Yeah, but when he leaves, he'll say something. We don't know why he's leaving as in what he thought, and maybe he'll spill his next moves along with his plan and his true motivations.
What I mean is why he's going to leave ? What is/are the reasons ? Did he wanted to go right away and claim the Hokage seat after this battle ends and for some reason he changed his mind which maybe it will be like what you said, he saw Naruto is so strong and get himself ready to fight him ?
He won't return to Konoha after this fight. He'll say some things before he goes, but what exactly are those things, aside maybe saying his plan and his true motivations behind it, that made him not go to Konoha right away and killing Naruto are yet to be seen, and it's very possible that because to get stronger than Naruto is the reason or it's one of the reasons.
By the way, when Sai asked Juugo what is Sasuke's plan, Juugo showed that he doesn't know, right ?
It would seem that no one knows what Sasuke's true goal. We are hinted bits-by-bits that there is still darkness in him as well as willing to not cooperate the alliance on a good term. Juugo knows that's bs that Sasuke wants to save and become Hokage because that's not like him to begin with. Is that plan just happened because of what he come up with during Hashirama's story? Does Sasuke truly thinks that becoming Hokage would be easy like that? No, Juugo knows well enough that Sasuke is hiding something and Sai easily caught on. Sakura caught on as well because of their past history and what not, so not only she doesn't trust him because of what's happening now but she based it off from their relationship, which is bad. Shikamaru never trusted him, so his reaction in 635 is like "I knew it..." but smart enough to not to spread to Ino.
Orochimaru is not good, rather just waiting for that "wind" from Sasuke to happen. The funny thing is that he didn't say it out loud to Tsunade as he was addressing that people does change. That's true, but his change will be reflected when Sasuke's "wind" is commence. He wants to see the newfound plan, rather than destruction like Kabuto and Orochimaru. Not only that, but this is the same as KN4 incident, where Kabuto healed Sakura because they need "backup" in which case Orochimaru is doing it. That's why I don't trust anyone who's associated with Sasuke at this point.
As for Sasuke, what is his plan? From what I gathered, we got that Sasuke wants to kill all threats to the world (Bijuus) and create a new what? Yes, he can say world, but what if it's a new world for me or new world for Itachi. Kishi stopped him for a reason and these simple words can change drastically in their meanings. Next, we got him thinking about Naruto, which has a slash. He then said he'll be the one to destroy the past. So compile it up, perhaps he's plan is to kill all past problems/memories to start anew. He has been talking about the past and has been saying that only he can do it, which is bs but ok. Now the main question is he doing it for his brother or what? That's the only part I'm dealing with.
