At times, sure, but it does gel in fair at times. This one I felt like it's good enough, especially using that sickness since the beginning. But yeah, the ending is something that I'm looking forward to.

Yeah, I didn't mind what happened in this chapter because, as you said, the sickness has been a staple with Ukitake since the beginning. I don't mind either that he's going to bring balance back to the Soul Society either with his bankai, because his shikai had to do with balance and unbalance. But that thing a couple chapters ago where the fat guy (can't remember his name) died, communicated with Ichigo, and then came back to life after Ichigo called his name didn't make a lot of sense. I thought it was as bad as Madara being able to use Kamui and Sasuke meeting the sage and getting the Rinnegan, both of which were giant asspulls. I'm looking forward to the ending as well. Hopefully it will be better than Naruto, as nothing can really get worse.

yeah i hope robin gets some medical attention. i don't really enjoy zoro's fights tbh. i the only fights i enjoyed was with mr. 1 and his short one with kuma. i am glad that his fight is finally being taken care of, which means we will get to see luffy vs doffy sooner. can't wait for this arc to end honestly -__-

 

can't really say i'm too excited to see that op character resurface in bleach again. i guess it will be interesting to see him with yhwach.

I hope so too, I don't want her to be hurt. What do you think of her this arc? Do you think she's been handled well? My favorite Zoro fight was him vs Kaku. I guess I'm just more of a Zoro fan than you are lol But I'm glad him vs Pica is happening, it's not really that I'm tired of the arc, its just that I want to see Luffy vs Doflamingo sooooo bad. I think overall it's been a great arc.

 

I don't mind him returning, I like how much of a villain he was, I think his controlling nature made him great.

 

AHHH! What the hell? Duke was down 7 with 1:23 left in the 2nd half!!! How did they win? How the hell did I miss that???

This is on the website that I used to get episodes from. The numbers you should look at are the ones on the right 58, 82 and 42. That's how many people got episode. I did mention in one of my previous posts that before the ending. The number of people getting them was between 800-1100.

In fairness to the anime, filler arcs generally attract less attention compared to the main story. That download amount will likely multiply once the manga is being animated again.

I agree however but the lower number is still present. I wish I always had proof of the old days where the numbers were higher to prove that I'm not making this stuff up but I didn't thought about it back them. I mean who the hell thought about it.

They're trying to extend the series for as long as humanly possible in order to milk until there's nothing left. Even a few bucks for them is a fortune these days.

lately it kinda feels like robin is the luffy of the marinford war arc lol. she's been all over the place and had her moments here and there.i'm tired of oda teasing us and not delivering on a full fledged fight for her. trebol was the first ugly tease and next it was gladius, both who are a waste of time for robin. i thought she was going to fight diamante, but she was only there to be the bodyguard for rebecca. man what a kittening tease this was.

 

i like zoro, i'm just not a big fan of the sword fights in this series. though when it comes to hawk and shanks though

Yeah, it would be really hard to find those numbers unless someone was documenting them (and doing so for a long time). And honestly, I don't even think the sites that put those subs up would have a reason to keep those stats. 

 

But you can just look at this site for a smaller representation of the larger picture: Anime watching as dropped off almost completely. Sure there are still some episodes that will spike viewership, but on the whole it has slid off the map. We may be a NS site, but there are plenty of people who would watch the anime regardless of ship. 

 

And if you keep taking away slice of the Naruto fan-base — fans who were disappointed with the ending, fans who were disappointed with the ship, fans who were disappointed with their characters, fans who were disappointed with the new direction, etc. — then there's not too many fans still around to watch the anime. Basically all that's left are NH fans and fans who only watch the anime. (I wouldn't include SS fans in that list because SS is not supported by the manga. It just ends that way. So if you're reading Naruto for SS development, well you're outta luck.)

 

Anyway, I think it's safe to say, using this site as a model, that viewership has dropped off significantly. Of course SP doesn't count pirated online episodes in their overall viewer count. But again, if online viewers are not tuning in, then you can bet the same thing is happening on regular tv as well.

 

edit: btw, for our site, we used to have 2-3 pages for each anime episode topic thread. That was the norm. Sometimes there was much more, especially if it was a particularly good or particularly frustrating episode. Sometimes there was less if it was really a terrible filler. But usually 2-3 pages. Now we're averaging 2-3 comments. Thread views are still high, but the average for comments has bottomed out.

Hello Folks, how's it going? I hope everyone is doing well, it's been a while...

 

Not 80% but it does drop. However, it will last long for a while and continue have over 100,000 for like over 4-5 weeks. If next week is in 5 digits, it's already fading. Multiplier as you can say. Naruto is known for first impression, then fade away. It wasn't like that a long time ago. Now, it's like that. Anyway, One Piece multiplier is always impressive because it hits over a million, then 900,000. AoT is an example that Naruto once was. It can drop, but it can stay and go to a very long ride.

 

Sometimes we can't really judge by numbers, although I think it's no secret that Naruto series is fading away, no matter how people tried to 'hide' it. What's more, I'd assume that the production cost requires more funds to cover the marketing effort, exclusive packaging, etc

 

My circles in Japan told me the other day over a casual chat, that Shingeki no Kyoujin is climbing up while One Piece is always well received (it's anecdotal, I know... just a group of people who lives across the countries). When I asked about how Naruto was doing and the public reception towards the ending, they were like "meh" and didn't say much. I guess that reaction speaks louder (at least for me --they're the same batch as me btw, we've followed the series since year 1...).

 

You can sort of draw conclusion which series is popular or climbing up by its presence in events outside the manga and various media (e.g. advertisements for other causes, promotional brands, etc). When I went there last year, One Piece was almost everywhere (they have lots of promo tagging along at 7-eleven's goods/foods, McDonalds, TV ads, etc)

 

For Shingeki no Kyoujin, few of my circles went to Universal Studio event (http://en.rocketnews...traction-opens/) and it's almost always crowded. So, you can 'feel' the scale of its success. Anyways, if you plan to visit Japan, try to make an effort to go there, my friends told me you won't regret it (http://www.usj.co.jp/e/universal-cool-japan2015/) .

 

Naaah !!! Don't expect anything NS except butchering it even more   remember we can't have anything NS  . Just watch as this kitten novel explains  how SS happened and why Sakura "loves" Sasuke  (despite being based on shallow reasonings in the manga ) retconing everything we know , just watch as they give Sasuke Naruto's characteristic as being kind and gentle  based on her false image of Sasuke(Naruto transformed) in Ch 3  . Just  thinking of this makes we cringe so much and vomit this novel might be even worse then " The Last Retcon kitten "             .

 

Spot on! Let's not expect anything NS going forward. It's over folks, together with all other good things about this series. Going forward, it does not worth our attention.

 

I humbly think they will learn their lesson one day. I won't be surprised if, by then, they're pulling out a different direction to bring back fans attentions and money. When I saw on my dashboard about the recent DVD cover where they put Sakura healing Naruto, I was just smiling and I thought "wow, I didn't expect they'd do it that fast."

 

Let's be honest, at this point, all the effort should be put to 'support' the canon pairing right? (movies, filler episodes, posters, etc). There's literally no point to display NS interaction anymore. It's done. It's not the same. It won't be the same, no matter how much retcon effort they are putting.

 

Unless of course, they know something that general public don't know. And that's the scary part of making decisions. When you took the 'wrong' decision, you'd only know the result after it is decided and plans are carried out --and generally it'll only impact you in the long run.

 

Some of you might be familiar with Pareto Principle (i.e. the law of vital few, or 80-20 rule), which states that roughly 80% of the effects come from 20% of the causes. Believe it or not, it holds true for most of the cases you encounter on daily basis. Take for example, the richest 20% of the world's population is controlling ~80% of the world's income (there's a UN Development Program Report on that). Other studies suggested that in general, roughly 80% of company profits come from 20% of its customers.

 

Where I'm driving at is, we always debated in the past that this part of the fandom is more popular than that part of the fandom. Well, yes and no. Nobody knows exactly. And frankly, size doesn't really matter, unless they contribute to the profits. However, we know that one of these fandoms was holding the vital few. It contributes roughly 80% of the profits the franchise made (a hypothetical guess based on the law of vital few). We wouldn't know which one it is, until the decision is made and the impact is done.

 

Personally, I've probably spent $1k - $2k over the span of 13-14 years to support the series (buying their stuff, etc). Out of all the fans in the world, I don't think 80% of them are doing the same as I do (no disrespect, but I think most of the people in the world are getting the material online).

 

Based on the declining popularity, I don't think those part of the fandoms that enjoy the ending are the vital few. We'll see in the long run, and by then, we've moved forward with our lives.

Definitely. :) I like to think too that the ending also is one reason why viewership is down big time for Naruto, even as the anime is stretching out so SP can make more money off of it. In the long run, the ending did more harm than good, especially when you think about The Last as well as how forced 699 and 700 were. And the reviews for the final movie didn't help either... plus the rumors of why Kishimoto-sensei did will likely hurt him too.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I would have liked her to get a fight, but at least she was heavily involved throughout the arc. I have faith she'll have her fight soon enough, I thought her catching Cabbage when he turned to Hakuba was really a great feat for her.

I don't mind the sword fights, but what I really love is how intense he gets. Omg if we could have a spinoff or detailing shanks' life, including his fights against Mihawk, Id squeal like a fangirl

Truth be told people moving away from it was expected because the manga ended so the story is over. But the amount of people that dropped it is too high. Clearly people are not satisfied with how it ended.

It's possible they going to ignore the bench scene and Sakura fangirling in the past. Although SS gets off scoff free because it will not destroy the manga because the novel is not canon unlike the last.

Who knows since they went full force to retcon everything that holds NS high above them  they'll use anything at this point and really that's the only way to explain Sakura's "hidden feeling" no matter how stupid ridiculous it is  it will be abomination no matter how you see it bc the manga has stated otherwise until the end     .  I think they are bc they said Kikitten is the one directing them the guy only writes them or something like that   . Besides they are going after the canon "events" people already take them as canon  so don't know how much they really are . Either way anything SS at this point it will be used to " legitimize " them so I think damage there will be  one way or the other sign     ..

I'm sort of happy that The Order 1886 is a bust, mainly because I was afraid that gaming is more focus on movie presentation. Turns out that I was wrong. Gameplay is still the most important part of the game. Thank you! Thank god for smart logic.

Makes me wish that made some sense with manga now and then, particularly to what happened with Naruto.
