That only means a closing of the site was cherrypicked at the most convenient time when positive comments were most prevalent, not that they didn't come from native Japanese speakers.

Pokemon still has the video game franchise to earn them revenue. Why they continue to make films and the anime though? I don't know. It's similar to the Sonic franchise that's been garnering mostly negative to mediocre ratings for the past decade. No matter how badly their product performs, they just continue to churn it out for whatever reason.

Pokemon also has a highly regarded manga series of it's own, so yeah I understand how it wasn't the greatest of references. As for Sonic, Sega's biggest problem is they diverge too far from what made Sonic's games likiable, his speed and platforming. It's fine to try an get innovative, but it has to be able to incorporate both of those features. With how well Sonic Colors and Generations were received, I just can't believe they didn't try to work off what made those games great. There biggest selling point as of recent is just Sonic's name and their ungodly ability to never fail at soundtracks.

 

 

 

Don't forget, this film's production value is much higher compared to RtN's. Even if it eventually outpaces the previous movie, if it doesn't earn more than the total budget and expenses that were sacrificed to create it, there won't be a profit for the studio. Although I doubt finances will be much of a concern to them. The Last has apparently earned more than RtN already at the box office, and it's still being prepped for international release in four different countries.

I suppose that's a good way of looking at it. I don't specifically know what it's box office sales are though...all I remember was it managed to top RTN's first week revenue.

Did they have a specific date of closing announced prior? Not that it matters all too much. Pierrot is just as capable of creating positive comments on the site right as it's about to close as they are able to fabricate reviews on YJ.
