I adked this question yesterday.I was told that this was sakura's view...

so, it is entirely possible that she tried to justify her feelings for sasuke and push naruto away towards hinata using this godawful line.

This dialogue not only degrades and trivialize naruto's but also jiraiya's unconditional love.

I know that it comes from Sakura, but it's not like Naruto tries to deny it. This kind of accusation I think would jeopardize their friendship so why wouldn't he deny it unless it were true?

I cant really say what the situation was...

but if I was completely, utterly, hopelessly in love with someone and she cheapened my love to drive me away, I would've been really upset, and angry.

I think naruto was so shocked that she brushed him off, that no words came to his mouth, at the time..

I will need to see the scene in which this happened to confirm.. :)

The poal was simply another way for Naruto to try to win over Sakura and one up Sasuke. And what would Naruto say to Sasuke if he did win Sakura over? "Hah I won!"??? Seriously what a bunch of BS.

And then Sasuke would be like "Sure...Whatever..."

 

Or according to the new canon, he would be like "S-shut up! Stupid Naruto. I-It's not like I like her or anything!", after which he proceeds to go home and cry into his Sakura body pillow...

 

And by cry I mean stabbing it through the chest with a chidori over and over again.

 

True love.

It could be, but like RedFaction said, it's a pretty serious accusation, so unless Sakura is trying to trash their friendship as well, then I don't see why Naruto wouldn't deny it if it wasn't true.

I'm sure this is just a clever trick so that Kishi can deny Naruto being a scumbag by claiming that Sakura just misinterpreted his feelings that were never there or something.

It's sad, but this ending really hit people hard. At first I too was going to leave the Naruto fandom entirely, but I changed my mind and I'm glad I did. 

 

Also it's new years eve, so perhaps people are occupied with their new years celebration. I'd say this community is still relatively lively despite everything we've had to endure for the past two months.

You gotta love Kishi tough, he establishes a love triangle right at chapter 3 and then confirms it all troughout the manga and at the last chapter he explains to you that in fact the love triangle never existed and that Naruto was in love all along with a character for whom he has shown no romantic feelings during the 700 chapters.
According to Kishi and the last it's not only NS which has been a mislead, the whole manga has been one huge red herring and a mislead. Genius writing.

Edit : forgot to add apparently Sakura has been Sasuke's love interest since the beginning.
How can a man be so full of kitten is beyond me ?

A good example of misleading would be severus snape from harry potter. People hated him, but when they read the prince's tale chap, most of them were bawling their eyes out.. and when you read the series again, keeping the revelations in mind, the pieces click. What was his motivation to do so and such..

It is very carefully fabricated...
In fact the first thing snape says to harry potter is a coded apology.

THAT is misleading.
Not the lie we were forced to digest.

I think in his last interview he said when talking about Sasuke that Naruto was his rival and Sakura his love interest. The man has really lost it and apparently Naruto has loved Hinata all along (at least according to the last).

Oh, just watch. You'll see proponents trying to paint this portrait of a forlorn outcast that truly loved Sakura beneath his cold exterior. To them, the bits and pieces of his true heart lie scattered in before his descent into madness like during the bell test when he confided his motivations for the undertaking of becoming a ninja, the acknowledgement of her understanding and apititude for genjutsu being the most advanced of their group which gave Sakura the acknowledgement she craved from him (and a rare expression of appreciation from Sasuke in the form of a smile), or when the first seeds of heartfelt animosity towards Naruto were sown when Sasuke was forced to admit that it was Naruto who saved her from Gaara instead of himself (this will be interpreted as a sign of jealousy on his part since the hardened expression came after Sakura smiled warmly towards Naruto).

 

None of this really matters though. The foundation on which to build a mutually healthy and flourishing relationship with SS that fits within the internal logic of the manga was lost once Sasuke failed to acknowledge her as anyone important to him in Part 2 and after he became an international criminal.
