If its out of nowhere then I would go like WTF and feel out of place, and frankly I don't see how the pairing can be majorly developed right now because well the focus of the story isn't on romance

 

I would not but a part of the fandom would accuse Isayama of queerbaiting as well because of Yumikuri

 

 

That's how I'm feeling right now too tbh, I know people are getting hyped about it, but it's not like this a shoujo series no ofcourse not this is a shounen romance will definitely be the last thing on Isayama's part because it's not the main focus of the series. It's The Titans that's the whole focus of the series and that's what should be and is the most important part.

Some of my friends actually found her pretty annoying in the beginning of the series because they considered her "The Hinata" of AoT. Funny thing is they're only watching the anime and are kinda stubborn to read the manga for some reason, and I'm gonna find it hillarious to see what their reaction when they see just what Historia has to offer in the second season because I'm pretty sure that's going to be a shocker for sure especially when it comes to the whole big mystery behind what happened to Eren's Father.

I received a few requests about translating my copy of this, so without further ado, here are bullet point summaries of the interviews by suniuz​ and edited by me - she and I will work on a more complete translation as well!

Isayama Hajime on Eren
“The Man Who Resists Mere Wishes for Security”

• The character of Eren was born after Isayama conceptualized the entire SnK universe. He was designed to thoroughly express the theme of the series.
• Eren’s determination of escaping the walls is amplified by an overall rebellious attitude - he’s very keen on “defying” this idea of confinement (T/N: In other words, Eren’s motivations might actually be somewhat different from Armin’s desire of simply “going out to see the world”).
• Isayama himself couldn’t understand Eren at first, because he does not possess the same extroverted mindset. Even though Isayama can now afford trips to go abroad, he doesn’t really want to travel.
• Kaji Yuki’s passionate portrayal of Eren also influenced Isayama - it helped him understand and transform Eren’s innate desire of “I want to get out” into “I must get out.”
• Now in the manga, Isayama writes Eren with the mindset of “I must get out” or “I’m against the common belief that people should not try to get out.” Eren is adamant that all of humanity should escape.

Tetsuro Araki on Eren
“One Must Not be Constrained by the Chain of Common Sense”

• He does not add too much that’s new, but he does emphasize that Eren embodies a will to not be tied down by the norm.

I still honestly don't see Eren ending up with anyone except for Mikasa. I don't think Eren and Historia really get along that well, they just kind of work off each other. I've never seen a deep connection between them, they are more two people with the same end goal who are working towards it together.

 

Could be wrong though of course, and I'm willing to read and be shown otherwise. Just my two cents right now.

Oh yeah. With Annie I think she was more pissed that Eren may have been a bit conflicted cause he had a bit a crush on Annie then anything else. I mean yeah she was already pissed off about her almost taking Eren away don't get me wrong, but that hint he Eren may be feeling bad for Annie because of a previous connection her had with her. Watch out!

 

Granted I personally think Annie deserved all she got and more, but I still found it funny. Doesn't Mikasa say something like "Enough of this, I''m going to carve you into little pieces Titan!"  When they have her in the trap, and Eren acts genuinely sad that it's Annie. Then Mikasa acts like she's about to cut Annie's head off then and there.

 

It's a great scene.

I knew that I recognized that voice from some place, I blame root A for not making remember Kaneki's VA style so clearly since you know his lines there were pretty much 1 page only

It's a shame tbh. Natsuki Hanae is a new rookie, but already so talented and such a funny person (seriously, check out that video in the TG thread of him- I died laughing). If there will ever be an anime reboot, I'd be overjoyed to hear him come back. He amazed me with season 1. And Mamoruu Miyano, too! Tsukishima Shuu would't be the same on the screen w/out that voice actor XD

The spoilers were interesting to be honest when it comes to Kenny to be quite honest. Historia as the queen I'm not sure if I can say it bothered me, but it is intresting to say the least. Not much more I can say until the chapter comes out which hopefully that means it either comes out tonight or tomorrow.
