No matter what pairing moments come up in the anime there is still 631 beyond all that, I mean face it, 631 caused a bigger fallout than 615 because when 616 came, people on both sides were like, "oh wait that's it?" nothing special happened after that, yet there were still too many questions lingering on with what about Naruto and Sakura's unfinished interaction? Etc. 631 however, caused the fallout among the fanbases just because of Minato and him seeing Sakura as similar to Kushina and seeing Kushina within Sakura.

 

Its as one reviewer said, "Minato became the ultimate troll of the pairing fans, basically he advocated a parallel many fans thought would be true but put it on a character who is not as popular as the one they all wanted."

 

I still remember that day too, it was chaos and flamewars everywhere, not the best of days but it was nice for our fandom. But the aftermath of this event still just lingers around too, this has been longer lasting than the 615 events I mean people are still heavily debating what Minato meant when its really just a simple Sakura=Kushina, when this comes in the anime its like how much more must these things be brought forward? The anime is not going to change the source material, its still going to be Sakura=Kushina a couple weeks after the episode containing 615 airs.

 

The reason is still just so simple, Kushina created a foreshadow, basically to find a girl like her, Minato built on that and compared Sakura to Kushina, Sakura is the only girl who is said to be similar to Kushina, its again that simple. This foreshadowing element will return, but as it is right now, the foreshadow is untouchable and with NS, its not a moment that just disappears, its a story element and it will return in time. Unless there was a very important or valid reason to change this, I don't see it going to NH anytime in the future. As it is right now, the parallel either sticks and NS goes canon or it does not and the parallel dies.

I'll break down the characters love interests. None of the characters have a crush. Hinata doesn't have a crush on Naruto, Sakura doesn't have a crush on Sasuke and ohmygod Naruto does not have a crush on Sakura.
 
I'm so tired of people labeling their feelings as mere crushes even if some is not true love.
 
A crush is short-lived, based on physical attraction and desire to be intimate with said person. The closest to this definition would be Sakura>Sasuke, because her feelings for him were built on his coolness, handsome features and popularity. The arguments that supports the claim that it's love is that she's kept her feelings after all he's done. That doesn't mean it's true love, but we can break her lingering feelings down;
1. Sakura still believes Sasuke has had romantic feelings for her, or at least found her forehead attractive.
2. Kishi is sparing Sakura's feelings to the "Sasuke arc", the last conflict in the series. This may happen quite soon, because I wonder how long Sasuke can hold in his true intentions.
3. Shipping drama..
 
Now on to Naruto, who doesn't love Sakura for her looks or because he finds her cute.

Naruto

He doesn't flat out say why he loves her out loud and does not need to, because it's clear by the way he looks at her.
Sakura's fighting spirit brings out the smile that is only for her.
 
He also acknowledges, admires and is impressed by her abilities and desire to prove her worth. In his eyes she has grown in to a great kunoichi.

 

Sakura

I wouldn't label this scene as love, but what Sakura finds Naruto's courage and determination in combat appealing.
Naruto and Sakura grew up together(minus the two years). She finds his new maturity attractive and it has warmed her heart.

 
Not to mention the bond they share, which has progressed so much that they don't even have to do a single thing to bring the special smile

Mutual bond

Just by Sakura's mere presence, he looks at her like she's the only girl in the world. He only has eyes for her.

 
Look at these panels and tell me about crushes or that they won't be the happiest lovebirds when the war is over. They have fallen for eachother in the most beautiful way you can fall for someone, god I ship them so hard. :3 Sakura loves Naruto. I don't think she knows why yet(at least she did not by the time of her confession, which is why she came up logical reasons for loving him aka her reasons for loving Sasuke), but I'm sure they'll have a talk and figure things out.
 
And the best thing is that they want to protect eachothers smiles, dreams and happiness, and that I can go on and on all night.

And naruto looked at sakura, and judging by how sakura has changed towards naruto, he's the most precious person in her life.

Hinata loves naruto, bit its not the kind of love that she'd wanna have a relationship with him, its only comradeship. There hasnt been a time where she said she was pursuing him romantically.

for pairing fans it wasn't the entire chapter that caused a stir, but a mere 5 panels.

 

The thing about those 5 panels is that they cannot be interpreted any other way without looking like you're in denial. Minato made the direct comparison between Sakura and Kushina confirming the parallel.

 

Answer me if you can. Why would Kishi have Minato do that if he wasn't going to make NaruSaku the end pairing. Why would Kushina's dying words of advice be to find a girl like his mother? Why would Naruto tell his father that Sakura is his girlfriend?

 

Those 3 questions have obvious answers. So obvious that everyone in all fandoms can see it bright as day. It causes panic, denial, and desperation.

Getting this is pretty much guaranteed to win. Unless you're in a comedy short, where development don't happen because it reset in the end. Anyway, I can picture Naruto being the nicest guy in Konoha after that moment. He could be dancing down the street, overpay the ramen, greets everyone, scare Kakashi or make him feel "weird", Sai would be like, "...oh I get it." and so on.

If a kiss on the cheek, I think it will be from Sakura. If a kiss on the forehead, I think it will be from Naruto.

 

I think both are equally possible.

You mean after the war Sakura will kiss Naruto on the cheek instead of hugging him? I would rather have a kiss to the mouth. :3 This is a pretty love centered manga compared to other shounens. Romance is the bond Kishi focuses most on after family and brotherhood

I want Sakura to confront Sasuke on his intentions when it comes to Naruto and when he Says he wants to kill him, she gives this amazing speech. The ultimate speech saying how she'll not let him crush his dreams, and stand by while he does. She'll go on to say how much work Naruto has done for this position and the acknowledgement of the village. She'll end it all with these words. "I won't let you lay a finger on Naruto", and she goes sage mode. Yes!! This is what I want damnit!!
