I don't really care about other pairings, I guess I like KibaHina and SasuKarin since they'd pave the way for our pairing, but that's hardly shipping for it's own merit.
Some of the best NaruSaku fanfics I've read have had ShikaIno to some extent, and I guess they make a pretty cute couple. ShikaTema's great too, since Temari's also strong-willed, but the idea of Naruto/Sakura and Shikamaru/Ino going on double dates and such seems like a nice idea in fanfics. Of course, that sort of thing probably wouldn't make a difference in the manga.

I like SasuKarin and ShikaIno/ShikaTema - but not enough to ship them on their own. I don't side ship them, as I like those relationships in their own right (and don't care one way or the other for other potentially convenient side ships, such as KibaHina or NejiHina).

The only other pairing that I honestly ship would be MinaKushi.

That might be true, but I don't see why magnitude would make a difference. A trope's a trope right? Since Sakura clearly doesn't hate Naruto, any argument that tries to push the 'Sakura hates Naruto because she hits him' idea just falls flat.

Agreed- regardless of how serious of an issue people try to make the hitting, its obviously always been for comedic effect and its ridiculous to use this as a serious argument against the pairing.

Tell me about it. I'm sure there'll be something when they finally meet on the battlefield, but there's SOOOOOO many different things going on right now. I'm still thinking we'll just get a cute scene when they meet, but the big moment will be right before Naruto goes off to fight Sasuke. Then I'll cross my fingers for something like the 2011 OVA scenario .

This is definitely along the lines of what I'm expecting too. There is a lot to cover before Naruto and Sakura potentially run into one another again, but even separated, a scene of one of them thinking of the other would suffice for now (as thinking of another was apparently enough to cement other pairings).

The reason I brought that up was because she shipped edXwinry and I questioned her about that because I found it weird that she shipped one tsundere pairing and not another and she said that there was little comparison because "sakura hit naruto harder than winry hit ed" which made no sense to me.

That's a rather ludicrous statement for that person to make, as Winry was depicted chasing after Ed with a chainsaw and beat him to bloody smear on the ground - both are obviously meant for comical effect, but only one is taken seriously.

It's nothing more than blatant double standards.

they are just trying to kidd them selves. No tsundere ever hits softly compared to another, period. hence the tsundere. It's for comedy people don't get that

Anyway, if/when N/S meet or encounter each other, it better be at the least a moment full of substance and worth taking apart piece by piece to understand underlying messages. I hate being fed with a spoon, just show me the food, give me the damn utensil and let me figure out how to indulge in it! And if it's not, well, I can't be a beggar and a chooser can I? I shall enjoy any moment, but one with the former description would make my summer all the better.

NEVER! Dragon Ball is not nearly as good a manga as Naruto. That's just my opinion, but most people should agree with me if it's about the emotional component of the series.
Anyway, even though I don't like the thought of Sasuke surviving, I have to admit it's very likely to happen. Since the death/survival of Sasuke is THE cornerstone of the ending, he's probably gonna encourage Naruto HIMSELF to confess to Sakura.

Nope, Because Goku never had any romantic feelings for Bulma, much less a crush. He was attracted to Chi-chi, and Chi-chi was much more a feisty girl than Hinata would ever be. (It's more a parallel for Gaara and Matsuri. Gaara was pretty oblivious to girls before her, she's a minor character, has a crush on Gaara but she's feisty. Kishimoto has done just enough in a vague way that no one is going to be shocked at them getting together. Gaara's other female compatriot is his older sister who has a personality more like Bulma's. He just made explicit what Dragonball made more implicit, Goku thought of Bulma like a sister, while Temari is Gaara's older sister.)

Yeah, besides the whole Dragonball argument is stupid anyway. Kishimoto may have been inspired by Dragonball, but that doesn't mean that he should copy it it down to the last detail. Besides, this is a totally different story with different characters and different circumstances.

As for the whole "main male/main female pairing is a cliche!" argument. Yeah it is, but then again, EVERYTHING is pretty much a cliche in these kinds of stories, including Hinata. To me the "Shy girl confesses her feelings to guy. Guy falls in love with her. Then they live happily ever after!" is just as cliched.

Its not about whether something is a cliche or a trope or whatever. It's about using those cliches and/or tropes in a compelling way.

Sure NaruSaku may be a stereotypical "main male/main female" and/or "main protagonist/tsundere" pairing. But that's not what makes it so great. The reason why I, and alot of other people, like NaruSaku is because of the chemistry and the deep realtionship that Naruto and Sakura have. Not because he's the main protagonist and she's a tsundere or because he's the male lead and she's the female lead.

Hell, if NaruSaku didn't have so much mutual development, I probably wouldn't like it half as much as I do now.

Hmmmm, I kinda see your point, but does anyone really watch Dragonball Z for the pairings?

I agree with this point, because if a couple of posts ago, I said that I wouldn't mind naruhina if there was mutual 50/50 development. I wouldn't like it, but I would have accepted it because that's the way that kishi would have taken it, but it's too late at this stage for some development, so at this point its narusaku or nothing.

I know narusaku is the inevitable pairing but if God forbid naruto and hinata became a couple UGH... would hinata be able to control naruto's perverted tendencies or would they just dissapear because he is with someone now? I bring this up because this is an argument that a naruhina fan used when I brought up the fact that sakura is the only one who can control said perverted tendencies.

The way NaruSaku is going in Naruto is going though growth. I mean Sakura really started to know Naruto more than the knuckhead ninja that he was. I like the way Kishimoto is making NaruSaku go though so much. Even with that fake confession Naruto understand why she did what she did.

I've heard this comparison before (from a NaruHina fan, no less), but it only really works superficially. Goku never had feelings for Bulma, in fact I'd say Chi-Chi was his first love (other than food, LOL). On top of that, as an adult, I'd say Chi-Chi has a lot more in common with Sakura than anyone. I can't really see Hinata chewing out Naruto about Naruto Jr's education the same way Chi-Chi did.

I think if Kishi was going for that comparison, he'd have made Hinata a LITTLE more outgoing in Part II, as opposed to being the same one-dimension shy girl she was in Part I.

THAT'S what Oda is for He pretty much bases his work on Dragon Ball all the way anyways not much in Dragon Ball was planned out at all Kishimoto is actually planning In Naruto so no worries

It's also a reminder why little changes in the anime may cause some people to feel less strongly about NS, compared to the manga readers.

In the clip you mentioned, after Sai butts in, Sakura holds back Naruto's arm to keep him from attacking Sai.

In the manga (chapter 343, pg 13), Naruto is still upset. But we also see that Sakura has clenched her fists. While not clear cut (we don't see her facial reaction), her posture would indicate that she also is mad at Sai's interference.
