Yeah, Kishimoto is taking some artistic liberties here. I can't imagine Naruto being upset at Iruka either. My comment, however, was directed at the commentors who are insisting that both of them are in character.

Agreed.

After thinking about it a little I'm going to conclude that the whole bit at the beginning was to put both Naruto and Sakura in a negative light. With Naruto it was his bad attitude to Iruka and Ramen Guy (for the life of me I can never remember his name laugh.gif ) and with Sakura it was her selfish attitude toward her parents and Naruto (with the comment about Sasuke).

I think I heard that Kishi made this movie wanting people who never say Naruto before to enjoy it, so I guess he though it was ok to sacrifice a little of their characterization for the sake of properly delivering the message of the movie.

Kishi maybe thought that it would have more impact by the end if he made Naruto and Sakura have unlikable attitudes in the beginning. Therefore emphasizing the following points:

- Have Naruto be disrespectful of Iruka at the beginning so that he later appreciate how much Iruka is like family to him by the end with the surprise party he gives him.
- Have Sakura talk bad about her parents at the beginning so that she later appreciates their presence by the end, therefore embracing them.
- Have Sakura say Sasuke would understand her, then be mislead by AU Sasuke who she believes would understand her only to find out he was actually tricking her.

Wasn't Sakura comments about Sasuke was post to be a reality check because she got trolled by Sasuke later in the movie.

This comment is post on a check when she start feeling lonely in the same way as naruto on the real world, this is when she learns her lesson, there's nothing related to sasuke, after it she talks with naruto if he's happy on this world i think she see naruto with his parents, laughing and smilling.

this movie has so many NS moments and most of the review omitted it and focus on this comment of sakura to bash but they dont know that they got trolled because they think those are the same characters that are in manga i just feel sorry for then.
if kishi see those review he would be laughing now.

but putting aside the NS moments and the family stuff i think the plot was bad in a way the villain was cliche(as always) and some absurds, but it's a funny movie and worth watch.

This proof that her love for Sasuke is shallow because she like a Sasuke even after knowing he isn't real, but at the same time what does this mean for NaruSaku, if Kishi shows Sakura in that light?

That actually makes a lot of sense. I forgot about what Kishi said. Good post! (:

And, it's Teuchi. Not that Naruto ever calls him that, so I'm sure most people aren't aware he even has a name. xD

Yeah, that's how I see it. Sasuke broke her heart in real world. Ironically, so does AU! Sasuke. Her comment leads audience to believe that she is right IF Sasuke was good. Turns out, Sasuke, in both world, is pretty much unmatched to Sakura. See, in the beginning, she was selfish because of the argument and she didn't get any help from Naruto since he was in a bad mood. They're both in bad mood. After the whole journey, they learn what they said was wrong entirely. So, Naruto and Sakura respects each other even more after understanding their feelings. Sakura thought no parents will be good since Naruto doesn't have any, so now, she knows how Naruto actually feels when living alone. The movie starts bad (not movie itself but their personality). Then, it ends in a good note. You can compare beginning and the end. Naruto was hoping for a date, she scold him. Now she acknowledged it as a date even though Naruto was like "O_O". It's all good fun. Kishi left it in a high note for them. I want to see movie because of bonds and parents. I hope we get a full spoiler. Perhaps that guy in NF can provide that.

It doesn't matter if her "love" is shallow. Its still there for her. And besides, Naruto loved his parents even though they weren't real.

And I agree, I wouldn't bother trying to connect any of the characters to the manga. This movie is for entertainment purposes, and seems to treat almost every type of fan to some fanservice. Even if Sakura kissed Naruto, no matter how glorious it would be, it wouldn't be cannon.

Not sure if i should use spoilers or not but..

If we consider the script they gave to the movie ending true, isn't it disappoiting that this whole time Naruto and Sakura spent in the movie, they learned what feels like to have each other lifes, so they can understand each other better, only in the end to have Sakura blow Naruto off when he ask her out and leave him all alone? If this is true, it feels that all the development Sakura had was, you know, for nothing.

It was just a joke like it happens in all naruto's movies endings the problem is you're taking it as canon.

what is good for NS is that kishi develop their bond during the movie that put all the other fandoms in such a worry state, that's why some of the people who leave the theaters leave with the feeling that the manga will end with NS.

I mentioned that in an earlier post, but I don't think a lot of people will make the connection, because AU Sasuke's parents aren't mentioned at all.

The beginning was meant to bring the negative of both characters. Naruto got mad at Iruka, who was supporting him, then get mad at ramen guy only because he put menma. I will get mad at him myself. For Sakura, she is sick of her parents, so wondering if they're not around, perhaps it will be much better. Then, she rely on Naruto to be supportive, which is common for girl since I always get that experience from mine. Girl loves support when it comes to ranting. Unfortunately, Naruto was upset already and told her that she should be happy, not wrong, as if she's wrong in which it's true. That's why she was disappointed in him and wish Sasuke was there. Again, brings more negative.

In the end, they learned to appreciate each other and what they have. Sakura is happy to have parents. Sakura then thanks Naruto for everything they've done by saying "we have the longest date ever!" Sakura is concluded with being with parents and having Naruto to be there for her. As for Naruto, even though Iruka is not his father, he appreciates him because he deeply cares for him, and that's enough for him. Yes, Kishi may have to sacrifice a development for that line, but it's about the journey that brings the true meaning of the movie. To be honest, that gives me a thumbs up to Kishi.

I guess it was meant to stick with the theme that parents > everything else.

More info from Shadow about the cloak:

QUOTE
The 4th Hokages cloak was actually Sakuras dads cloak. So in the movie instead of Minato being 4th Hokage it was Sakura dad who was hokage.

She sees the cloak in her closet and puts it in her bag. So then she fights menma only to get one punched KO and drops the bag that has her fathers cloak.

Naruto picks up the cloak and Minatos kunai and tells them that he is going after Sakura.

So I've been reading the spoilers and the comments in this thread, and to be honest, I'm still trying to digest everything. Its easy take these spoilers in a different way than it is in actuality, especially when its something that's being recalled off the top of people's heads, people each have their own interpretations of the movie (and thus take away different things from it), and its not always clear to put images into words.

So while some of the stuff I read really makes me quite frustrated --> some of Naruto's and Sakura's lines specifically (about Sasuke and something about Kushina deserving to get hurt) that seem really out of character -- I agree that it seems what was most important to Kishi was just getting his ultimate message about family and taking things for granted out.

None of the spoilers really mention any of the NaruSaku scenes we know are there -- like their discussion on the Hokage mountain or by the fence where Sakura asks Naruto if this world is happy for him -- so that's another thing to consider. Its interesting to note that Sakura supposedly considered the whole genjutsu experience a date between them though tongue.gif

Anyway, my point is that we're probably not going to be able to get a clear idea of what the heck is actually going on (context wise and stuff) until the subbed movie comes out online in April and we get to see it ourselves. That in mind, lets hear what the spoilers say, but not get so frustrated over them until we actually see it in play.

GoDMasteR on NF: from your perspective, what your opnion about Naruto and Sakura's bond?

Shadow: In the movie, Sakura actually mentions someting like. So this is how Naruto lives eh. At first she was happy but then when she walked around and saw some kids with her parents and felt lonely. She acknowledge Naruto strength and wanted to apologize to him. Only to find Naruto having fun with his AU fake parents. It was nice scene because it was Sakura looking at a window and seeing naruto happy.

You will never understand this movie if u try to make a connection between the manga and the movie itself.

Kishi did it on purpose to show both naruto and sakura in a bad light at the begining because they will learn a lesson thought the movie, sakura learns that she needs to respect her parents and they are there for her, as well for naruto that will be at her side forever, and naruto learn that even if their parents are dead he still have a family iruka and that ramen guy they both deeply care for him and are like his family.

Aww, sounds adorable. I wonder if she intended to give it to him at first, but when she heard that he was happy in the alternate world, decided against it.
