A spark, a white flash, followed by a crack of thunder. The rain came down in droves, pelting him as he ran. The visibility was low, the rain thick enough to make it so that he couldn't see anything further than ten feet in front of him, but he still ran. He had to get away. For the love of kittening God, he had to get away. Away from them, away from that place, away from himself, where his shattered sanity could stick itself back together slowly, piece by piece by kittening piece.

Splash.

He was only vaguely aware of his surroundings, the burst of a puddle slowly bringing him out of his terror ridden thoughts. He looked down as he was running in time to briefly catch his reflection in the puddle below-

A horn blared somewhere on the outside, but he was trapped in his own little world, desperate for escape, desperate to reach the place that horn came from.

If only he could escape. Maybe if he were smaller. If only his body had the ability to wriggle around and force it's way, squeeze through tight spaces. Almost like a centipede. Yeah, a centipede.

Centipede.

"I'm gonna try putting this guy in your ear."

No.

'From far away came the sound of someone's laughter.'

No.

'It was me.'

No!

"Centipedes in my ear~"

NO!

Somewhere outside a door slammed and a small bell chimed. He paused in his mental deliberations, if they could even be called that, and noticed that he had slammed the door and that he had caused the bell to chime.

An aroma wafted through his nose and washed over him, it was heavenly. Truly heavenly. He closed his eyes briefly, reveling in this wonderful scent, a scent straight from the past, so close he could almost touch it, but just a little too far away to where he could reach out and miss those memories by the breadth of a hair.

He lifts his arm, just a bit, like he's trying to reach out and test it, to see if he can reclaim days past, when another scent finds him. He closes his eyes tighter, trying to catch it.

Lavender...and vanilla?

It was delicate, a soft smell. It was sweet, oh so sweet. It was familiar, he knew this scent well, from days far into the past, and weeks prior. It's so lovely, it's so beautiful. If that last scent was heavenly, then words could not even begin to describe what this scent was. It was...

Nirvana.

He opened his eyes, they flicked across the bookshelf, next to the counter.

It was her.

Goddamnit, it had to end there U_U I like it though ^_^

Thanks I thought about giving both my avatar and the sig a change, and since I've been rereading the original series again I thought about making it Tokyo Ghoul based since I'm getting really excited when it comes to the manga.
