extending season- Notta, Let's keep it too what we had it.
Flexible WR/RB- I'm onboard for have an exchangeable WR or RB for next yr.
Anyway, had fun this season and can't wait for next year.

I'm against extending the season - at least until the season gets expanded to 18 games.
I don't care about it being a money league as long as it's cheap like just $5.
I think that I'd like to see the scoring for QBs get changed so that they don't get quite as much for TDs. It makes the QB position too important.
I don't like the scoring for fumbles. IMO, it should be -1 point for fumbling and -1 for the other team recovering. When it's -2 for each, you can lose 4 points on a fumble, but just 2 for an interception.
I like the current scoring for kickers.
Predetermining the draft only works if we have the same group as last year and if we keep about half the team. I'm assuming that we'll have some turnover which would sink that.

I know in a lot of default leagues QB scoring goes 4 for a passing TD, -1 for an interception. 6/-2 does make the QB very important, but I'm fine either way - you just have to adjust your draft strategy accordingly.

Oh come on. You can reschedule, right? What's more important - fantasy football or your daughter?

It's still early so we shouldn't have much trouble finding a time because most of us probably won't have blocked out much that far in advance.

C'mon Nick, like you have to ask. Fantasy football, of course. Don't tell my wife I said that.

Seriously, though, I'm pretty flexible so long as it's in the evening. The only dates I'd have issue with are Sept. 10, 16 (son's B-day) and the 17 (his b-day party), but, I hope, the season will have started by then. I plan on moving sometime this summer, but I have no idea when until I hear from all the parties involved. That is the only other hitch for me. As soon as I know I will let people know.

Nothing with changing the Kicker values for field goals to yahoo defaults?

More valuable kickers.

Idk, doing that, sure it would make them more valuable but I'm not sure how it would look for some up four points suddenly lose on a long field goal kick. Not that I'm totally against it.

No kidding. But losing to the kicker, regardless of points, always causing hearburn. Just ask Nee-sama and Garret Hartley.
EDIT: Moving date will likely be mid September. So, I think I fine if we make draft day sooner than the 27.
