No recap because I've been a slug. We had no obvious choices for Week Five's Kick to the Groin Award; I was tempted to give it to Nuclear Raven because Matt Schaub got him less than 2 points, but he didn't even bother to replace Heath Miller with Brandon Pettigrew. True, it wouldn't have mattered in the long run but that entire matchup seemed like no one paid attention. Instead we'll go with the Commish, whose kicker scored more than both his running backs (Frank Gore, DeAngelo Williams) AND Tony Gonzalez combined.

Kick to the Groin Award "Winners:"

Weeks 1-3: Nee-sama
Week 4: Nate River
Week 5: Mik3

Jwolf's Wildly Inaccurate Week Six Predictions!

You know what's better than coffee? Coffee with BREAKFAST. What a broken combo.

As always, my pick to win is in bold. Of course, with how well I haven't been doing lately the smart bettor might go the other way.

Betting on fantasy football. What's wrong with you people?

Konoha Shinobi (Sir Whirly, 3-2) vs. True Miracles (True, 0-5)
-Konoha Shinobi favored by ~1

Eli gets to face a Detroit secondary that made Sam Bradford look bad, but he does play for St. Louis. The Lions are getting respectable, but they (and their defense especially) aren't there yet. David Garrard, on the other hand, is going to get harassed all day long by that Titans pass-rush.

Zatties! (Zatren6, 3-2) vs. The Generals (Nuclear Raven, 2-3)
-Zatties! favored by ~24

The Generals have two players on bye, but I don't know if those spots will be filled in time.

Fire The Fatman PLZ (Illmatic, 3-2) vs. Fumbles (Nate River, 3-2)
-Fumbles favored by ~18

Virtually Illmatic's entire bench is on bye, therefore he starts Isaac Redman at RB. Not good.

The Golden Thumbs (Rick, 5-0) vs. Leatherbacks (Nick Soapdish, 0-5)
-The Golden Thumbs favored by ~23.5

Yeah, I'm just gonna say it now. Rick is also definitely making the playoffs. Too strong of a lineup, too consistent.

Dark Wulves (Burning_wulf, 3-2) vs. Kick Me (Nee-sama, 2-3)
-Kick Me favored by ~2.5

Aaron Rodgers showing no ill effects from his concussion is good for Nee-sama, bad for Burning_wulf. I was wrong on how effectively McCoy would be (but right on Zach Miller) and the Wulves' WR2 and WR3 are crapshoots, although Washington may have a good game.

Tokyo Raiders (roninmedia, 4-1) vs. Green Men (Mik3, 2-3)
-Tokyo Raiders favored by ~6.5

I just ate, so I know it's not a rumbling stomach - gut says the Commish gets the upset here. As long as Kevin Kolb is the QB I see DeSean Jackson as the #3 receiving option behind Celek and Maclin, and Brady will find a way to spread the ball around, even against the tough Baltimore D. Green men get to go to the pool this week.

Sparky McRandomsons (jwolf0, 3-2) vs. Paradoxes (Paradox Jast, 1-4)
-Sparky McRandomsons favored by ~18

Hakeem Nicks scares me, but hopefully Malcom Floyd (who continues to be underprojected) can help balance that out. So much rides on the Washington/Indy matchup, and you never like having the Defense that plays against Peyton Manning even with last week taken into account.

Picks last week: 3-4 headdesk.gif
Season picks to date: 19-16

Antonio Gates.... Oh crap... I get the feeling my luck is definitely leaving me. I hope it's not too bad, my team just wont be the same without him.

In the words of Homer Simpson: Football to the Groin. Football to the Groin.

Just because I named my team Fumbles doesn't mean I encourage them. AP fumbled and lost it. Marcedes upon tying the score for me just did the same. -8 points. Ugh! And....Edwards just got INT'd in the endzone. Baring a mircale, I lose.

Well, they did end up charging the fumble to Favre instead of AP if it helps.

As promised, my guys are going to the pool.

Win next week and you get the water.

Makes me feel worse, since it means Marcedes cost me the game on the same catch that would have tied it. And it means that endzone heave by Brady at the end or regulation that added an INT also really hurt. So many stupid turnovers.

Kick to the Groin Award "Winners:"

Weeks 1-3: Nee-sama
Week 4: Nate River
Week 5: Mik3
Week 6: Nate River

Well, yeah. I think I'd rather get blown out than lose because of AGHFumble.

Week Six Quick Recap

Konoha Shinobi 80.85
True Miracles 91.75
QUOTE
Zatties! October 19, 11:46 am
Did...True...win...a game?

Yup. Having a kicker out is less damaging than having a running back out, and David Garrard's Magical Swan Dive lands with a crash.

Zatties! 132.65
The Generals 105.95

-Not quite the walkover I thought it would be (Welcome back to fantasy relevance, Dwayne Bowe!), Zatren had to score the highest point total this week to put away a game - if short two players - Generals team.

Fire the fatman PLZ 88.30
Fumbles 84.30

-Again, look at the last few posts to see how Nate lost this. Then realize that a lost fumble is -4 points (-2 for fumbling period, -2 for turning it over to the other team).
...aww, we could've had a tie!

The Golden Thumbs 93.25
Leatherbacks 69.10

-Meh, Gates Schmates. You're fine, Rick.

Dark Wulves 112.25
Kick Me 78.15

-Every team gets an off day from time to time, but that was kind of awkward - only 2 players on Nee-sama's team broke 10 points. Burning_wulf didn't need the WR2/3 positions I picked on to win.

Tokyo Raiders 78.10
Green Men 128.50

-I predicted a Commish victory, but I didn't think it would happen like this. Not with Cutler getting harassed by the Seahawks constantly and Michael Turner doing nothing.

Sparky McRandomsons 108.40
Paradoxes 80.90

-As a non-Cowboys fan I could care less if Tony Romo throws 2 picks, as long as he gets at least 2 TDs to go with. And huzzah Arian Foster!

Week 6 pick result: 5-2
Season picks to date: 24-18

Also, presenting the BCS The Seemingly Great H&E 2010 Fantasy Football League standings! Top 6 teams make the playoffs, but there's still a LOT of football to play.

Hey guys, now that Peytons bye week is over, I'd like to trade Kyle Orton. I'd like to get a good RB for him, since he is a very good QB (for fantasy at least). If anyone is interested, send me a PM, or leave a post in this thread with your offer.

Finally, my losing streak is over. And I still got one more player waiting for points. However, it was during a Payton bye week (though in fairness so was Calvin Johnson and Driver was pretty banged up and got no catches). The good news is that as sorry as the Broncos did...Kyle Orton still managed 18 pts. for two TD passes to...Knowshon Moreno who is my RB2. Glad I started him.

I was hoping the sports gods were finally smiling on me again and when I saw you as an opponent during a Calvin Johnson bye week I was disappointed. It worked out though (for me). I won and the Rangers are going to the World Series.

Hmm. It's Matt Ryan's bye week. Looking over the other QBs, I may be better off not playing one.

It's nice to have a three game win streak, but I've never felt worse after a win because the Generals clearly aren't paying any attention or trying. 3 guys on a bye in the line up? How could I enjoy win like that?

It's like we're at the part of the season where some teams are resting their starters for the post-season and others are just trying to set up for next year by testing out the young guys. Not that the Generals were exactly testing out anybody.

In other news, Brett Favre finally had a game where he was worth a first round pick, but I had him on the bench. Not that it would've mattered since Nee was kicking me and then some. I guess my Jason Campbell experiment is over. At least, he kept me looking respectable (more or less) in last week's loss.

Yeah, it's been a while.

Starting with the obvious....

Past Kick to the Groin Award "Winners:"

Weeks 1-3: Nee-sama
Week 4: Nate River
Week 5: Mik3
Week 6: Nate River
Week 7-9: ~Pony~

Newest Kick to the Groin Nee-sama Memorial VICK'D award:

Week 10: Sir Whirly. VICK'D. 'Nuff said.

Week Ten Quick Recap

Sparky McRandomsons 113.90
The Golden Thumbs 96.55
-Peyton Manning didn't live up to his usual standard of excellence, and that was the difference in an otherwise even match.

Konoha Shinobi 106.45
Green Men 126.25
-MIKE VICK MIKE VICK MIKE VICK MIKE VICK. MIKE VICK MIKE VICK MICHAEL? MIKE VICK MIKE VICK!

Zatties! 123.20
Tokyo Raiders 106.15
-Welcome to fantasy relevance, Troy Smith? The other Heisman winner on the field teamed up with an Indy D that produced five takeaways to keep Z in the playoff hunt.

Fire the fatman PLZ 83.90
Dark Wulves 63.10
-The bye week was not kind to the Wulfpack - Derek Anderson and Deion Branch were not capable of replacing Philip Rivers and Greg Jennings.

Fumbles 134.00
True Miracles 40.60
-I think True stopped paying attention.

The Generals 129.10
Leatherbacks 53.70
-And sometimes life just isn't fair. This is the same lineup The Generals have fielded since, what, week 3? Nuclear Raven hasn't really paid attention in months, yet he had four players with over 20 points.

Kick Me 114.05
Paradoxes 68.95
-Nee-sama continues to roll along. Paradox? I hope you come back next year.

With three weeks left in the Fantasy regular season there are still a lot of teams in contention for a playoff spot. The standings below are broken down into three groups; the top six are the teams currently in the playoffs if it started today, the next group are still mathematically alive for a playoff spot, and the last two teams are officially out of the playoff hunt. But there's still the consolation bracket!

In case of a tie, Points For is the Tiebreaker.

Now, it's me versus you, Jwolf. Yahoo has a spread of 0.4 and you face a delimma. Your history of picking games involving me is incredibly bad. I think you've been wrong at least 6 times. So do you follow the trend and pick against yourself, or do you pick youself hoping to finally buck it?
