The problem a bunch of big fights have is that there is really no point to having a fight, no longer how long or flashy it is, unless the fight itself has feeling in, and meaning to it.
This right here is probably the BIGGEST problem I have with reviewers reviewing Boruto the movie. They give the movie high grades due to the animation and fight scenes, but without true meaning behind the fights they are pointless no matter how flashy or big they are.
I don't get how everyone can see this and say "Well, it can be Micheal Bay-ized all you want with the fights, but that doesn't mean it makes it a good anime or movie" while watching Bleach or Attack on Titan or any other anime that has these high adrenaline actions scenes, but when it comes to Boruto they are completely oblivious to the fact that all these fights scenes are either entirely pointless or have no merit to them whatsoever and praise the movie because "it looked good." After all the big and flashiness in Naruto at the end that was ridiculous and over the top, why does Boruto get a pass? A lot of other good ones don't. Heck, I have seen people criticize One Punch Man for "too big and pointless fight scenes," but give Boruto a pass....and this coming from some people who are massive Dragonball Z fans which that series became nothing more than big flashy fight scenes.
