Well, I admit that there are a lot of crappy stories on fanfiction.net. This goes not for just narusaku, but for all pairings. Everyone can submit their stories there, so the people who can hardly speak english post them as well. This causes a lot of stories with bad grammar and such.
And some of the stories are badly written, because everyone has to start at some point and not everyone is a good writer from the start. (I say this, because I don't think that my stories are that good, so I want feedback as well) They need feedback, so that they can do better next time.

And yes, I don't really like the crossovers as well, especially if they don't make sense (naruto x pokemon, naruto x transformers)

The better stories are hard to find sometimes yeah, but we have the narusaku fic listing and such for the people who don't want to go through the trouble of finding the well written fics.

Haven't read any new fanfiction in Forever! I'll only read one if somebody recommends it or something. But you have to admit that most of the stories are written by like middle schoolers or something and the NaruSaku filter is like only 90 pages now I think? Can you imagine the NH and SS filters that have over 300 pages! How much crap you'd have to go throw just to get a decent story!

And I got to say the crossovers are getting really repetitive and boring. I think the Inyusha, Harry Potter, and Bleach ones have been beaten to death already! That's why I'm trying something different with a Naruto x Gundam Wing crossover

I don't know but I guess it's hard to stay original these days when almost everything has been done or tried

Yeah there's been alot of crappy NS stories lately and the ones that arent so crappy arent being updated. You can check my C2: Heaven & Earth just go under pennames and you'll find my Hopestar then click c2 communties and there you go the best NS fics I've found. My favorite is Broken Promise by Neosincerity too bad she hasnt post since august and Sakura Shipudden by Choazu. I wonder why he hasnt post new chapter on the sequel yet.

We should combine our flames of youth ZJ! Two Patmen might be too much for any author to handle. I guess I'm not 'flaming' as much as I give really negative reviews for those who deserve it, but I'm not afraid to add some extra fire if I feel its needed. I have been the direct cause of the loss of four authors on ff.net (that I know of.. #4 clocked in two days ago) after a particularly rotten review, and I have yet to feel regret.

But I agree with all my heart. The stories posted on ff.net are well over 50% crap, yet some times there are some hidden gems that manages to sneak past the bad ones almost unnoticed, and some of them might be overlooked because the summary is... well, utter crap. But the least we can ask for is a sensible plot and some effort put into the fic to make it as good as possible. I'm sick of authors posting stories in all bold letters yet seem to forget capital letters, punctuation and spelling. How hard can it be to spell Konoha right after all these years? I still see Kohana at least 1 out of 5 fics, plus Tsunande and Jariaiya who are two of the sennin... gah, please learn the japanese words and names if you have to use them.

I mean kyuubi or not, if he was lynched like every 5 minutes by a blood thirsty pitch fork and torches wielding mob, he wouldn't have made it to age 1, let alone 12.

I can't tell you how irritating it is to read a story that has, Naruto getting beat up when he was a kid. Have his apartment vandalized constantly, some stories have him getting sexually abused too. And I think to myself, "Am I reading the same Manga the rest of them are?"

Ah, I read something very similar to that. I read a significant amount of it because it was well written, but the abuse got way out of hand. I forget what the title was.

All I remember about the author was that he was a Sakura hater.

The type of fanfics that I hate the most are the ones where:

1. Naruto turn into Sasuke type, AKA DarkNaruto. ok, lets make this straight. Naruto is NOT Sasuke and will never become him, thats for sure. Naruto can be serious, we have seen that much but to be a cold bastard is a big no no.

What makes me bitter about it is that most fics make Sakura in love with him AFTER He change the attitude, what does that mean to you? To me it means that they make Sakura still in love with Sasuke except that they change the name from Sasuke to Naruto. If they want to make a Naruto fanfiction where Sakura fall in love with a Naruto-turned-Sasuke, GO MAKE A SASUSAKU FIC AND LEAVE THE NARUSAKU LOVERS ALONE!!

2. Sakura being a B!tch to Naruto even after the timeskip. Ok, are we even reading the same manga here? Are they blind not to see that Sakura has become NICER to Naruto after the timeskip?

Sakura was a b!tch that much is true BEFORE the timeskip, people change with time as they approach adulthood and as we all see, Sakura change for the better. True she still beat him up to the ground but its for good reason like Naruto being a pervert etc. while before time skip she does it to impress Sasuke. See the difference here?

3. Naruto/Self insert fanfics. Ok, maybe this is just me but I truly despise them. You are NOT in the manga, live with it! if you wanna date Naruto or whoever character you want from the manga, go buy their life size plushie and date them. Self insert just to pair yourself with the character is pathetic, it only show that you live in a dream and that don't have a relationship and prob never will.

4. Epic stories in 4 chapters consist of less than 1k words each. Don't mistake it as Drabble, I'm taking about multichapter story with long storyline that squished into short paragraphs that mostly consist of flash forward jumps from 1 event to another in less than 300 words. Are they even want to write? if you want to write a story, put some effort on it.

5. Extremely Sappy stories. Naruto is a shounen and action manga/story, not shoujo and romance but it seems some people can't accept it and instead create fanfics that can give Icha Icha Paradise a run for their money just with the fluffyness. I like fluff, but to have Naruto and Sakura going out right after meeting post time skip? The author need a lesson in romance.

Well, melisa, Sappy stories should be expected becoz at the rate this manga is going, romance ain't gonna happen, and becoz it's a shounen manga, so many of those fluff-loving people would let their imagination roam etc.

I agree with the super short multi-story chaps.

I cannot believe how little they say in each chapter and think they can just link it with the next! It's outrageous!

What? Melisa, Sakura NEVER beat Naruto for impressing Sasuke. Never. She beat him after the timeskip for the same reasons she beat him before the timeskip. The SIX times she has hit him on the manga (and the last time happened nearly one hundred chapters ago) she has done it because he was being stupid or pervert. And she never went out of her way for pummeling him, insulting him or abusing him, not matter what many fanfiction authors would get us believing.

heck i kinda didn't like the whole part in the forest of death right after he woke up, he got insult like 3 times cause he was past out? sheesh and here shika and choji were supose to be closer to him than the rest? eh oh well at least he shines later lol

I'm starting to see a strange tendency in Naruto fanfics where the author never really writes Naruto's character. He's either ALOT dumber than the canon character and only learns how to get stronger by chance, or he's God's gift to women... in some fics, this is actually the case. I mean, Kami made Naruto her (Kami is always female in harem fics, even if she doesn't get with him) vassal or something and he must kill all the truely evil people (Itachi and Orochimaru) for her. Why can't they just go with the bright and happy lad from the manga? Does it make them feel better if they write Naruto dumber? I don't get it.

And there's one more thing; Originality. All the real good plottwists used in fics now is copied from somewhere. The ones who actually thinks outside the box writes great fics (Pudgypudge is one of my favs these days), but if you have to banish Naruto you should be able to find another reason than "Naruto brings back Sasuke with a broken pinky. Sakura and the council throws a hissyfit resulting in Naruto's banishment" or "Naruto used Kyuubi's chakra, which has to mean that he's evil. I R council!! I R so smart!"
The council is always abused. I might have done something like that myself, but I can and will change that.
