Oh man, what a taxing episode. It was amazing. This series is sooo beautiful I just I CAN'T.

Amazing character development for multiple characters in this episode. And WOW GENERAL IROH I freaked out. I love Dante Basco's voice and just relived his role as Zuko when Iroh popped up. GEEZE I love him and he's had like two lines. HELP

Asami you are so awesome, I can't wait until all this drama blows over, and you can just focus on being the amazingly awesome character you are. AND Bolin - he never fails to make me smile.

And LIN. Oh my gosh how do I even put into words what I felt today. Sierra (KoolKat) was next to me on the couch crying and BLAH I guess that just sums up how we felt about that. She is so amazing. What a sacrifice...I am so so upset for her. She knows how important those airbabies are. But now, are there ANY metalbenders left? I mean, what's going to happen to Toph's legacy?

I can't even imagine what next weeks season finale will be like....

1. Going into labor as soon as the attack starts… Really? REALLY? That’s just incredibly cheap.
2. She gave birth and is fine… after a few freaking minutes?
3. Zuko’s exact voice for another character in this series… *facepalm* Why? Just…why?

Ok, now. Unrelated to complaints about overall quality of the episode: Lin is awesome. The airbabies are awesome. Asami is awesome. And Mako is a total ass.

1. I suppose most of the viewers brain shut down when the baby showed up to be able to think that.
2. Yeah, that doesn't make much sense, she is supposed to be exausted at this point.
3. Well, now, that depends on each person taste. What bothered me is how Iroh looks like an guy in the middle of his 30 or something, and he sounds like an 14 teenage boy. Come on Bryke, this guy deserves an manly voice!

So I'm kindof a lurking member of this fandom and I'm not here to argue, but:

This entire episode was absolutely amazing. I know Mako gets a lot of hate, and it's honestly quite ridiculous. Dude is a TEENAGER. He's allowed to be confused about his feels and make cruddy decisions because of it. Am I the only one that was not expecting him to play the responsible adult when confronted about those bad decisions?

Because apparently, everyone else was. :l What, fandom?

Mako aside, THIS EPISODE WAS FANTASTIC. That scene with Lin and the MUSIC and the slow-mo and D: IF I COULD CRY, I WOULD. And just- Everything. I can't even go into it because I know others will do it for melolhaiKriski.

I mean, I just-- I have too many feels for this. Everyone got to be badass here. Can't we all just focus that, and, uh, the plot? ♥

Uguuu I still can't get over the massive crapload amount of feels I drowned in this morning- IT WAS AWFUL. Quality of character development on this show just went up imo.

Agreed with bolded, but it didn't go up by very much. Lin was much further developed, and I loved that, but other characters are still incredibly one-dimensional (*cough* Mako, for example *cough*).

The show did pick up here, that's for sure. But there was one huge gripe I had with the episode that felt...rushed and cliche. I did mention it in my previous post, but in case some didn't read my earlier post:

Tenzin's wife suddenly going into labor just as the attack started. It was such a terrible, cheap way to build "tension" that it just took away tension in the end.

But, back on point, overall, yes, character development quality did increase in this episode, but not by too much.

But back on topic,
I'm honestly not as offended by Dante Bascos voice on this character as most people. It's like a homage to the original series, and he is a descendent of Zuko in some way(it hasn't been revealed yet, but my guess is grandson.). People are always telling me how I have the exact same voice as my mom and often confuse me with her on the phone. So it's not unlikely that they would sound the same.

Well, I don't really feel like debating anything atm (I'm reading Fairy Tail and have all the feels, so excuse me XD), so I'll just have to say that I disagree and I feel it went up by more than just "a little". And we're allowed to judge him for it, because whether or not he's a teenager, fact is he's acted like an ass so far.

The feelings you felt...ok, I can understand that. I guess I just am able to criticize the show more because, to be honest, I haven't felt much emotional attachment to what's been going on lately, which I seem to be in the very few who haven't.

And that's the beauty of any and all characters isn't it? Having flaws, whether they be major or minor, builds characters. Mary Sue's and Gary Stu's don't build tension and don't have peaks of character development- people with flaws do. I admit, I was irritated with Mako's indecisiveness and other flaws etc, and I too at one point said he acted like an "ass". However, I realized what I said above. Anyone can judge someone by their shortcomings and flaws, but understanding the meaning of those flaws and shortcomings is really what makes all the difference and is what will (hopefully, if done right) eventually bring out something better in the character. Sometimes it doesn't always end up like this, but it's still only the first season of this show. (And like Yoko said- he's a teenager. LOL.)

Seeing Tenzin's kids fight was a genuine surprise and very cool to see. You can see why Lin did what she did and it was very brave of her and as a result, it made me legit sad to see her lose her bending. That REALLY kittening sucked to see.


Side note, I am with Yoko on the Mako thing. He is a teenager, teenage love is fickle. Not that it outright excuses him for everything, but its nothing to get too upset about.
