Who cares about that? The other fandom should learn their lesson from Avatar because I see NH and SS taking the Zutara road and till this day they're still angry fans ranting that their pairing should have happened. The creators of the show went with their own ideas and opinions to how the story should go and the pairing that they have chosen to developed, they didn't submitted to the fans. Kishi is doing the same thing he's only following his story, his manga he's not going to go with the demands of the other fandom just because there are more fans of a pairing than the other.

Hinata dying won't make an advance or anything in the plot. She has no business. One of the K11 is already dead, and that's enough for Kishi and the readers.

Aside from the pairing stuff the manga for now is in serious mode due to jubbito and Madara, basically jubbito is going to steamroll for a bit until a weakness or madaras backup comes into play. But for those who said hinata dying, i doubt that would happen since neji was lost, but if it did, well then nothing left stopping ns, either way some fans would be pissed off at killing hinata, but at this point there wouldn't be a purpose for it.

With regards to Sakura, as other have mentioned she gets her initial negative impression from part 1, her general attitude, her Sasuke fan-girling and her treatment of Naruto and before someone busts out the Tsundere argument bare with me a bit. In part 1 all her dere was for Sasuke  Naruto really didn't get any of it so that's sort of out, she flat out didn't like him for a while due to pranks etc. and her displeasure manifested as physical violence (For comedic sake I get it, I watch more anime than I care to admit). However when you are a fan of the main character its hard to see him get snubbed by his main love interest in favor of the brooding jerk. So there we have the general impression of part 1 and why people might hold Sakura in a negative light

 

Onto Part 2:

 

So in part 2 we start seeing Sakura as an ACTUAL Tsundere she shows both a sweet side and a violent disapproving side to Naruto (Less of this side in part 2 as many have pointed out). So the reader begins to get the notion that hey Sakura is coming around finally she is starting to see this amazing Naruto that the audience has been seeing all along.

 

NS starts picking up momentum and people start warming up to the Canon pairing then comes the Murder attempt and Sakura still loves Sasuke ok....people can live with that she is confused she is obviously showing something towards Naruto so people wait it out and then comes the confession, a confession that was both painful to watch and read both times, because you knew it wasn't really genuine ( for the love of god stop reaching for your Kishi quote I know your mind jumped to it instantly) His answer to that question is intentionally vague it was not a rock solid confirmation stating that yes Sakura meant her confession and yes she loves Naruto. If you were warming up to the pairing or always supported it that confession scene was like a spear to the heart. Directly following that sordid affair we have murder attempt number 2......and she..still loves...Sasuke. She is in such anguish over him STILL and once again if you are a fan of the Naruto then watching him push onward being this great person only to see his love never be enough to fill the void that Sasuke left in Sakura's heart you just cant help but look at her crossly. 540 just made it worse because its just another reminder ( as if more were needed   ) That Sakura still harbors an angsty love for Sasuke.

 

In any case that's just my two cents on why Sakura gets so much flak, and when you have that many chapters of questionable actions its hard to just let it go even when now when she seems to finally be getting better as an all around character (we hope)

This is what I thought as well and you explained it nicely. It's also the same logic as to why NaruHina fans are bashing Naruto.

 

In the end, I just hope that we could see past the pairings and judge the characters for what they really are and not who they love. Naruto is a main character, whose character isn't determined by who he loves, it's his never giving up attitude and strength that makes his character. Although unfortunately for Hinata-centric NH fans this is very hard to grasp. Every Naruto and Hinata interaction will be twisted into a romantic one. And Naruto not returning Hinata's feelings after all she's done for him is bashing worthy. Same could be said for Sakura. Her major role is to support the hero(doesn't necessarily mean romantically) and to develop into a kunoichi who can surpass her master but unfortunately for Naruto-centric NS fans this is very hard to grasp. Every Sakura-Naruto moment, or Sakura-Sasuke moment gets twisted into a romantic one (remember the rage of NS fans when Sakura just called Sasuke's name). 

 

Us NS and NH are a lot more similar than we think and it's also one of the reasons I feel quite sympathetic towards them. So we do have to think twice before we try to call them out

Im just starting to see some cynicalness some of few ns in this forum,but i understand the point your making.

 

And thats why part of my bitterness in the manga i had for awhile is starting come up again.

I  think they want Hinata to be a parallel of RIn (since that fan art it awfully looks a lot to when Kakashi stabbed Rin with chidori). I guess they want Obito/Rin pairing to be a parallel to NH I guess its the only thing the fandom can do since 631 was a powerful blow to their fanbase.

What kishimoto said about sakura in his interview does clesr things up that she was being honest during her confession with a surprisingly stubborn determination. Sakura wasnt lying to naruto about her love for him and the reasons, she just hid the painful truth about sasuke to spare him the pain, which naruto came to realize later on, and possibly accept her confession since he said that sakura is his girlfriend more or less, and to be exact with translation provuded by megi, it ended with "datte" which meant he probably was reffering to the confession. So no, sakura wasnt not being genuine to him. She said she wouldnt make another mistake so wouldnt lying to naruto be a big mistake.

But its flawed right there, 1. Kishi already killed one Hyuga, it wouldn't make sense to do it again. 2. Hinata dying would not be enough to signal NH, I mean a fatal blow is a fatal blow, even as experienced as Sakura and Tsunade are, there are things they cannot heal.  3. In fact regarding 2, a dead Hinata makes NH ended right there, unless she was rinne tenseied. 4. Hinata is widely unrelated to Rin just due to the fact Rin herself was both a medical ninja and had the same mentality Sakura used to towards her teammates but she ended up facing a bad fate for it. At this point, the Sakura-Rin parallel may be close, it occured already with Kushina which upset many, if Rin comes along but either a character or kishi himself demonstrates this by design, they well you get the idea. I mean there have been times in the manga when one character speaks of others they may have never even met or know of, like when Kabuto was in sage mode and told Itachi all the powers he accumulated, including the uzumaki clan abilities, he mentions Karin but you also see Nagato and Kushina, obviously he knew of Nagato for being an uzumaki but we are never sure if he knew of Kushina or not. At that time, it could have been Kishi showing the reader these 3 were from the uzumaki clan. Karin and Nagato were speculated to be part of the clan once Kushina mentioned it and then they were revealed to be descended from it.

You know what? I don't get why people kitten about Sakura's confession. If they would have followed the manga, all that she said, it's true. FUnny how today I even made an edit where I tried to parallel her words with actual manga moments.

She was next to him, he made her feel safe and all those things...

I can't keep wondering why the denial, really.

I always felt there was some truth in her words when it came to her confession. Hell, that whole bit in your post can be seen throughout the manga as you've shown here. Its just that she does love Sasuke and she does care about him. Its just a mixture of both the truth and a lie. Nice post Chatte. ;-)

This is the same point that every one of these discussions lead to, the quote says he was trying to depict an honest girl not that she was in fact being honest about her confession, it would have been easy enough for him to say that if that is what he meant. Since he didn't we are left with speculation that hinges on opinion based observations. That being said any way you slice it, the confession doesn't help Sakura's case any, because if you believe she was being sincere then that means she gave a heartfelt confession to the person she loves ( which if anime  culture is to be believed is a huge deal ) While still being painfully in love with Sasuke, which does lower the credibility of the confession in terms of it being true.

 

Secondly if you believe she wasn't being being sincere then she comes out looking like a calculating manipulator who used Narutos loves as a means to an end. Even if that end was releasing Naruto of his promise by attempting to kill Sasuke it still doesn't make the confession itself any better.

 

Personally I think that the truth is somewhere in between, I think she wanted to believe that she was over Sasuke and in love with Naruto. The related scenes give the impression that she is trying to convince herself of all the reasons she should love him and not Sasuke, More of a confession from the head rather than from the heart is how I always saw it. Which is not to say she doesn't love him, I think she does and that her lingering feeling for Sasuke continue to get in the way I just don't think the confession is the outcome of her love for Naruto, rather it definitely seemed motivated by other things entirely.

Amazing Chatte  the way you organized those pictures reflect Sakura's words perfectly. The problem is the fandom see her words from her cofnession as" because Sasuke was never here and now that the village respects you as a hero I'm in love with you now". They see it that if Sasuke has never left Konoha she would have never fallen in love with Naruto in the first place, which I see it as completely wrong because since part 1 she already had subconscious feelings for him. If Sasuke never left it would have taken way longer for her to realize her feelings for Naruto. She already started becoming fond of him since she decided to be nice to him in ch 3.

I'm starting to think that her confession is true yet at the same time, I think she's unaware of her saying. I think she said deep down from her heart, yet perhaps not noticing that she was pure genuine when saying it. It feels like if we had Karin in there, she would have tell us if she's lying or not. It could have been a moment where you play a card as in one character noticed that all of it was true. Like in Avatar, Jet was in critical condition, yet he said he'll be fine. Toph then said he's lying, indicating his life is at its end. So basically, we need a person who can read to tell us if she told the truth or not.

The real lie begins with nothing wrong, let's go home part because Sasuke is now everyone's target but she didn't tell him. That and forget Sasuke altogether. Love him or not, he is Team 7 and she cares. So perhaps Kishi wasn't lying about the confession being the true. The real lie could in fact be the part of forgetting Sasuke as in nothing will happen, when in fact that everyone will find him and kill him. That's my take for now.
