okay so I'm about 34 episodes deep into Hunter x Hunter (2011), and I'll share my post on what I think of it so far later today in the hunter x Hunter thread, but... from what I've seen so far... 

 

I'm seeing alot of things that came from Naruto, and I know that Hunter x Hunter came out before Naruto did in terms of the manga... so I guess the question I'm trying to bring up is do you guys believe that Naruto ripped off Hunter x Hunter?

 

 

 

For me, I can definetly see parts that it "tried" to take inspiration from, but ended up replicating what Hunter x Hunter has in many ways...

 

 

"cough cough" Sasuke's character being a combination of Kilua and Kurapika  yeah real original Kishi real original!

Honestly the reason I even followed Naruto, was because it reminded me of other stories that I liked.

It had elements from different places. And it was everything that I liked put together. And I don't think I'm alone in that.

Also I've got the perfect punishment for Naruto turn him into a highlander that way he can't have kids so bolt and himawari can't happen and he can watch as those he cares about die while he can't unless someone cuts his head off.

Ummm superman and his race, darkseid.
At most characters in naruto move faster than sound, destroy mountains, the space thing no no no no no no an infinite number of no's that never happened and when it did it was never explain or brought up in the movie or talked about again. Invulnerable to harm ha ha ha ha is that why naruto almost died several times and sasuke to but his is more kitten, none of them are Invulnerable to harm if they bleed and died. Like Dutch said in predator if it bleeds we can kill it, pretty sure obito, madara at their peak ten tails bled and kaguya but I'm not sure cause I didn't read the fight yet.

it's Superman and other Kryptonians alike, which is why people actually find the gall to say Naruto and Sasuke can beat Superman and Wonder Woman, or they think the Narutoverse can take out Superboy-Prime or Silver Age Superman lol.

No no no no no naruto nor sasuke couldn't beat wonderwoman, wonderwoman has decades of training over them and is a warrior, she's fought gods of her mythos, superman goes to to with two of the most powerful villains In the DCu. Villains that naruto, sasuke or the whole naruto verse could hope beat. Hell the flash is 10 times or more faster than sasuke is, green Lantern has more power in his ring than those two ever had. Granted I little about the comic version of these character but I know they'd beat the Naruto verse as could the marvel verse.

I joined this nerd group of FB a while back. There would be these versus fights posts put up by the members and whenever Itachi/Madara/Sasuke show up on a team, They immediately start saying that the fight is a spite in favor of which ever Team the Uchihas are on.

I mean the idiot fanboys go as far as claiming that Sasuke would beat a team consisting of the Sparda Brothers (Dante and Vergil), Alucard and mfing Dracula!

They say that mainly cause when Beerus and Goku were crossing fists in Battle of the Gods, King Kai or someone else was saying that their mere punches were being felt across the universe.

Except, they also said it was a freak accident that happens only rarely. Since then, those "shock waves" weren't felt anymore and the Earth was still standing despite being at the epi-center of it all.

This is why I am having a hard time liking Dragonball Super and the like....it is way too inconsistent and the fans are ruining it by believing in things that are not true. Sure, it is  a great anime for action and a good enjoyable ride, but I cant take it seriously anymore.

Honestly, despite One Punch Man being a satire, I take that anime more serious than an anime that tries too hard to be serious and only ends up being too ridiculous even for it self.

This is why I hate these "Goku vs Superman" arguments now. They always want to say Goku wins because they think Superman is too ridiculous, but honestly, Superman is not about the powers, but rather about being that hero he needs to be.

To take this back to topic, Dragonball Super is suffering from what Naruto suffered from. It is too ridiculous, the powers are coming out of nowhere, and it is no longer remaining consistent to the point of breaking it's own rules. The only saving and satisfying grace is that Dragonball was always a little over the top, so I am more leniant towards Dragonball Super than I was Naruto.

Superman was meant to be the hero who always did the right thing and struggled with moral standings. This is why it is easy to say "Superman having unlimited power" is okay because it is not about power struggles.

Dragonball was always about breaking your limits and achieving higher peaks in your life. So, I am lenient to some over the top powers. However, not everything is okay because when you betray the initial idea of it, you begin to be ridiculous.

Naruto is all kinds of "missed and betrayed ideologies." And we know especially towards the end. When have a power up or stupid drama just betrayed the downright concept of Naruto...then it gets so ridiculous that I cant stand it.

And OPM make fun of all of this which is why it is probably the best.

To be far James Dragonball as always meant to be ridiculous and well out there I mean a talking piece of poo yeah that happened, true like all manga it has dark moments but toriyama has said that it not meant to be like Superman to which he is a big fan but as he said Goku is who he is, and toriyama likes to do gag manga just look at some of his other work like Dr slump its crazy and makes no kittening sense at all.

 

Not just dragonball some other shows make no sense, hell even I know Super is messed up I jst watch because I just love Pan and the family moments which Super does very well.

 

Oddly I will say this with toriyama he would have killed Hinata off why.

 

1 he hates the cute shy girls and likes tomboy like girls

2 if someone becomes far to popular like Hinata, I mean from what MasakoX said in his vid the editors had very little say, so say they told him or ordered him to do more with Hinata he would have killed and not made it pretty even if they showed him all the stuff from the west and how much they love her.

 

One thing with toriyama he is to the point and if the rabid fans get bashing Sakura over Hinata he would have killed Hinata in a very nasty way to make his point.

 

Hell if I was a writer that what I would do, it would be a message to the rabid fans who bash and when asked why I killed the girl off I would just say blame the fans they keep attack my main female for stuipd reason that any 12 year old would do while prasing a girl who did jack kitten to help. So I killed her off.

 

I would go on to say that this was not her story she was just a side character, and yet people thought she was more and I hated, I hated how they still hold on to a hate to a girl that made a mistake when she was 12 hell when I was that age I did kitten that any 12 year old does.

Agreed James agreed, I haven't watch super yet but I'll say it's better than naruto cause it's giving time to use the side characters more where naruto did none of that outside shikamaru, Garra and neji an Lee.
James anime and comics are ridiculous the ideas of these stories are ridiculous like linkara says about superhero comics.
I think alot of superman haters forgot his character and what it stands for they just look at the powers. To me superman is better than Goku and it's not because of childhood memories of both but in their characters.
Naruto is a walking plot hole and contradiction of morals. The powers where dumb expect Sakuras seal cause that had more build up to it since we knew she'd get from training with tsunade what's naruto and sasuke's excuse mainly sasuke.

Yes that is right and why toriyaman is a better writerthan kishi.
The stuff in super with the families is great and makes you hate naruto more on how they kittened up.
Oh I wish toriyama wrote naruto and did that. If I was a writer I'd do the same thing as you said in post to kill off a character as a warning to the fans, cause in my head my story, my rules if you don't like tough. NH is full of immature brats who have to get their way.

Do you see this kinda stuff happening with Boruto with his parents, or with Sarada and her parents..? NO No and No you don't. This right here is geniune storytelling and great characterization.. not to mention the ending of this issue made me go like "OH HELL NO IT'S COMING BACK!!" unlike the latest Boruto Chapter were I was like "meh" that's the thing this latest issue like the other issue continues to be engaging which like many of us have stated the Boruto series has been severely lacking.
