Rin reminds me a lot of Lyanna Stark ya know. If you've seen GoT, she was torn between two men and died and that catalysed the big war..
I'm just. kinda tired of the whole trope, using simply the memory of a dead woman to provoke bloody vengeances.
Namaenash are you from Japan?
No, I'm not from Japan. Though I used to live there for my bachelor degree and master degree, before I flew elsewhere. In recent years, I typically visit Japan at least once in every two years, depending on my work schedule.
It's still a Japanese animation studio done by Japanese. While I don't think they're represent japan to say they're not (part of) japan is wrong. Anyway if japan want NS, then sakura would be number one in polling poll undisputed like nami from op.
I suppose, my original intent was to point out that when it comes to people who are willing to spend money, typically they won't advertise NH or SS; much like in the past (even before the ending). It's either Naruto & Sasuke or Team 7. Not necessarily NS, although we now know that NS was probably the one financing the series all along. Again, if you talk about statistics, the basic rule is: correlation does not imply causation.
Based on the facts, you cannot make a statement: "with NH/SS, the manga sales went up by 10% or X%", because that's not the case. It's the other way around. In fact, if you tally up the numbers, these two fandom combined, results in a mere less than 20% of the overall historical sales, if you compare against Boruto sales (a product of NH/SS). Google out "pareto principle", and you see how it plays in this whole event.
You can make a statement like this though: "without NS, the manga sales dropped by ~80%". Heck, you can probably make an inductive reasoning if you're up to it. haha... In simple English, it means that the statement is not necessarily true, but it's also not incorrect.
While we're at it, let's bring out some numbers out for Japanese manga sales of this series (google out in the internet to get the source):
Stats as at April 2015 for Recent Naruto Manga Sales in Japan:
2009 - 6,836,494 copies
2010 - 7,409,068 copies
2011 - 6,874,840 copies
2012 - 6,495,240 copies
2013 - 5,553,933 copies
2014 - Naruto series was not in the top 5 best selling manga series (we all know what happened that year)...
There's easily 4-5 volumes in each year, but in general, you compare your manga performance YoY (year-over-year). After all, that's how mostly companies do their accounting, so, it's a pretty natural method of evaluating two or more sales measure, so we can compare the results at one time period with those of a comparable time period on an annualized basis.
Now compare the above numbers with the current Boruto manga sales. Albeit it's only volume 1, try to see its trends (from volume 1 to the next volumes, which, by the way, trending down). You'll come up with the same conclusion as I did.
