After reading more pages than I should I just wanna say this: The negativity of some people here is surely surprising
NS is definitely more likely to happen than an open ending. Now the question is: will it have a good resolution? Of course not that was impossible in the first place...
Like somebody here already said the romance was damaged because of the crappy love triangle. In all seriousness, Sakura should have fallen out of love with Sasuke 300 chapters ago. And the same for Hinata, realistically speaking, her "love" is so much of love as my teenage crush on Blake Lively was, she barely knows the guy there's nothing in there
only the SP fillers can make it somewhat believable and that's extremely debatable...
I don't expect a good resolution, in terms of romance, since Kishi decided to make Sakura to still love Sasuke and make her feelings for Naruto conviniently forgotten or ambiguous.
So the people that are disappointed because NS won't be believable, well I'm surprised so many of you thought it could still have a good resolution, there would never be a good resolution because Kishi decided to play with pairings and characters. For example a sudden epiphany of Sakura was never going to make it believable (c'mon this is love we're talking about not some scooby-doo "so the owner used the werewolf mask to get an indemnization"), to have an epiphany she first would have to realize there might be something besides friendship in regards to Naruto, which she, for the sake of the triangle credibility (if there was such a thing in the first place), never did. After Yamato's more than obvious hint she could have started to notice, but what do we get? Nothing. If in that moment in time she had the best oportunity to think about her feelings and she didn't do it, what made you think she would do it latter on when there were no more hints close to this level of obviousness.
Of course he couldn't make Sakura love Naruto, the triangle would lose is surprise effect because it would make the outcome obvious, and for that I blame Kishi because he never made Sakura's love for Sasuke have any sort of basis to be called as such, if he had done so he could have made the triangle more credible.
So, expect NS next chapter but don't expect a good resolution, the best case you might get is an epiphany (or a hidden epiphany that happened in the past and Kishimoto decided to not show before
). A satisfactory resolution would only be possible if the next movie covered Sakura and Naruto's relationship growth and you just get an epilogue in the manga worth of NS.
