thoughts about episode 2

Look what character finally gets introduced! Akira Mado. She acts exactly the way I imagined her to be like. Organized, super blunt, and a Mrs. Know-it-all woman to the point that it is annoying XD Poor Amon.

It's good to see that some of the manga content is still incorporated into season 2. I was surprised to see the leaders of the CCG to be presented this early b/c we actually didn't get to see their faces until later in one of the 120-130 chapters.

What I'm dumbfounded why no one from the Anteiku cafe seems to be questioning what is going on. Did Touka just not tell them the truth about Kaneki joining Aogiri Tree, or what?

Also, Kaneki! What are you doing there? I know I have to be patient, but I wish I would have seen more of him. He barely said anything from some sounds such as "uh". It's hard to accept that he might be killing humans, something that he tried to avoid in post-aogiri Arc.

EDIT: I just realized that Kaneki drinking his coffee is his way of reminiscing his friends in Anteiku.

Love the new pictures from the ending. Are we to expect new pictures every week?

Overall, I'd give the episode a 7.9/10. Little bit slower-paced than last week, but enjoyable to watch.

I don't believe Kaneki ate him too, because of what happened in chapter 9.

 

Hide has been one of my favorite characters, since the start. I loved who he was, and how much he cares and know Kaneki

I love the relationship he and Kaneki have. I first thought that he was just a character who was there, but I started to respect the fact that we went out of his way to rescue his friend by risking his life, too.

I love that kind of relationships in Manga's, it shows how strong bonds can be, and how they risk there life, to get another person to live.

Wonderful friendship, and to be absolutely honest, I believe that his relationship to Hide is the strongest and most significant one to Kaneki. As much as I love Touken, Kaneki's and Touka's relationship cannot compare to the history these two boys have shared for each other.

True. There relationship is beautiful. Touka and Kaneki relationship is also beautiful, but you are right how Touka and Kaneki's relationship can't be compared to Hide and Kaneki's.

Most likely during his stay in Germany or in the CCG he came into contact with Ghouls. Why Aogiri Tree? No clue. Aogiri Tree is interested in one-eyed ghouls, which is pretty much the only shared interest Kanou and Aogiri Tree have right now. Btw, about Kanou: Someone on tumblr made a theory about this bodyguard of Kanou:

Someone said that this might be... Arima ?You know, for some reason, I can imagine Kanou actually having a living relative such as a son or daughter. But I doubt this is Arima.

I also believe that Yomo knew everything about Kaneki and Rize. Yoshimura knew from the start and must have told Yomo about it. How Yoshimura, however, found out- dunno.
I totally forgot about that! I can see Yomo having a Kakuja, the rebel he was back then. I really don't think that he is betraying Kaneki, especially after he has shown to trust Kaneki in his abilities.

Do you think Arima cares about Kaneki? It's hard to tell you know... You can barely make out any facial expressions in his face. He's been like that when he was 16 in Tokyo Ghoul:Jack, in TG, and now in :re.
I would love to see a confrontation b/w Yomo and Arima. So far we haven't really seen the two of them unleashing their full potential. And in addition to this, if Yomo turns out to be Touka's uncle (we've talked about this), the significance of this fight would be even greater.

Unfortunately, Yomo later said that he knew nothing about Rize, that he was only acting I n Yoshimura's orders. Looks like we were wrong lol

I think that Arima cares about Kaneki, a lot of people do, but I don't think he'd hesitate to kill him. I think that at some point in RE, the sentiment will cause Arima and Yomo to fight. I think Yomo would end up protecting Kaneki.

Also, speaking of Kanoe, I found this interesting:

Before the Anteiku fight, Yoshimura is approached by members of his former organization "V". Note how the guy says that Yoshimura is a bird in a birdcage, the same analogy Kanoe used when talking to Kaneki...

I also think "V" will be important later

She's a really likable character. Almost no one hates her. I guess her tomboyish nature really grew on us. Most fans gradually start to like and respect her.

Or maybe it's b/c she recently reappeared in the manga and took away everybody's breath with the feels and her beauty. People flip out already when they get to see a single panel of her in :re XD

Some fans were saying that Ayato destroyed her wings, but unless he also devoured her Kakohou, she should be able to regenerate her Kagune.

It's only one wing. I never noticed it before, but only one side of her wing is fully developed.

So, I wonder if he actually trained with his Kagune a lot as a CCG investigator... Kaneki is one badass guy! Oh, and let's not forget his Kakuja form, which might already have reached completion (if he actually is living of from some liquids made out of ghouls).
