@ Kagomaru: Yeah I know I made a big deal out of that but it's mainly because I fear SP is doing a negative bias to Noelle like they did with Sakura. Remember how they used to draw Sakura plainer and flatter than she actually was, and drew Hinata to look like (in their minds) a super model? Yeah I was mainly worried about that. But I partly want Noelle to be as pretty in this anime as she is in the manga, as she's one of my favourites afterall (and Asta's future waifu,that too)

There's an article that the Editor-in-chief wants Black Clover to be the next Naruto. I'll find it when I return home. How discouraging. Worst manga of 2016 returns full fledge with that line alone.

Unless Tabata magically starts repeating Kishimoto's narrative mistakes(doubt it since he's actually proven that he can competently write female heroines, realistic relationships, writes characterization so well that even the minor characters are interesting, and shown in interviews that he actually has a spine), I take that statement for what it is: They want Black Clover to fill the void of Naruto.  It also sends the message that people have been saying for months; Boruto is failing hard and will probably be ousted from Jump in the near future.

 

Of course, Black Clover isn't generating the same amount of money that Naruto did at its peak either, though it is still doing well for itself and certainly better than Boruto.

 

So, a statement like that isn't going to scare me off unless I start seeing actual degradation in the series' writing.

So I was completely right. Well that means they will try pushing it internationally once out of the gate in hopes that it will hit the same audience that Naruto did. Also more proof everyone know what a kitten-show Boruto is; since "why should Black Clover be the next Naruto? When they have a manga about the son of Naruto?"

I was expecting this as well, I just wasn't expecting Shueisha to be blatantly forthright about it as the article illustrated.  I mean, just look at the animation standard that's being set for Black Clover (and I say standard because the teaser trailer also shows us scenes for later arcs such as the Dungeon and Witch Coven arcs) and compare it to Naruto/Boruto's.  SP are clearly putting more effort, money and talent into the production of  Black Clover's anime than they are into Boruto. Hell, more than they did with Naruto outside of the movies and OVAs.

 

Like I said, I'm not too worried about SP screwing this up because if they do, they won't get another chance and they understand that fully.  They failed to animate Bleach's last few arcs, they screwed up Tokyo Ghoul and Twin Star Exorcist, and even the fanatical remnants of the Naruto fandom are barely keeping them aloft with Boruto after pissing off the majority of Japanese and Western fandom with their otaku kitten.  If they pull the kind of kitten as they did with the aforementioned, Shueisha may start looking to other viable studios to properly adapt their battle-shonen titles.

Yeah that's true. I feel better after hearing your comments I just don't want Black Clover ruined  because it is now one of my top favourites, and with what SP did to Naruto I am skeptical of their "intentions", but thinking about it they can't afford another kitten up lest they become bankrupt, So I will hope  the best with the Black Clover anime but if i see the SLIGHTEST bit of BS like with Naruto, I'm not watching anymore and will strictly stick to the manga  As in like making Mimosa more important than she actually is and teasing her more with Asta in scenes that were never there in the manga, and kittening on Noelle's actually personality by exaggerating her tsundere traits. Stuff like that

The problem is they can't afford to, because it is so similar to Naruto. Shueisha is expecting this to be something SP can handle. If they can't it; then Shueisha is going to be looking over their relationship, and at best they won't be given anymore shounen action series for a while. Also the one major saving grace is their is no girl that they can drool over that they can make their focus in the anime. Yes Nana has the drunk girl but to be honest anytime I heard she gotten a new role since Naruto ended it not been a moe. I have a theory that she wants to avoid doing those roles so she can't steal the spotlight again and get blame for ruining another series like she is with Toriko and Naruto. Also they may have left their Hinata obsessed people in Boruto and made sure that the people brought on well adapt Black Clover properly so they don't destroy it because some jack ass likes the cousin more then Noelle.

Ah good then.   Anyway I will try not to let SP ruin my enjoyment of the series that's just my hatred and cynicism, but again it is not pointed to Nana Mizuki, only the sleaze balls in the company that were VERY unprofessional
