Do I get one as well for saying this: Superman is one of the worst characters ever created. :D :D :P :P

At least in the movies, the cartoons and the tv shows. Especially in Smallville. God I hated that portrayal of Superman.

prime example, read comics if you want to know about Superman and all that he does. I remember you saying that you hated Superman. But before I get into it, why do you hate Superman soo much anyways?

I didn't say I hate Superman. I said I hated that portrayal of him. More precisely Smallville's version. And the reason is, well reasons actually but let's keep it short, the reason because he's a moron.

And I guess that's a no, on the let it slide?

Which I've told you - time and time again - is dangerous! There will never be consensus, son, among those you have helped to ascend. They will all differ in their views of what it means to be free. The peace you so desperately seek does not exist.

These men are united now by a common cause. But when this battle is finished they will fall to fighting amongst themselves about how best to ensure control. In time it will lead to war. You will see.

in a story a hero is only as interesting as its villain.. in Naruto's case you could say it's Obito since he did so much pain in Naruto's life since he was born and while he did somewhat have a tragic backstory, but his motives weren't necessarily special.. of course Kishi could've done so much better.. then again the second half of Part 2 speaks for its self.

As much I like Obito's character I will say that there is another villain who I believe supersedes not just Obito, but every villain in Naruto.. who? Zeref from Fairy Tail is the probably a clear example of how a villain should be handled. He's got so many layers that make him such an interesting yet complex villain and I can easily say his connection to Natsu adds more to him and Natsu himself as characters especially a particular plot point which is heavy for spoilers just incase some peeps haven't read it or seen it.

I assume because of the emoji you are only joking or just teasing superman fans here. Anyway I find him a lot more interesting than Goku who just seems to get more bland as time goes on and just keeps getting a new form to be honest.

I'm teasing and being honest at the same time XD

It's on the kind of character and the plot. Not their strength.

As far as what I've seen of Superman in the movies and the cartoons, his portrayal is dull. Part of it is because he has a straight face and serious most of the times, and we see him the majority of the time doing stuff that show his strength only. Another part is because I think they want him to remain that way for the audience that are serious in their character.

The difference between Superman and Goku is that Goku is more lively, funny and fun. This difference makes the characters different in the appealing terms by the audience perception.

Thus, it depends on the perception of the person. But, the truth is Goku's kind of character is vivid. Superman's character lacks of excitement.

The difference in the plot in terms of adventure is significant.

Plus, many like to see variety of martial arts performed, other characters that are interesting to follow on what they'll do next in battle and characters introduced that have new type of battle skills at least somewhat frequently in a story.

This is my perception of Superman with his plot. I never thought on comparing both of them, but I find it interesting to do so. It all comes down to perception, how much the person has followed the story of a said character and is attached to that said character.

Agreed zeref is a great villain you actually feel sorry for him. Obito I just hate like all uchiha expect mikoto, itachi, shisui. Or you can go the acnologia route and have one that just wants to destroy everything like kefka.

Cool the one true superman.

I liked Brandon Routh's Superman as well. People say they don't really like him, but I think he did really good considering that Superman Returns picked up where Superman II left off.

Ya I heard it retcons 3&4 which is a good retcon. What the original one or the Richard donner cut? Cause that ends different. I liked his portrayal too but the story gave him nothing to work with Henry cavill does to good but no one can fill Reeves shoes with superman like Peter Weller is Robocop and Robert englund is Freddy.

Did his personality have been more than what we usually see and did his plot have been more varied from other than the glorious stern action he battles through, or still the same like in other media he's featured ?

Yeah you did. I remember you saying yu hated him and even tried to argue that Batman beat him in the comic books when that never happened. But yeah. Everybody gets one.

Because he started out a moron, he continued to be a moron throughout the length of the show and he ended up a moron. Clark as a character had absolutely no development whatsoever in that show. 10 seasons of absolutely no character development. Yes, he learned to control his abilities (And Oh my God it took him 10 years to learn to fly and to want to fly; he kept making excuses), but he learned nothing else. He did mistake after mistake and learned nothing and continued to do mistakes. Plus he was a hypocrite.

I have no problem to have a story in which in the beginning he or she is naive and gullible and prone to making mistakes, as long as you develop that character. Show that he or she can actually evolve. Not remain stagnant.

Did his personality have been more than what we usually see and did his plot have been more varied from other than the glorious stern action he battles through, or still the same like in other media he's featured ?

Yeah, his personality is way different in the comics than just being stern. He also knows when to have fun, he cracks jokes, has a sense of humor, he can be cocky at times, but he is selfless, even if he doesn't have his powers, he's not self righteous and doesn't mind giving the credit to someone else. His personality can't really be expanded in a Movie or the cartoon. In the comics, his personality is what it needs to be for the situation.

I have no problem to have a story in which in the beginning he or she is naive and gullible and prone to making mistakes, as long as you develop that character. Show that he or she can actually evolve. Not remain stagnant.

He was a young and upcoming Clark Kent, he wanted to be normal just like everybody else, but I didn't see anything in the beginning of the series that would classify him as being a moron. As a matter of fact, I didn't see anything at all that would classify him as a moron.  How exactly did he start up as a moron. Can you specify that for me? Clark as a character had no development? He went from thinking about only his personal feelings at times to learning how to become more selfless and even sacrificing his dreams just to protect others like his family just for example. He went from being naive in situations(Like finally realizing that Lex is evil and isn't who he tries to be even though he refused to believe it at first and even leaving Lana after he realized that she wasn't the one for him.) to being more vigilant in certain situations.  He was far from a moron. Those are just a few examples of what he learned. Can you specify those mistakes, the only fatal mistake I can remember was him being selfish and not going to Jor-El when he was supposed to do it and then losing his powers just to have to get them back and sacrificing his father in the process. But that was something he had to learn to realize that he was on Earth for a greater purpose than just being a human on Earth and so he would finally embrace his powers and destiny. All the other mistakes is perfectly natural for a young and growing Clark Kent who always did learn from his mistakes and constantly risks his life to go and save anybody and even the Earth. He learned from his mistakes with Lex and went from being gullible to everything he told him to distrusting him and going against him rightfully, he learned from his mistakes with Lana and her distrustful behavior and went with someone better in Lois, he learned that he can't be selfish and that his destiny was greater than just playing football. He wasn't the naive farmboy anymore, he actually grew up and became vigilant.  He developed a good deal if you asked me.

P.S. (as far as the hypocritical thing, I used to agree about that. But then I realized that his secret was a much bigger thing than anything he complained about them not telling him. Even Pete had times where he complained about keeping Clark's secret. His secret is a much bigger deal. He has much more to worry about if his secret gets exposed.)
