honestly this stuff of "Kishimoto was forced by Shueisha and SP" looks like a huge bullsh** to me. We are talking about one of the most powerful mangaka of the manga's modern era, second only ot Eiichiro Oda and Akira Toriyama (which has practically retired for years though). I find totally illogical that he has been forced to choose an ending like that. We talk about the quality of the manga in the last 4-5 years (practically from the end of Pain saga). The only nice thing was the battle between Danzo and Sasuke pretty much. About the rest, let draw a veil over it. So many downs and so very little ups. The sh*tty ending is prefectly consistent with the sh*tty quality he has maintained in these years.
The Nagato's redemption was a clear sign of how he has decided in which way the things should go onwards. So no, the thing that Kishimoto was forced isn't much credible, at all. Probably he received a lot of pressures, but nothing forbade him to object to these pressures. He is one of the most influential and powerful mangaka.
The simply stuff is that Kishimoto noticed, over the years, that NS was the most logical pairing of the story but, since he is naive and idiot, he felt sorry for Hinata and didn't want to aggravate Sakura's position who was already seen as a fickle girl (addressed to SS fandom).
reblog this because it's damn funny.

eh but "u loved me 'cause ur rivalry with Sauce-kun, right?"
LOL hiretsu-sensei and SP
Idk, I think it's kinda possible he was forced, but only after the departure of his first(?) editor, who left shortly after the pain arc. After that is when the story went downhill. So when you say that he was "high powered", part of me thinks that the editor himself was more responsible for the series' success up to the point that he left. If it was Kishi, there wouldn't have been a decline in quality, because he would have kept on the same path. The decline itself is evidence to me that he had people whispering (yelling) in his ear about what he should do, because everything changed after the pain arc.
To me, it gets even more clear when you compare it to someone like Oda, who never lets people tell him what to do, which you are able to tell by the consistency of the story itself.
So that's why I think it's believable that he got forced, but also that he bought in to what they were telling him.
I saw this post and it's something I have been kinda saying for myself. Sadly, SS destroys Sakura's character. Makes her look weak, pathetic and nothing more than a fangirl...
Yeah, that's why the ending hurts so much. I said before that it was funny how we all said we were fans of the individuals over the pairing, but we said that because we believed Naruto and Sakura would still be Naruto and Sakura in the event that they didn't end up with each other. The ending just goes to show that the relationship itself was much more important than we originally believed, as it didn't happen. and the alternative completely eradicated the characters we knew and loved. It goes to show just how much they needed each other in order to be themselves, and Kishi stole that from us.
