Oh right wait, it's because he's not Korra's official boyfriend. Yes, I gotcha. Sure, understandable. Hmmmm!
OH Hey thanks! Now that I've been educated, I'll let my half-sister know that the next time she's in extensive care after another extreme car accident and why I'm not freaking out, it's because she's not my full sister. Or hey! How about when my cousin's fiance gets mugged and is seriously injured again, I'll let him know the reason why I'm so chill is because he's not IN the family, juuuust yet. OR HEY, when my adopted twins get kidnapped down the line and after I find them safe, why I didn't tear kitten apart and threaten their kidnappers with death - it was because they're not my real kids.
thanks, without you guys I'd be so silly and emotional and not be taken seriously ever! gosh. <3
ps,
yeah I'm aware I'm being snarky but can you blame me? You're pointing fingers without considering the four that are pointing right back at you. Give me something to believe Mako was wrong, other than that irrelevance you provided before (i.e., no gf, no emotion). Convince me. If not, don't name-drop me in your "argument" again.
First of all, I was not name-dropping you negatively, I was merely stating the facts, or will you deny the fact that I think that Mako was being unresonable and you think he was not? So sorry if I don't bother writing a whole freaking essay to clarify that. I was only trying to state that we agree to disagree, nothing more than that. I guess I can't do anything if you can't help it but read too much into my comments.
You know, I was actually really trying to sound as resonable as possible in my responses to both you and everyone else in this thread, but if it will only result into you using sarcasm against me, you can forget it, I have no patience for this kind of thing. I was not trying to point fingers at you, I was trying to say that we have different point of views about this character, but it doesn't matter, you won't listen will you?
So let's make a favor to each other? Why we don't stop replying to each other comments before we end up saying something we might regret? I really done talking to you Krisk, so be kind enough and stay the hell away from me. Goodbye.

I was very depressed when ^ happened. And I've said it a zillion times. But I can't help but hope that she'll get her bending back! :<

alex, don't take what I'm saying personally. I'm not attacking you I'm attacking your argument.
if you're in a debate, you've gotta develop thicker skin (i.e., concentrate on the words). there's no way around this.
but fine alright? If you want to agree to disagree that's perfectly alright (wished you'd spelled it out tho). And I'm aware of your respect in your replies, but when you exemplified me as your opposition, I replied in turn. I'm listening and I agree - let's disagree. (All I was doing is wanting more from you tbh, but okay whatever)
I'm not going to stop replying to your posts, but you're free to not respond if you want. Again not debating you as a person, but what you write. I wasn't even aware it was you that was behind those posts.
LOL NO I took ap psych in highschool, like 50 years ago

but omg yes.
Do NOT make me close this thread.
chill your mod-kittens, krazy. We're not fighting, our point-of-views are. I admit I was more snarky. That said, I'll take the brunt of it - all of it. So just officially warn me as an example or temp-ban me or whatever instead of closing this thread. I've worked my ass off on it, and for it to close for such trivial reasons would be pretty goddamn lame.
so yeah, don't put your judgment on this thread, put it out on me. Forget alex, he did nothing wrong.
Leave this thread alone, and do what you will to me.

OMG jump-start please yes. I did write an essay back there on why everyone's a douchebag, not just Mako so if anyone wants to gander go ahead!
predictions:
-Amon's working for Koh
-The ocean spirit is letting these OP bloodbenders exist
-in that preview, before Amon puts his hand on Korra's forehead chakra - I think he's gonna stop and threaten Mako's life for her to activate her most desperate defense-mechansim
-Bolin will eat it
-Asami might defect with her father - although I hope not
-Katara will die in S02
-Korra will restore bending (because SHE HAS TO LIN ;_;)
-the Fire Lady is hawt as hell
OMG THAT'S ALL I HAVE GIB ME URS

NOW MEIN:
1) When Amon is about to take Korra's bending away, she'll be like "Lol no, I'm the avatar punk" and go Avatar state OR
2) She'll get her bending taken away- but what?! SEASON 2 WILL BE ABOUT FINDING HERSELF SPIRITUALLY AND RE-AWAKENING HER BENDING POWERS BECAUSE SPIRIT BENDING CAN BE UNDONE?!

3) My Lin has to get her bending back one way or another

4) Asami will defect to her father (I hope not too but with all the ish going down I feel like Daddy's all she'll have left

5) Hoping Bolin will play a bigger role in errthang XD
6) Moar badassery (Always a must for LoK

Also, I hope to see young grown-up Katara at some point- maybe while revealing the origin of the bloodbenders etc (

no mein waifu i lub u moar
1) LOL yes please. Although she's not even spiritual enough to do it by herself? I'd call hax if so, Korra's always had to do things to hard way and if she gets a Aang-cop-out I'll be like NOPE. I'm wondering what they'll do with Mako too. OMG did you hear that rumor he's gonna cry? What if - awwwshiiit.
2) SEE NOW THAT'S A POWER I CAN GET BEHIND. Spread the love, not take it away. and LOL what will they call Book 2? Book 2: LOL JK MORE AIR, Book 2: Oh hey about that Air..., Book 2: Woosh woosh? HMM

3) I KNOW

4) Yeah seriously. And to be honest, I can't feel all that peeved because Asami is just shipping-fodder at this point. Regardless, I hope her confrontation with Hiroshi will be good.

5) LOL ikr? Bolin really needs his own arc. OH OH speaking of,

Rinaldi said this concerning Skeletons in the Closet, maybe we'll see Bolin's dirty-secret next week? I'm kind of skeptical personally because he hasn't really DONE anything yet. I hope they don't cop-out and kill him :/
6) well yes

Is it just me, or are there moments when others see bleed-throughs where characters in the new series remind them of old ones? For example, there are times when Korra does something and I am reminded of Toph or Sokka or someone. Same goes with other characters...Mako, for instance, has many Zuko moments, no?
Personally, though, I think I liked Last Airbender's pacing better. They weren't rushing to only fit 'X' amount of story in so few episodes...Korra just seems rushing from big event to big event in each episode with little time between things. In the previous series, they had entire episodes for the kids to not worry about the next disaster or mission or what have you....the ep where Toph and Katara end up in jail, for example, for trying to scam the locals into giving them a reward for returning Toph to her parents or something (been a while since I saw the ep, so memory is rusty). My point? ATLA wasn't just about action, it was about kids being thrust into a war as the primary figures on both sides, thus resulting in, what I still feel, was some of the best written material out there. In Korra, though, pacing kinda ruins things...not that the show isn't a good one, but I would have still liked a slower pace, perhaps a longer season to fit more material in, particularly material that wasn't so focused on the big conflict of the arc....and I have no idea if I'm making any sense at all, lol.

They would skip all fillers seasons short, cuz we don't want another "great divide". I do agree though, but I am also greatful to Bryke. They made LoK because fans asked for more Avatar. you just gotta love them. :3

As for pacing, I still have to say I like the slower pacing of Last Airbender. They were, after all, kids and there were plenty of episodes reflecting how kids are known for going off on tangents that had nothing to do with the Fire Lord arc.
And, yes, I have read up on the following episodes, so I know the summaries of what happens.

Okay, I admit there was a point where I actually put LoK on hold, around ep 5, but then things started picking up and I was hooked all over again. I watched the last season of ATLA between episodes because for some reason I never got to finish XD SUCH. A MASTERPIECE.
So far, I really like Bolin. He's a nice guy. I wasn't so sure about Asami at first but she's definitely grown on me (the race cars convinced me. oh, and the kick-assery). And after the latest episode? I was on deviantart for hours digging up Lin and Toph fanart

Haven't had time to read the thread at all but glancing through Abel's post, I have to agree that I seem to like ATLA better. Doesn't mean I'm unsatisfied with Korra - rather, I like the shows in different ways, because they're different shows, after all! ATLA was fun yet at the same time action-packed, intense and at times dark - I'm still impressed by how they managed to balance different audience themes. There's way more of LoK to come so it wouldn't be fair to compare them seriously at this point, but I bet LoK will be epic in its own way

And another reason why I love LoK? Because I am remembering what it's like to become emotionally attached to something longer than finished 12-24 ep anime

This is how I'm feeling as well. As much as I'm enjoying Korra, Avatar is still the crowning achievement of the ATLA/LOK creative team for me

I think the dynamics and characters were better in Avatar, I mean - no one beats Iroh and Toph!

My husband and I were talking about the pace of LOK compared to ATLAB yes the pace is much faster however they were able to really make some likable characters in a very short amount of time. I care for everyone and its insane that the series has just gone by so fast yet I'm so emotionally involved in their story. I made a comment to John telling him that even though its shorter the story telling and characters are amazing. Yes ATLAB was simply classic, I loved every moment of it. However LOK hasn't done bad for itself, and I can only imagine what it can do if it slows down a bit, maybe it will in season 2
