They would not be a secret couple, just the trailer wouldn't show them as a couple to troll NHers.
 
Their being a couple makes more sense to me than Naruto not progressing his love life for 2 years...

This. It doesn't make sense that after all these years Naruto never got Sakura and is suddenly falling in love with Hinata just like that in a movie. NS has had a very slow build up since Sasuke left and even a b it before that. It developed into best friends bordering relationship status. To see all of that development shattered by some blank eyed obsessed stalker I would be utterly disgusted and disappointed.

The big question is WHY Naruto hasn't confessed yet? I don't think Naruto and Sakura will be a couple in the movie right off the bat. And honestly, Kishi won't make Naruto's confession off screen or completely skip it. It's either Naruto AND Sakura are already a couple and SP are holding out on it, Naruto gave Sakura time to get over Sasuke( That's if her confession was platonic) or he was afraid of being rejected.

He hasn't confessed yet because he believes that Sakura still loves Sasuke and he also hasn't fulfilled his promise. So in another way he also knows he will get rejected if Sakura still loves Sasuke. But as much as I hate the idea of Naruto confessing, kishi will make Naruto confess to Sakura i.e. if NS is going to happen, in the movie. I don't think it will happen in the manga at all.

It won't be shattered due to Hinata but due to Sakura failing to let go her feelings for Sasuke. We all know Naruto won't move on until Sakura shows him the hand or Sakura gets together with someone, and unfortunately due to this Naruto keeps on suffering.

Still doesn't compute. It was no secret that Naruto knew Sasuke loved Sasuke YET he still asked her on dates when they were younger and older. Obito still loved Rin even though she loved Kakashi and he loved her even in afterlife. Jiraiya still loved Tsunade even though she loved Dan. Naruto has always known she loved Sasuke and I doubt that would stop him from confessing.

Sakura now is a different story. All through out the manga it has been hinted that she has feelings for Naruto despite her loving Sasuke. That is a sign that her heart is changing. Of course you will say that Sakura hurt Naruto but he KNEW what he was getting in when he chose to love Sakura. While Naruto and Hinata have barely interacted enough to actually get into some sort of drama.

I firmly believe NS will be canon.

I like this video. Granted I don't agree with a lot of what he says about NaruSaku but he's very reasonable. Especially regarding NH and the poor development of pretty much all the pairings.

As he said, Naruto and Hinata interactions are just three moments in entire manga (699 chapters)

The past of the series has been denying all claims that we read it wrong when really, that's how everyone sees it. General fans would think the same. Two years ago you had Asian Kung-Fu Generation looking forward Naruto and Sakura getting together in the series. It's like Kishi decides to go betting booth and put all on NH, because no one would see it coming, which is the problem there, no one sees it coming. Because it really don't add up. It really don't.

Kishi, you should know how Mass Effect 3 went down. As much as I want to say I love the game, I can't say it. Why? The ending ruined a lot. If we go by point range, 1-10, you will lose 2 automatically. The reason why I brought it up is because the fans from that series can't trust the company the same as before because all they think is "It's going to happen again..." With that mentality, you could lose fans and maybe, the next work won't be as successful. It happens to many people. You can't never do another first impression.

Anyway, I should think on the next question to ask.

No. The only thing that's holding Naruto back from confessing is his POAL, not Sakura's feelings towards Sasuke.

I think Mr.T isn't aware of his actions on FB with Naruto fans following him. He just does these actions by being careless what they could cause...

I think the scene of Sakura encouraging is telling. We know she doesn't like the idea of Naruto and Hinata together. Hinata looks sad despite blushing. I can't see Sakura pushing her towards Naruto. Of course she'd be fine with gift giving, it's the holidays and all that, plus Naruto has never had eyes for anyone else in 700 chapters, despite Hinata being very obvious that she likes him and actually confessing her love. The manga would have reflected this change a long time ago if NH were going to be endgame since the movie was announced in/had to be in production since 2012.

Suffice to say, that scene is suspect. What's also suspect is the narrator in the first trailer, Yamato quote - seriously that one is from chapter 297! - and the fact Sakura is the only one given civilian clothes in sketches and is juxtaposed with Naruto in almost every promotional artwork.

SP technically wouldn't have been lying about anything if it turns out Naruto and Sakura are already together and Hinata is merely getting closure. They may have given that impression, but fans and news outlets jumped to such conclusions just like they did with previous films.
